Joe, you are such a great dad! I was Army for 22 plus years and my approach to waking everyone up, even my own kids was more akin to rattling a trash can! You get father of the year award every year in my book. You fill up the fire box, you cook, you get everyone up! You’re so encouraging to your kids. On your winter trips you go make sure your parents cabin is ok! I wouldn’t listen ever to the Negative Nellies that post on here, most are only saying negative stuff because they don’t have the ambition, or fortitude to do what you’ve done! Love your videos and keep it up!
I have watched countless videos about deer hunting, camp, etc., and I have to say that your creation with the family, hunting and camp life is one of the most enjoyable ever. Looking forward to many more!
During my high school days, every Saturday during the winter we used to snow shoe in the woods in the morning, then stop and make a fire and have lunch. The kippered snacks were always part of my lunch menu. They go really nice with the smoke of the camp fire. It's good to know you like them too.
A lot of great video. Went hunting this morning here in central Florida. It was 31 degrees and windy when I headed in to my stand at 5:30 this morning. Nothing moved. There are some dog hunters not too far from here. I could hear the dogs start to run then stop several times off and on all morning. The cold front that moved through seemed to run the deer to ground. I will just have to try again in the morning. Good luck to you all, stay safe and thanks for the video.
+dalton vickers Thank you and good luck. Here at this time of the year the deer lay low when it gets warm because they have there heavy winter coat of fur so they try and stay cool by not moving around. I imagine down there where its usually warm they probably curl up when it gets cold so they can stay warm. Thanks again. Joe
Fantastic, what a great Journey that video was, I could fall in love with that Cabin, Thank You for keeping me watching, it was a real honour too see you making use of something so nice in a great setting..Respect from the UK
I felt like was there. Wilderness hunting at its finest, with some nice accommodations. Happy safe trails and hunting to all of you fine folks. Thanks for sharing your hunting adventures with all of us.
Cant believe i missed this video!!! Awsome Joe!!! Just loved the way you humanely handled that Marten.. even giving it water!! That was awsome!!! Thirsty little boy he was. Keep up the vids!!
Another great vid. Thank you for making and sharing it. It was slow here in NY as well this season. It's not always about killing a deer. It also about the time in the woods with family and friends. I tell people all the time, the best memories you will ever have is time spent in the outdoors. Hunting, fishing, hiking, or camping. You nail that feel with each vid you make. Let us know how that way of making ribs works out. I am a fan of low and slow over coals, or indirect heat.
I love your videos. Yall aren't fake like a lot of people. Yall are really traditional and that is what hunting is all about. Keep working hard on your tags. Good luck!
+Free As A Bird Thank you for the nice comment. This one took the longest to edit of any video I have done and was the second hardest one to edit. The worst was duck hunting opener 2014 the movie because some of the camera footage was from go pro cameras which are huge files for the computer to handle. I see a new desktop tower in my future which would help alot. Thanks again. Joe
What a wonderful video Joe! thanks again for taking the time to make it. I know it's a ton of work, but we all enjoy, and appreciate it immensely. I was chomping at the bit all last week hoping to see it lol. Thanks again, and good luck next time out.
hi, joe great show the only one I follow, on u tube.you are very blessed to have such great kids.you done a great job raising them.I believe Sara is your sidekick. just wanted to say thanks for allowing us to be a part of your journey. I know you love your kids, but wait until the grandchild gets here.. will be waiting on your next video stay safe & god bless
Fantastic video I was glued to the iPad wishing I was there.the tent looked super loved the beautiful wood stove you ate like kings you don't have to shoot something every time to have a great time you sure are lucky to have that lifestyle cheers Dean.
+Dean Morriss Thank you Dean. I will be going up again in the next couple weeks and doing the lake ice crossing to get there. Stay tuned. Thanks again. Joe
Really liked your video. I'm from Philadelphia Ms. we have lot's of deer but not so much snow. Hope next hunt works out good for you, but I can see you really enjoy the out doors and that's what it's all about. God bless and catch you next time.
I had the same experience. First time I've done deer camp with my son, we had a great week. Heard a lot of shooting, saw a few deer, did not take any shots. GREAT video.
I really in joyed your video thanks for taking us along and I have to go cook something to eat now bc after watching this with all that beautiful cooking you guys were doing made me so hungry lol better luck next time.
+Dennis Long I am hungry for either Jambalaya, maybe a beef chuck roast on charcoal or even the Tacos were delicious. It must be supper time Lol. Thank you. Joe
Just watching this again...looking forward to the 2017 deer camp movie! I see you marinating that meat in the beginning with the State Fair Spiedie Marinade! That’s a product that comes from my hometown! We have a food kind of invented here in upstate NY called the Spieide. It can be any type of meat chunked up and marinated, grilled on skewers then eaten on a roll or Italian bread. Most common are chicken, pork or beef spiedies. We even have a Spiedie Fest here every year! That’s just awesome to see it sold in markets around the US!
