So now I am crying. Your client’s message was the chef’s kiss- a perfect reaction to a work of art that is beyond spectacular. No matter what you would have priced it at -it wouldn’t have been enough. It’s that magnificent. Thank you for sharing. I loved watching every single minute.
That furniture piece is MASSIVE! I hope your client can truly appreciate the work you've done. Every artist has a limited number of things they will create in their lifetime. A gift we got to see it!
Martyn picked the perfect music. It was ENCHANTING with that Scottish mystical whimsy. Watching you hand paint to that music was superb!! This is outstanding!
😮❤😮❤😮❤ What a wonderful work of art! Thank you both so much for sharing this journey. Just incredible. I would love to see it placed in their home. I'm so happy I found your channel.
A beautiful piece of furniture art along with sage advice about business practices involving communication, setting expectations and boundaries not only pertaining to furniture art but also any type of small business venture. Bravo, Lel and Martin!
You never disappoint and i would watch you paint whatever the hell you wanted! Love the little creatures. Martyn once again great musical accompaniment.
Don't ever talk about a boring video Lel. For two years I have been inspired, amazed, amused, taught, and charmed. Never bored. Thank you for all the fun and enjoyment you have given me. Happy new year❤
First, I love your sweater, the black with the pink polka dots. The furniture: You've created a fairy tale out of a piece of furniture. Whimsy meets wonder i know the client wanted specific things. I would love to know why she wanted young animals, not pointed noses. So specific. She wanted woodland, flowers and berries. Did she ask for birds, or did you decide to add them? She may have given you all her requirements, but you decided where to place them, something I've watched you do 100 times, but each time that's what makes appreciate your eye. That's a gift. I know you've crreated, drawn and painted your decoupage paper, but watching you hand paint this enormous piece showcases your talent to another level. I've watched you add hand paint elements added to your decoupage paper, but this is the first time I've seen you hand paint an entire piece. Even though the video was speeded up, I watched how you painted the animals. You started the fox with his ears first. I would have added them at the end which I can see would have been a mistake. They would have looked tacked on. The most impressive thing for me was your ability to paint with ease the realistic animals . I didn't see you use a template or even a sketch of a fox or badger as reference. How many animals live in your head?😂 I honestly can't find the adequate words to describe your work and I scoured my ancient, falling apart thesaurus. It was useless. I'm curious as to why the client wanted the the witch. Is she able to communicate with animals? Did she summon them? What inspired you to add the moon. And why did you paint her from behind? I loved that choice. Price: I don't know what you asked. Whatever it was, you should have multiplied it by 4. You'll have another chance though, because once you put this on your website, everybody 's going to want hand painted pieces.😱 i love the russet red on the inside. back. Was that already there, or did you create if? If you didn't create how would you have done it? Paprika and....a touch of Honfleur? Or black? I didn't catch the name of the green. Coolibar? As usual, I've written an entire book of questions . You can always tell me to bug off. I know how busy you are. 😂😂😂😂😂 Thank you both for this spectacular tutorial Marty, your camera work and the speed you chose for Lel's painting was perfect. Fast, but easy to clearly see her method and details . 🙏♥️🙏♥️🙏
Thanks for liking my jumper, the clients wishes were very specific. And She told me she was a moon witch, and she loved animals. I didn't sketch it out I used a pencil here and there so I knew where things were going to start. Glad you liked my fox, I thought he may have looked a little better with a pointy face. The background colour was capri pink it's jyst not showing as bright under the studio lights. And the green was capability green. I will tell you privately what I charged the customer.... 😂😂😂😂 Lel x
Whimsical and Wonderful! It's a stunner without a doubt. Your client will be thrilled with the final result. Loved watching you hand paint all the details, which seemed never ending. I always get caught up trying to make things as perfect as I can, which is just frustrating and takes forever to feel it's finished. Gotta allow myself to just paint good enough and not get caught up worrying how perfect it looks.... Thank you for an uplifting Sunday morning, I needed a boost today. Much love and affection to you both Postscript: Martyn, the music was a perfect background to Lel's fast paced painting. Always enjoy your choices of music that you conclude with. A perfect team!
