    Thank you, Randy, for your shared knowledge on the Porsche car of our present time. I , as a woman, have been interested in all aspects of the "Porsche" car since my mate, Fred Sebald, first brought a 1950's Porsche 356, Silver coupe home to me and our two small babes...in 1957. I am still the owner and driver of my original, Black, 1966 911 Porsche...vin 302.246 that we bought in Stuttgart, Germany in September 1965...at the small factory. I still own and drive this 911 only for short drives in the Fall, and for sharing at the Sierra Nevada Region PCA events....here in Reno. My daughter and I have enjoyed this car for more than 51 years of our good lives. The car is still "loved" and chosen as a special Black Beauty...wherever I go to share it. Gramma Pat Bauderer....now of Reno.

    Proud of the heritage of the 911... as a new 992 owner, the evolution of this car is the benchmark in my mind. As an aside, I get a kick out of telling Porsche Macan owners that my car has more in common with a VW Beetle than their car, and watching the look of shock on their face.

    Dear Randy tremendous history lesson on one of the most iconic cars. However, may I point out a small misinterpretation on one of the Hillclimb pictures showing Eberard "Ebbs" Mahle, not on the Schauinsland hill climb but the 1966 version of the Bavarian Roßfeld Hillclimb in Berchtesgaden, close to the eagle's nest. The year where he won the European hillclimb championhip. He did a revival stint in the very same car in 2016 on the now called International Edelweiß -Bergpreis Roßfeld Berchtesgaden. Unfortunately you can not post any fotos here but I have proof of that. Best regards.

    I've read a book called Peter Falk 33 Years of Porsche. This guy mentions many men who were in the book and according to the book Porsche was racing way before the inception of the 901/911.
    Peter Falk and another guy were backed by Porsche to race a modified version of the 356 in various races throughout Europe.
    Peter Falk did play an integral role in the development of the 911 but Porsche was competitively racing years before the 911.

    • @porscheguy09
      @porscheguy09 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Eric Elkins Porsche was racing from the very beginning starting with the 356 and won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1951 in a 356. Before that Dr. Ferdinand Porsche was designing race cars for other manufacturers. This video is only about the 911's racing history not all Porsche cars.

      @@porscheguy09 The fact it covers only 911 cars is not stated. He states Porsche racing started with the 911. That is misleading and not true.

    On 21:56 its not Jurgen.. Its again Sobek Zasada - polish champion's car. And.. You mention about years 66-67 and there is no any word about Zasada genius driver and his 912 when he won Euro Championship on Piech demand . That time it was World title (today WRC). There was a huge success for Porsche guys. Ferry Porsche was not fully conviced into rally so Polish driver started under PL plates with full factory support.
    There is also shame that is no story with 914's what started in Rally and Marathon, LeMans etc with great scores.
