  • Got sick of all those fake HD's or fuzzy shots, and either incomplete footage or too much. This is the exact part in which Hit Girl enters the stage and starts the slaughter.
    + True HD
    + 4 minutes of the exact scene you're looking for (what i've been looking for months)

      @markmarkess4264 8 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      06pag Both movies kinda makes fun of the superhero formular. Both movies know they aren't 100% realistic and has a bit of fun with that. Yea people don't compare them as much anymore because of the death of the Deadpool-hype. But while the Deadpool hype was up and going, every single person saying that "Deadpool changed the superhero movie formular/genre" (or something like that) would've gotten a response with "No, Kick-Ass did" (or something like that).

      Well with that new perspective you've given, this scene hits a lot different because its so true. As soon as BD is lit up, he knows he's not going to be able to get out of there /with/ her, so he does the only thing he can and thats coaching her through so that she still has a chance of making it out of there. He's burning alive pretty slowly, and he's in pain but he's got enough strength to keep screaming for her to keep moving, and even when its all done and over - he hangs on just a little longer to tell her how much he loves her and even through the pain the man is //still smiling// for her.

      Obababoy I don't have a problem with the scene as a whole. I like it myself, it's just the way he shouts in this. It's pretty bad imo. I'm not sure if he's trying to sound in pain or as you said he just strange or both, but he sounds like he's doing a terrible impression of a song from Grease. "KRYPTONIIIITE" I don't see the need for him to act that way.

      I hear that. I will admit I was curious what his tone was insinuating but the directors and other people controlling him when acting the scene clearly meant for him to yell how he did. Krytonite is referring to the green strobing flashlight. It was in her training to remember that and he was guiding her while burning.

He was better in " Raising Arizona " , " Leaving las vegas " , " That movie with car thiefs and Angelina Jolie" and wayyy more. Don't judge his perfomance by the movie Kick-Ass bc he did better. I wonder why every1 say the same thing smh.

    I think why I love this scene so much, is that Big Daddy only started coaching her when he was set ablaze. Up to that point, he knew she had it in the bag and those goons were going to be picked off one by one by her over a couple of minutes.
    But when he was set ablaze and saw her foolishly rush out, he knew she was losing her focus because of him, fought through the pain enough to be coherent, and offered good advice on what SHE specifically should do with her loadout and skills to keep her safe, even in the madly confusing, pitch black, loud as hell, gunfight.
    God this movie and Big Daddy are so underrated.

    This scene is really something unlike other fighting scenes I've ever seen. I mean I wasn't like," Whoah! Kill those gangsters Hit Girl! They don't have a chance!" Throughout the whole scene I was quiet. The music that starts to play when they burn Big Daddy fits the fighting scene and gave me goosebumps. I couldn't help myself but to get teary-eyed watching a little girl trying to save his dad. Best fighting scene ever!

    The defining element of this scene, for me at least, is how Big Daddy doesn't give a shit about whether he dies or not. Doesn't care that he is burning to death. Just dedicates his last moments to making sure his little girl makes it through this alive.

    To everybody saying that Kick Ass 2 sucked...you're wrong. It was actually a pretty solid movie with similar parts of humor and dark seriousness. If it weren't for the fact that the first outshone it so well, it probably would've actually sold pretty well. I do hope they make the third.

    • @johnnygnash2253
      @johnnygnash2253 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I agree. I was prepared for a really crappy movie based on what I'd read, But Kick-Ass2 was a perfectly fine movie. I think the real problem with KA2 is that Hit-Girl was less the tiny little pixie-child. It's certainly not CGM's fault that she grew, but Hit-Girl seemed so vulnerable and little kid-ish in the first movie - it made for an oddly powerful mix. You just had to root for the tiny Hit-Girl!

    • @honoramongscars649
      @honoramongscars649 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      The reason I think most people say it sucks is because it watered down many of the scenes from the original comic. Also they made the final fight scene less epic and removed the original ending where almost everyone gets arrested.

    • @BiscuitDelivery
      @BiscuitDelivery 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      HonorAmongScars True that, though the first movie was off from the comics as well. The difference was that they pulled it off a bit better in the first. For instance, Big Daddy was just a sociopath with a big desire to play vigilante who made his fortune on rare comics. The whole thing about Mindy's mom was just a cover story in the comics.

    IMO, this is one of the most well made action scenes of all time, in almost every aspect. From concept, to cinematography, to the score, etc. I don't think the music can be understated though. The music can make or break a scene, and I don't think they could have chosen a better fitting piece for this scene.
    This movie as a whole is incredible, especially considering the budget and how much of that small budget went to the actors. There are many great action scenes and the movie is put together very nicely. But this scene is one of the all time greats, and gives me chills everyone I watch it.

    Robin's revenge line is genius- When the third Robin first started, he was facing a blind man who was still ten times the martial artist he was. So rather than run straight at the guy, what he did was set a whistle to blow, and flanked around the villain while he was distracted by the noise. Kind of the same way Mindy used the strobe light to disable her opponents' primary sensory input, and flanked around them to kill them.

    Nic Cage's tendency to overact legit made this scene so much better.

    Fun fact for me, the reason the scene where Big Daddy is set ablaze gets so emotional was because they used a remixed version of the song, Sunlight by John Murphy. That song is used in motivational and inspirational videos all the time and it’s the perfect song of triumph through sacrifice and hard work. It was such a beautiful, bitter sweet moment for me…

    Thugs: Fire approximately 200 rounds at the strobe, 0 hits.
    Hit Girl: 1 shot, lights out.
    Big Daddy was a hell of a coach.