Folk meets whimsical art. Free hand painting is a big bonus. Thank you for all your wisdom on doing a commission. Learned a lot ❤ It's just beautiful 😍
GuuurrrL…you are supremely phenomenal Artist! Thanks for sharing the ins/outs of commissions. Would love a decoupage set with enchanted forest, woodland creatures. 🐿️🦡🦊🐇🦌🦉🦔🦝🐻🦫🦨
I enjoy watching you paint free hand. It’s just mesmerizing to me. I used to paint with my grandma as a young girl. Of course all of her things always looked so beautiful to me. Mine always looked so different. lol but looking back at those memories now what wonderful memories I have. I have most of her paintings though out my home now. Makes me want to pick it back up. Anyway just a beautiful piece of work! Thank you for sharing your work and knowledge with us. God Bless you and your family.
Well done, Lucky lady customer. I’ve done many things where I gave more than I was paid. Part of that problem was because I have high standards for my work. I never want to turn in something that isn’t my very best. The other part is when I figure out my time for the bid, I need to multiply that times three at least.🤣
Yes I've never made this bad an error, I swear it looked half the size in the customers home . Well we live and we learn and she was thrilled so it made it all better.... I think 😂😂😂
As beautiful as the piece your creating I couldn't help but let my eye wonder. Love the design behind you lel. Blue door frame, stunning flowers encased in a gold diamond pattern. I will now sit and back continue watching and be in awe.
Loved everything about this video From your honesty about commissions to watching you hand paint the entire piece . how many times have we all realized that we quoted in the clients favour no matter what type of work All I know is this is one lucky client Great music ❤
Love this Lel. I am an artist but not a furniture artist. I know how much work and time it takes to paint a piece like this. I hope the customer appreciates this masterpiece you painted for her.
I mean. It really is just stunning. I love the colours. I love the beasties and your interpretation of them. And you are just a rockstar with the hand painting. Total feels about the cost/labour. I've already done that way too much and spend so much time(because you must. It's who we are) and product on things. I just don't think many people understand that. To me that big ole bunny is worth a big honkin' pile of diamonds. BRAVA. AMAZING.
It's really lovely. The colours are beautiful and I love the witch. I think the next topic should be "How to finish". Loads of people talk of creative block but I have hundreds of ideas and always start strong but sometimes after heaps of fixing and waiting for layers to dry and endless steps I take ages to actually finish and post things for sale 🤣🧡🧡🧡
Oh I suffer from that Linda so so badly..... I think you need marty he makes me finish.... I get very over hand painting after a week or so, I start strong but can't go the long distance.... Thank goodness I'm not an athlete.... Yes I think there's a video in that marvelous idea.... You have inspired me... Thanks ❤️❤️❤️❤️
You can do it! That's how I started small things and worked my way up.... The thing I started to work on early was positioning it has helped as I've improved.... I used to be terrible 😭
Just at the beginning as I'm writing this. Couldn't help but laugh at the list of all the things she wants on the piece. When you got to 'witches' I almost choked on my coffee! 😅😅😅 You're very brave. And of course, talented.
Hilarious isn't it...... Your nit the only one with a raised eyebrow but the client loves it.... I'm glad she might hex me.... Joking she was fabulous x
Im so glad I watch this, Im just starting a wee business from home, I should have put a few pieces up for sale however procrastination is kinds my middle name, plus it’s a bit scary…I’ve loved watching you paint this, it’s absolutely stunning, not many folk painting by hand, I love it 😊
14:45 FANTASTIC! you never disappoint. And......I spy some very interesting things in the room .... wondering what they are. The panel I can see beside you is cool.
This piece is phenomenal & I love to see you doing the hand painting (it's so rare now). Martyn, I love getting a close look at the wall electrical. It's SO different than here in the states! LOL (the strange things I notice). The little animals can be baby foxes & badgers, hahaha, with little round faces 😂It's SO beautiful!
Many thanks! Cat, it's funny I also look at American electrics..... Maybe we should house swap to play with each others electricity.... Hope we don't blow up 😂😂😂
A beautiful piece. I’m sure there has been many, many hours put into this piece. I have done commissions before and it seems difficult to actually get what all your time, not just he painting but laying out the plane , choose colors 🤔 figuring a charge $
I will not praise ( while I am green with envy 😊), just a quick question this time: what are those first two colors in a tube containers - acrilic paint?
