Your videos were one of the biggest contributing factors to be going fire, I just graduated BMT, and have been chilling in the MODS at Tech School for like 4 days now :)
Was an aviation firefighter for 27 years, going from my Royal Air Force training to working at British aerospace Bristol. Then finally a 3 year spell in Saudi Arabia as an AFO . So yes I can simplify with you on what you do, there is still a reluctance to get female firefighters into the service but hopefully this will improve over time! Seems you do things slightly different than I remember, and I’m not one for the theory stuff which was the way things were going in the UK will NVQ’s , basically a piece of paper which says you can do the job! In my experience hands on is more important than pieces of paper! Stay safe. Regards Stephen.
Kira, thank you putting other’s well being ahead of your own, for running towards the threat instead of away from it, for being first in the face of disaster, for being a protector and a warrior at the same time. If no one has told this recently, thank you for being a hero, our hero. So proud of you❤
Had a friend who did his training at Chanute and top of his class. Got to pick his first assignment. Was in late 80's. Knew like Hawaii and Myrtle Beach would never happen. He chose Tyndall in Panama City Beach. Stay Safe
I love your videos so much! As an active duty weather forecaster it’s super interesting and refreshing to see what other jobs do! I admire you so much. that new SZA album is sooo good, especially for a rainy day vibe 🫶🏻
Your videos are amazing!! I’m considering trying again for the Air Force tries when I was 18 didn’t work out then again in 2020 but because of covid that didn’t work either lol so I’m 23 now working for an armored security company and I’ve been thinking about it. I actually wanna do security forces but I have thought about the fire side of it and after seeing this it makes me wanna have SF and fire as like my top two so thank you so much! If I decide to go again I’ll let y’all know but also kinda nervous for basic lol
What are the uniform regs for Air Force firefighters? Like do you have to wear ocps on shift ? Do you respond to calls in ocps or are you allowed to wear standby gear?
We wear fire resistant OCPs M-F from 0730-1530! We respond in OCPs but take our top and boots off to bunk out. But during Wildland season, we’re authorized to wear our blue Wildland pants and our downtime shirt!
@@kirakphillips462 thank you! I always was curious how it worked. It was fun watching this video us (Security Forces) thought y’all just watch tv and sleep all day 😂😂😂

That was a cool video! EPRs are definitely time consuming for sure. I hate doing them andddd I had that same computer issue and it crashed😂 it would not stop
I had aspirations of being a a USAF FF as that's what I wanted to do after my time in, I didn't have requisite depth perception and I scored higher in mechanical so I ended up as a crew chief, no regrets there. I'm a career firefighter now post USAF and am glad I didn't get fire protection, the schedule and the boredom would make for long days. It would be good for schooling however. I work 24's now but have tons of time off.
Civilian fire and Air Force fire are two completely different worlds!! I always recommend if someone wants to BE a firefighter, then to go civilian. Being in NorCal we get busy with Wildland fires during the summer but other than that, we don’t see too much action. Thank you for your service!! I’ve always been curious for the crew cheif afsc
