El Dorado Fire Grows As Investigators Believe It Is Human Caused

- Authorities announced today that the El Dorado Fire was reportedly human caused, although no details have yet been released on the exact cause. Investigators continue to look into the fire, as it spread to 3,000 acres and continued to threaten homes. Fortunately for firefighters, containment jumped to 5% as most nearby structures were reportedly spared from damage. At least 550 firefighters are reported on the ground battling the blaze with new evacuations being ordered for the eastern edge of Yucaipa.
I don’t know how those firefighters can wear all those clothes and equipment in 110 degree weather and not faint.
Susanne Raynard it is not easy. I used to do it and the heat index on the fire line would be 115 or higher. It is so easy to get dehydrated even drinking water. We had to drink heavy amounts of electrolytes and carry healthy energy food bars just to make it.
@@eptyr12 And on top of that...this is a job for the young. You won;t see too many of these firefighters over the age of 30-35. My 21 year-old grandson wants to do this for a living, and is taking college courses for his EMT certificate as I write this.
@@antonbruce1241 For sure. I started at 22 and got out when I was 32. It can be a brutal job but you get to see and do some incredible things.
Once you hit a certain point of hotness it just doesn't matter anymore. That and a LOT of training and PT.

Mad respect to these guys. Long sleeves and pants, thick coats, 50+ lbs of gear, 115+ degree heat, and a fire raging not 100 feet away from them. If there's anyone in this country deserving of a pay raise right now, it's our first responders.

A fireworks type incendiary device. The color of the smoke was to reveal the gender. People did this in a parking lot next to dry brush. This was a gathering of people and not one person knew not to do it next to dry brush or bring water. Wandering if they even tried to put it out or call the fire department. Dumb, dumb, duh, dumb. Not laughing.

That is a BIG tanker... I didn't realize such a thing was in service.
That's Tanker 947, a tanker owned by Global Super Tanker. A 747 and there's only 1 in the world. We also have 4 DC10's (MD-11) working these burns, too. Owned by 10Tanker.

May God be with them and protect them/ give them strength during this heat.
As well as their families, they must be worried about them, so may they have peace and faith in their hearts that their loved ones are okay, and will be okay
My weekend was cut short due to this. The fact that the red flag warning didn’t cross the parents brain still blows my mind. Even the slightest spark can initiate a fire.

would be cool if news channels hired fpv drone pilots/could get some more dynamic shots of whats going on. This could easily be coordinated safely as a drone is small /can stay well within 100ft of the ground and out of the airspace used by emergency services.

These hills are biologically predisposed to burn every few years! Southern California is meant to burn and always has been it's just we've got in the way.

There has to be a better fire suppression technique than just water alone. We need to figure out some sort of unmanned machine that can just drive around smothering out fire with a water roller or something, overturn the ground. Water is difficult to transport and seems like old technology.
All the firefighters need to do is saturate the area around the fire first before them try to extinguish the flame. They need to contain the flames.

I feel sorry for these brave firemen. they are struggling with their useless, pretty looking, equipment while the machinery that could be used to combat the fires exists, but due lack of ingenuity its just standing around in your military bases.

Where would you rather be fighting the fire? On the ground or in the air? I choose air. Less exposure to fumes and intense heat. Plus it's probably an air conditioned cabin.

Got to love our fire fighters 💪🏻 I wanna to be come one so bad growing up but growing up in San Bernardino the environment was so bad and that’s all I knew but now I have my little girl and my wife I wish I could of took a different route
