Thank you for this very straight forward review! Concise yet thorough, and clear. 👏
Thanks For the video. I needed reassurance about buying this.
Thank you for your review I was looking for this in order to buy one
how to choose the size of the printed photo? is it arbitrary or can you print fragments sequentially so that the final printout is of a larger scale? on the film you can see the sizes when you click on the screen .. when you try to change the size with your fingers it does not work. It seems like there are only two options...
I legit just bought this EXACT (well A4 version) one 4 minutes ago. Then, I went on yt, just searched thermal printers for printing documents, and this video is the first I saw. Nice! Can't wait to try mine when it arrives next week.
So now that it's the week after next week did you ever try it?
Yeah any update?
I just saw your comment, how is that printer working out
@@investigator6203 i was surprised how well it works. Love it! I wish I could print on both sides, but it has been useful in printing stuff for my classes. I plan to use it to print things for my art students this summer.
@@memorylane3457 sorry, I just saw this. But my previous comment i just posted answers thus. I definitely recommend it!
Which do you recommend Peripage or phomemo ??
can this print regular 4x6 inch shipping label as well? Using continuous shipping label roll or stack, that is, not feeding one sheet at a time.
Does it have good printing quality?
The app works with my Pixel 7 Pro but my Windows version 11 the driver doesn't work after I install it. Shows the driver as being unavailable. Other than that this printer works just fine, the quality is pretty good. It's hard to believe that by now they don't have an updated driver for Windows 11.
does this printer print thermal lebers
Can you show with font size 4, 6, 8, 10, 12?
How do I get the app?????
Couple of things worthy of note, on Amazon they only seem to offer A4 version in the UK. I wanted this for Tattoo stencils and the A4 version is pretty pointless as most of the high end stencil papers are 8.5 wide US letter so won’t feed into the smaller feed entry of the printer. Also the App is pretty useless for resizing so you need to use a pc or Mac tethered to the USB cable so you can sent resized images to it directly . It also is a bit hit and miss with thermal stencil paper as I do have a few A4 cheap thermal stencil sheets and it will drag them around the feed roller unless you help them through by applying some pull tension on the paper as it feeds through . This isn’t really a reliable replaceable for a brother pocket jet if your thinking it might be.
HI mate, could you advise me on a thermal printer for tattoo stencils and struggling to narrow down on a reasonably priced one. cheers!
@@SOLATEK369 In the end i went with a brother pocket jet PJ-863 , expensive but worth it. You can find the 7 series ones for reasonable money second hand and they are pretty indestructible
@@reefbloke Cheers man,Im kinda stuck with Amazon really, not a great choice but I will have a look, thanks for the quick reply Reef
@@SOLATEK369 see if you can find the US letter version . It’s either that or one of the cheaper generic therma fax type printers that every man and his dog produces . The ones that are quite wide , just found one on Amazon uk called lifebasis so try and search for that as I think they are all more or less the same but different names .That design is widely used by some shops although I’ve not used one myself so no idea if it can print on US letter size paper I’m afraid . It is quite cheap though .you’ll have to do some research . The you tuber art-something did a good video on a similar printer . Also I’d avoid the latest batches of spirit thermal paper, there is something wrong with it lately and it’s widely known in tattoo circles that there is a quality problem . I’ve switched to electrum gold stencil paper ( still us letter size )
I just bought one but it doesn't connect to my iPhone 8 Plus
What is name of app?
Thank you for your vido ...can we use the regular A4 for the regular printer
No, a thermal printer can only print on thermal paper.
How can I get one?
Thermal printers have always been fine. There's no improvements and never needed to be. It's a cool part of early comouter history and refrigerator sized "micro computers" just as dot matrix printers were. These are fun to do program and code dumps with to hardcopy the data on your atari system.
Manufacturer link?
I want one soo badly!
They are about $100 on Temu and like $130 on Amazon. I have one. It might be cheaper to get a $50-100 hp printer with instant ink, though, fyi, as the paper is about 20 cents per print one-sided only. It is worth it for portability and for students, imo, though.
can it be used with photoshop? eliminating the annoying mirroring when using hectographics?
Yes, you just have to mirror it on photoshop
I cannot see the print of the instructions as I am blind as a bat even with my glasses sometimes. I need to know how long it takes to charge it? I thank you in advance.
Just got this exact printer today. Took around two hours to fully charge.
Would the printed papers loose the ink over time like with the little tickets you get from stores?
Yes they would. There are other models that use a ribbon (P831 is one). This lasts a lot longer but you have to replace the ribbon. The advantage is that you can use normal printing paper for these, however, replacing the ribbon actually works out more expensive per print than thermal paper.
