This one of your best videos I think for beginners. Your artwork and creativity are always out of bounds. The distressing of this piece makes sense and looks easier to do…just wonderful and so worth a rewatch. Martin’s comments are so cute and he is encouraging. Keep calm and Frottage on…❤
Beautiful! I had the same thing happen with glue and gold leaf. It was still sticky. I took some dixie dirt, basically mica powder with no shine, just dark dust. The dust stuck, and toned down my gold, and got rid of the sticky. That brown wax water base and will dry cure and stay put.
The jar doesn't tell me what is actually in it, Lavonne may know. I have same jar for years, charcoal 4 Oz. It reminds me of mica powder base with just dark pigment in it. Very fine will stick to wax right away. Stuck to my sticky glue right away. Kind of looks like real dirt!
Got so much out of this I've always had anxiety about cutting up the transfers but knew it was necessary to make something that wouldn't just be a repeat Part of it is just being yourself and trusting your own creative process and not copying someone else's Learn so much watching you Always great always fun When I saw the transfer I thought ...mmm, not a big fan But watching what you did with it was a learning curve in showing how individual interpretation changes everything, (it came out great, love the co!ors) Thank you guys See u next Sunday 😍
Love this Refresher transfer video! The foil from artistic designs is the one I used and I loved it! No problems but I used a soft bristle brush to burnish it! Also love the colors and chinoiserie affect with the transfer!🩵
@glendamason8379 I've seen ( Brushed by Brandy ) attack Art foil with a nail scrubbing brush. Perhaps that's the ticket? Another amazing piece Lel! It looks quite romantic. ❤
I’m never bored with frontage and transfers. Soooo much fun. And i am in love with the watery stencil also. Love the colours and beautiful transfer. I’m loving the pops of colour
sorry off topic, but how do I purchase one of Annie Sloan mix mat? I love your art, I look forward every Sunday morning with my coffee watching you create, today is know different. The wind is bad in southern Ontario, right off Lake Ontario.
Annie sells them on her website I believe. There are about $30 USD. Seems expensive but Lel says they are wonderful and clean up easily. She may comment here too.
Hop onto the Web and Google your nearest Annie Sloan stockist they will have mix mats on there website most likely. If your stuck sue or email Sales@madebymarley.co.uk marty will help you get one ❤️❤️❤️
I do love using mixed media on my furniture, I’ve used everything except decoupage paper which is on my next thing to do list, I use CeCe’s transfers a lot, cut and add to my pieces, I’ve never used any of them as a place it and job done, I know that CeCe cuts transfers and does mix them up. I find it really therapeutic, even the ooopses…….this is beautiful, the camera work and music is fab 😊
My fake vintage microwave had a serious malfunction. I gutted it and covered it in transfers. Now my new proofing box is perfect for display. Works 😊 I was watching the winds that hit Scotland after they covered the South with snow, in Florida? 🤪 stay warm.
Another fantastic video, Lel! I'm consistently inspired by you and your esthetic! You are a treasure. Regards to Martin, who is the best sidekick on TH-cam.
On a serious note...this is bloody gorgeous 😍 I went to buy some of those foils once and it said you had to buy the glue that went with them so I balked. Maybe it's a special glue and not gold leaf size 🤷 Very much too hard basket anyway. Glad you survived the storms 🧡🧡🧡
I think the difference you noticed was foil vs leaf - I recently did a bowl and put some foil on the adhesive and took a long time to get the sticky gone- not as in your face as leaf for sure- I’ve seen the product page use a tooth brush to get in to any nooks and crannies
I have a question about wax.. when I used clear wax and dark wax and buffed it off.. the piece feels like butter.. then in time a re-wax with clear my rag/cloth seems to pull off the dark wax even months later? Also this is a great video and pretty makeover of a white box.

Love the blue and orange, this is what i love!!!!!😍
The best you made.
Thank you! Cheers!
Truthfully I wasn't sure how I felt about this transfer. You made it beautiful!! The more you forged on the prettier it got .
Kathy I wasn't a fan but I made it work. It was a little bit not me but I hit it there in the end x

Is dixie dirt good Dar?

Great instructions! Beautiful transformation from boring to glorious!

Eek that paprika colour looks amazing 😍
Oh it is a beautiful colour
I really like the foil it's more realistic and a lot less messy than the other types of foil. The piece is wonderful as always.

Yes Glenda maybe it's user error.... Thanks for letting me know.... X x
@@MadebyMarley I wasn’t thinking user error I was thinking different foil. Was it artistic designs?

Hi, beautiful again. Can you show what you do with the drawer lips when you pull then out, please.
I just completely left them as the drawers were way to tight to apply paibt.... Hope this helps

Top tip Patti.... Will use a tooth brush x
Artistic paint studio and furniture facelift by kobi have videos on foils- but definitely not as satisfying as leaf❤
