Hello, unfortunate Australian here. Picked up the new custodes battleforce to add to my old CP box and I am waiting for 2 copies of the new CP box to be delivered. Bought all of these off Amazon and only had to spend just over $700 Australian dollaridoos for a few thousand points of custards, pretty chuffed.
If you want to know what Valdor is up to read the Bequin series (the last trilogy in Dan Abnett's Inquisitor series after Eisenhorn and Ravenor), lets just say Valdor has been VERY busy since the Seige of Terra, and he's likely to have some massive story implications in the last book.
Plus the new Talons detachment requires them to work. Sadly it looks like the best thing to do is take Sister's Rhinos instead of actual sisters though.
@@EdBurke37 i like sisters, they are so low points cost you can run 20 of them and not really lose many Custodes units, only real problem is the actual cost, one of the worst points per dollar of any model I've seen but i plan to 3D print a sisters horde army specifically to use the new detachment, just for the memes
Bro, if you get 2 of the new cp and 2 of the old ones as well as Trajan, you have a full collection of custodes that you can play any custodes playstyle with
I picked up the old CP box a while ago as a painting project. Tempted to pick up the new one and Trajan at some point for a cheap army that (hopefully) wont get wiped off the table like everything else I play!
It is a low cost infantry elite army...easy to collect. Finds out he needs to get a special character from over seas(big import tax), Canis Rex, 3 (sold in boxes of 2) halverins and 2 (3 to be safe) FW tanks. For trying something more then one build you also need 6-12 jump infantry and another skimmer. This is just to play, because there are still the iconic custodes FW dreads thankfuly so bad they are just a painter/collector option. In my country the 3 calladius are more then a ton of people earn in a month.
Seriously considering picking up some golden peeps after watching this! Although maybe just a Kill Team to start with :D Fab video, as always; keep it up guys!
I've always enjoyed the aesthetic of the Golden Rods but I already played Grey Knights in the past. Hyper Elite is so super swingy. Another great vid my guys
Do you guys ever wonder if GW is going to fix the point value of the Adeptus Custodes units? Did they post something about it on social media? To be honest, I don't even know if they are aware of the problem with this codex.
@@the_kieran_show thanks. I just bought CP Custodes 9 edition, and when the new rules came out, I realized that my army is full of shit, it's unpleasant that a multi-million dollar company could not properly balance the value of points.
Cool video, and quite a nice price (for GW) for a 2k army... too bad I can't stand the lemonheads. Now Tau! I love those guys! I'm looking forward to that video' hopefully GW clarifies the disparity on Kroot Hounds by then.
Only issue I have for Custodes as an army is, that in my opinion, there arent enough units in the plastic range for me to justify them to myself. Also imo they need a plastic tank other than the Landraider for transport. Other than that they are an army i'd love to pick up, thanks as always for the vid guys :D
@@the_kieran_show Nah, just meta in terms of a good list ( for us ) haha. I only mention it because in the vid you said you would have 2 blade champs which you wouldn't use both.
"What is Valdor doing these days?" Spoilers for the Eisenhower/Ravenor/Bequin books: Constantine Valdor is almost certainly the reoccurring background antagonist known as The Yellow King. He's set up his own pocket realm in the Warp and is searching for the Emperor's true name. He has an army of cloned blanks, winged Space Marines, fellow Custodes and something called Grails which are human souls forced into Deamonic bodies. Eisenhorn has been hunting him as have some of the Eldar and the Alpha Legion IIRC. The latest Bequin book ended with her finding a massive book that supposedly listed the identity of the Yellow King and the first words in it were Constantine Valdor. Not only is this pretty solid proof but it fits with Custodes fluff where they take new names every time they achieve something great so of course a legend like Valdor would have an impossibly long name.
@@the_kieran_showDan Abnett is a great writer in general, and really shines in this series. If the Black Library did a leather bound collector's edition for each 'trilogy', I'd scoop them all in a heartbeat. Hopefully he wraps up the Bequin trilogy soon.
I do believe the Australians (at least going by the Horus Heresy TH-camrs I watch from there) simply enjoy their easy access to the incredible 60% discount offered by the Chinese and Russians on all their respective Warhammer products.
THICC bois make sick toys. (Or at least cheap ones.) They look a bit too pre-primaris marines though. Their proportions could be a little bit better. A bit too THICC for my tastes.
@@the_kieran_show well yeah, but I meant the books being out of date on day one. The books are created long before we get them. Months if not a year. So why even guess at points? I find it all confusing.
OOOOOH I see what you mean! Apologies. Books are good in concept, but I think points in books are absolutely pointless. The lore is often a rehash of existing stories + new artwork, I think we'd benefit from just data cards and the books are PDF's.
The main problem seems to be that they have only 4 detachments and 2 (or even 3) of those are a bit gimmicky. So there are very few options to play them the regular way. Also, they are a little less resilient than they were in the index.
If you believe unsourced YT videos, Henry Cavill has quit the Amazon 40k series AT LEAST 500 times over Femstodes. We get it, you don't like the change (and/or how it was done). Can't you just make that video? Is it *really* necessary to drag that poor man into it? (Not the Kieran's, who are awesome and classy. Even if one doesn't care for the superior race, yes-yes?)
Under $1,000 in Australia...I am almost sold. If I run out of stuff to paint, I will be tempted.
Surely you’ll never run out of stuff to paint! The back log calls!
Okay, it sounds like we have your next painting challenge ! Agree on a color scheme, buy your 2 CPs and see who can paint more in 24hrs!

Been wanting to read the bequin series for a while so will move that up the list!
he golden boys are basically Space Marines wearing fancy jackets
Fancy jackets 😭😭
It's me! I'm the other person that likes Tau!
🐟🐟🐟🐟
I main the T'au. For the Greater Good!
Nice vid, would love one for sisters at some point!
Hopefully that book drops soon 👀
Sisters of silence aren't good but they are necessary in a Custodes army for just having models on the board to secure objectives and get secondaries
Plus the new Talons detachment requires them to work. Sadly it looks like the best thing to do is take Sister's Rhinos instead of actual sisters though.

It’s just the cost of the models for them that is the real kicker
Custards in Aldi are only few quid tho
Pushing tins around would be pretty funny
Was gonna suggest after watching the Ork vid, you guys consider doing lists to fit detachments as the codex release?
Loving the content though ❤
That'd be a fun idea!

I know this was meant innocently, but “CP” the way people use it now days… REALLY changes how they sentence reads lol.
Definitely worth it! An army in two boxes is mad value!

We do have a soft spot for grey knights though 👀

Would love to see some Aeldari/Ynnari representation. The Combat Patrols will probably take a big stake of the points.
We will totally do one for each when their book comes out!

I don't like them but now I've seen this, that is one easy way to have a great army. Great video
It's been such a fun series. Theres some really interesting builds for each army!
would rather a wound increase than a points decrease
Interesting!

Yeah we have looked at the NZ pricing before as well…. It’s also ridiculous 🫠

FEMALE CUSTODES?!
Welcome to the future 🤘🏻
NO!
@@the_kieran_show they dont exist, same way male Sisters of Silence dont exist
No, please, open the book debate. I’m sorta new to the hobby and love to hear people bitch about it. It’s the part I find the most confusing.
