This is a misleading title. Roku and Fire Stick do not run Android TV. They run their own Operating Systems and are not running Android TV.

Roku IS NOT Android. You cannot install apps for android, but only just a few apps that are available for Roku. So be aware.
I find it interesting that this is all about Android devices but I am seeing two items that made your top five list Roku and Amazon which do not run anything in relation to Android and with that being said the Google Chromecast with Google TV in any version was not mentioned at all. 🤔🤔🤔
How did the FireStick become a "box" ?? There are many good Android boxes out there, the only 2 worth considering on this list is the Shield and the Xiaomi. A word of advice ..... do not by a box that has a remote with proprietary streaming channel buttons.
I use TiVo 4K and it’s been a great companion for years, I have 2 of them and they work just fine and allows you to install any app you would like thanks to the downloaded…
One this is the luck of storage 4.5GB that runs so many streaming apps from all over the world.

I used to have trouble with android boxes. That is until i bought a laptop cooler and set them on it. Now they can play night and day with no problem.
Nvidia Shield is the only choice for consistent support. It's constantly updated. If you're really serious about multimedia Android boxes, this is where it starts and ends
I must have gotten a dud. My Shield always has trouble loading Netflix and USA Today, to the point where I tried a Firestick 4K Max and it works flawlessly and it is a lot cheaper. I know the Shield has more storage etc. but because I'm not gaming on TV, it makes the Firestick better for me. And they update regularly.
@@Bambam21476 Not sure why you had that issue I have two shields, and my friends have a few Zero issues...
I don't game with my shield, it's updated regularly and it just offers you more options than the firestick...
But the 4k firestick is nice and very fast.
@@AskChef ....I usually have to reboot the Shield every time I want to watch Netflix as it gets to 79% and just buffers forever. I even did a factory reinstall and the issue persisted. I called Netflix and Nvidia forums but no real answers. I have a gig download speed so I guess I just have a dud. As I said, the Firestick Max is fast and has no trouble opening anything.

@@AskChef ....I have the "tube" version and have a micro SD card in one end, so no external drive.

If I'm not a "gamer" but all my devices - phone is Samsung S21Ultra, tablet Samsung tab 8+, LG 2022 C2 Oled and Dell desktop all in one Windows ( 9yrs old) which don't fit the Apple ecosystem! I need a better solution than Roku Ultra or Streaming stick, and have just.bought an Onkyo receiever and JBL speakers to replace my Sony soundbar. I would jump to the Nvidia but I've heard they don't pair well for the 5.1 or 7.2 audio? I have avoided Apple but I don't have anything against it, but I want something that's consistent. Can anybody tell me if I would be better off with the Apple TV or Nvidia Shield? I watch a ton of tv/ movies and music, so that would be primary use. Can anybody help me, please? Thx!
Any chance you tested it with an external 5TB drive?. The old media play that I've got can only read up to 2TB

The fire tv stick by Amazon does NOT run android. It runs Amazons own fire O/S so really should not be in this review ( not to mention it's garbage too ).

Shield is not a iptv box. Its a gaming box. The Formuler Z11 pro is a iptv box and will play iptv out of the box. No need for player addons.