If portability and size is your main requirement and you aren't using too often, it may be a good option.
Works great, app needs work. Specifically needs the ability to resize image
Yea definitely sucks not having a measure
Needs to be open sourced and connect as a standard serial printer so you can use any software you want or even no software at all since most computers have printing function built into the operating system.
@@kishascapehow do you do that? I haven’t been able to print anything off the printer from my laptop
How would you print out an e-mail from Yahoo or Google on your phone?
He really didn't answer any questions ⁉️
Could I print on thicker thermal paper, do they do a card thickness one
unfortunately not.
Hello, I'm out of paper, which paper brand should I buy?
Any 8.5x11 thermal paper works. It is about $20 for 200 sheets on Amazon. But don't go smaller (assuming you have the letter size. It doesn't print smaller sheets than what it comes for.
The price is a little high for affordable tech... but I'm thinking about getting one of these thermal printers when the price is lowered.
there is a sale on check it out
Got mine today for $118! Cant wait to use it tomorrow!
I want one of these. How much is the thermal paper and is it really worth it?
listed on the site
Does it take specific paper though?
Yes you need thermal paper. And the version can be different, one prints A4 and the other uses Letter, so make sure you choose the right model for the type of paper you want to print.
Mine is telling it’s overheating and only used three times
better than the peripage one? don't know which one to get to be honest ....
I want to know the same thing but they don’t answer 😭
This seems like the best printer of it's type but jesus Fk cant they just make a little fold out arm spool/ tray/ feeder? Or support Rolls?
Would be nice, have to buy a Brother printer for that, more expensive and better.
Can you use normal a4 paper
On "thermal"??😂😂😂 NO
Does it print in color also?
he said no
So when traveling, not only will you need to carry this printer, but you also have to carry the thermal paper.
No you will have a paper slave that runs after you supplying paper as and when you wish 😂. What a comment.
Looks great, pity the paper is so expensive though.
Depends how you look at it, no more ink, laser printer is probably better, but more expensive.
Do you have to use special paper to print?
yes
@@deanna8635 have you tried printing on normal paper?
yes
@@deanna8635 is it good? And what’s the difference?
Update: what people don’t say about this printer is that you CANNOT print on normal paper. You have to buy their own special paper (it’s like fax paper) to be able to print! :)
NICE BUT IT NEEDS TO DEVELOP INTO COLORED @ LEAST RGB RENDERING.
Can you use this for tattoo stencils
Yes there are videos on it
No.. cannot option print resize
Let's talk about the cost of paper. Maybe you should mention it in your video.
500% price of regular is not a joke and not a bargain.
500% is 6 cents per sheet 😂 you are not supposed to print books on this thing
Shit… not for tattoo stencil…Cannot change the print size
Special paper. Ну таке
What is Fermal paper ? Why cant you Brits pronounce the letter T and H with using the letter F. Its exhausting.
Let's not dwell on your anti-British sentiment. Rather, let's focus on the content and move forward with a positive attitude. Any more questions about 'fermal' paper?
"This is no rocket science", but I can't believe that neither the instruction nor the video start with "charge instructions". How long does it take to charge it? I have been doing it for 2 hours and it still blinks red. How would I know if it is defective or it should take 8 hours to charge this tiny bar? I can't believe that I have to learn it the hard way... I just can't believe that the instruction manual, in three language, no small deal, has no info about the time it takes to charge. And this whole video is sort of useless because the system itself is self-obvious. Except for charging part. I even called the customer service in the US - but one answers. And no instruction online answers this simplest question. Next step will be asking Chat GPT))). I can go to Amazon where I bought it, of course, and ask them but I don't want to leave a bad review before trying the machine.
The quality is fairly poor, to be honest. I have one.
Can normal paper be used instead of thermal paper??
@@Nure-Alam can't, that could lead to fire
@@Nure-Alamcan't use normal paper, it could lead to fire
And the paper is expensive, you save on ink and spend it on paper 😂
Me too :)
so it's slow. quality is terrible and you need to buy expensive special paper :v
dope.
Do not buy
It suxs it will work good for about a month then stop printing will print only the first part then stop half way it’s says to remove paper roll and put back in but there’s no way to remove the paper roll the instruction Manuel doesn’t show how to remove the paper roll there is no how to videos on u tube on how to remove the paper roll I payed almost $300 for this price of crap do not buy
Where did you pay it ? You got ripped of. I payed it for $100 on temu
OH MY GOD THIS IS SUPER SWEET I REALLY WAT THIS LASERPECKER4
