Sorry I missed this. Thank you very much for posting. I'm jealous that it came right in for you! They changed that front pivot point design with the Mk3, but I'm sure it's basically the same. It surprised me that you got so much response from that center tube. I still have some more thinking to do on that. I know that center bulge in the bonnet is common which I what I thought that tube might help with. I'm going to do some more work tomorrow during my visit - I'm not ready to give up yet. Thanks again!
There was something else i noticed about that center bracket. Because it is slotted it allows adjustment forwards and backwards, and when i pushed it forward (the plate and bar) the wheel wells moved down and pushed the the fender wings outwards, and when pulled back it draws the wheel wells up and fender wings in.(something i didn't think about till after i posted the video.) The backwards and forwards as well as the skew of the bonnet seems to be controlled by the tubes that run from the clam hinge up over the wheel wells. The adjustments at the claim hinge also controls forward and backward as well as up an down with the rubber stoppers that are at the rear of the bonnet. Maybe loosening the center adjustment and the ones on the wheel wells then pulling the center one back while leaving the wheel well brackets free to let the tube move side to side will get rid of that hump in the middle? I think i might look at that tomorrow and see if that is the case. worst case scenario....it doesn't change anything or makes it worse....that's work on a British car....LOL Good luck with your adjustments....Cheers!!
hi... noticed you lifted the bonnet using the latches. you don't lift the bonnet from the latches or paint cracks will form. you lift by sliding your fingers underneath bonnet line to rocker.... or from the the wheel well. cheers.

Chris you are very welcome....I wish I had this medium years ago when I first started restoring the 67....I would have done things differently....
