For one day we do things like karting, bowling etc. The next day we have all our end of sprint/design meetings etc. This works amazingly well. I save loads of money and have lots more family time. Dreams can definitely come true, especially when you get into smart investments like stocks. Just to give you an idea, I made significant gains within a year by investing wisely in the stock market with the help of a financial advisor. It's amazing how much your financial situation can improve when you make your money work for you.
Agreed. I think the safest strategy is to diversify investments. Like spreading investments across different asset classes, like bonds, real estate, and international stocks, they can reduce the impact of a market meltdown.
A lot of folks downplay the role of advisors until being burnt by their own emotions. I remember couple summers back, after my lengthy divorce, I needed a good boost to help my business stay afloat, hence I researched for licensed advisors and came across someone of utmost qualifications. She's helped grow my reserve notwithstanding inflation, from $275k to $850K.
I would like to ask, how did you achieve it? I've been trying to stick with index funds. I feel these new interest rate hikes could crash the economy. I'm looking for a better investing strategy, as I have a lump sum that inflation is steadily eating up.
Certainly, there are a handful of experts in the field. I've experimented with a few over the past years, but I've stuck with ‘’Teresa L. Athas’’ for about five years now, and her performance has been consistently impressive. She’s quite known in her field, look-her up.
Thanks, I just googled her full name and I'm really impressed with her credentials; I reached out to her since I need all the assistance I can get. I just scheduled a call.
For lakhs of software people like me in India and Bengaluru especially, we spend a lot of time travelling back and forth from office to home coz of traffic... But in the US it's a different world altogether
Its not that much different in traveling, it takes an average of 30mins. To 1hr to travel to work even more. Depending upon where you are living. Things are not as simple as this video. It does show the good side of it.
From european point of view - this kinda looks almost bit depressing. I mean you don't even get a chance to leave your office on lunch time. Corporate literally almost owns your life. For example in Europe you'd often be having coffee, lunch, and beer in city around the office. If you get fired you can let let the steam off in same bar or coffee shop that you'd often frequent see your colleagues and shit talk about your corporate bosses. If you get fired other there, what is left out of your life for you?

You should see my life as a software engineer in a startup. I need to wear so many hats. I am a Developer, Tester, DevOps, Technical Writer and IT. I always laugh out loud about those guys who show off in "A day in the life as...". It's RIDICULOUS! The only way to be an excellent software engineer is to work hard, get out of your comfort zone (learn new things) and take any opportunities present (take new challenges and risks) without kissing your superior asses or step on your coworker's toes. I got promoted in one year doing that and had a lot of respects from my peers and the CEO.
Okay, I appreciate the fact that these videos are inspiring people to work hard. But it needs to be said that reality is not all that dreamy. One should be aware that these are carefully edited videos mainly showing the fun parts. Just to have an open mind and to have realistic expectations from Silicon Valley helps to appreciate it better. Just my experience. Differs from people to people