Awesome video Joe. Always looking forward for more. Maybe you should call it Joe, Zach and Sara Survival. You have great kids that love the outdoors and doing it with you. These are memories that will last a life time. You raised them well.
I don't comment too often, but dang I love your videos. I've watched every tent video 3 times now. haha. Keep at it, Joe. I'll keep watching and liking!
Another great video Joe. I know it took a long time and I was going through withdrawals checking every day, but so worth the wait. You are a wonder dad and a great American. Better luck next time......and thank you so much!!!!
Well I had to wait until I watched this a second time before I commented. Absolutely awesome video, as always you capture what it's all about. We wait all year for deer season to arrive and this video shows why. Family, friends, nature and good food. Not to mention all the anticipation that comes with each day. Thanks for the great video. Regards Mark
Another awesome video Joe! Been looking forward to this one all year. Perfect timing to get me even more excited for my upcoming deer camp here in Pennsylvania.
Just found your TH-cam site. I loveit! You are living life like my husband and I did before he passed. I hope to get back to living like this again soon. While you are MN living the life I was in ME living the life. Now in FL but craving the 4 seasons and better living. Hope to be out of FL soon.Great work, keep the posts coming.
Love your video's. Just recently found your channel. Your stuff is right up my alley. Love the "tent". Keep enjoying the outdoors and the way of life you enjoy. Cheers,dc
I love the channel, My wife and I are buying 20 acres in Itasca Co next week and we are looking forward to doing the same thing. Clearing the land building a cabin all by our self.
we never had to have an alarm clock opening day to get up , alarm clock wasnt needed till the last week , 4 weeks hunt here , every body was up long before needed with anticipation and its still that way
+J297WFD Its a very cool contrast and its so pretty when it snows like that and the lake is not froze over. Once the lake is covered in ice and snow its just plain cold looking lol. Thank you. Joe
+Neil Shubert They act real bad ass and could more than likely tear me up but then I would feed them or give them water and they were a whole other animal. Thank you. Joe
Congratulations on the 100000 subscribers Joe! You deserve every success! I hope I can be half the dad you are to my three daughters. Take care from Cornwall, UK :-)
Aliens hey! lol you need to stop watching Independence Day! Looks so beautiful with a light dusting of snow. Better luck next time! Great video mate really enjoyed it.
I ordered one of these knives from the website. It has a decent feel to the handle and a nice edge. Very light feel to it as well, it should be good for skinning and I hope to try it out this deer season.
Thanks Joe your the reason I can't find kipper snacks at my local Kroger's store down here in North Alabama lol I love those little fisheys enjoyed the video
hi JOE, great video, it's always nice to have family at deer camp. maybe next trip you will GET THAT BUCK. hope you in joyed the marinade and seasoning . Sara handles that gun very well . no wolfs this year
Great video. Joe. I cant go hunting this year cause I gotta go for back surgery but watching this video I feel like I went hunting with you. I Hope you got a chance to go back up for one more try. Your channel is one of my favorites and watch every video you post.
And thanks for turning me on to those slice potatoes holy crap are those things good they come in real handy when you're camping and stuff that's for damn sure
+Mathew Walworth Fried canned potatoes are the best. They taste different than if you slice and fry fresh ones. I am glad you like them also and your right they are a perfect camping side dish.
Ahh bad luck mate, sometimes it just doesn't work out. That being said, I always love the food you cook up there! You eat like a king! Keep up the good work! Cheers, ASC. P.S. It's good to see a family hunt together!
+Australian Shooting Channel Thank you for the nice comment. If I ever get to Australia I need to try and catch some Yabbies. Everyone says they are bigger than what we have here. For now I will continue to try and get my deer every year and keep enjoying the Tent cooking. Thanks again. Joe
Another good movie. Bummer you didn't see anything you could shoot. Those Pine Martins are kinda cute. I know guys who trap for them and can't catch a single one and you got 2. lol That's the way to make them trappers jealous.
love the videos! you go to great trouble to capture details that seem insignificant such as whipping snow off the truck and kranking it up. but these details actually make the film what it is. it's a lot of work setting the camera up and capturing it. thank you!
Great video. enjoyed every minute. You folks know how to do deer camp up right. More people went into the outdoors I think the Country would be a better place.
+Carolina Prepper Thank you. I had over 7 hours of video footage, it took me over 9 hours to edit it and I only had some of the evening to do it so it took all week. The file was so big that my computer could not handle it so as I edited it would chop through the video footage so most of the editing was done by sound since the video would lag behind. The computer would not let me watch the finished video while it was still a "project", it would just have sound and freeze the video so I had to let it render and compress the video which took a total of about 8 hours after I did the 3 step process. Once that was done it was then just a long video and all the clips were not with it in the memory. So after 17 hours I could finally watch it and see how I did. I was lucky this time and did not have to go back and re edit something and the then go through the rendering process again. I see a couple little mistakes I made but no double clips or anything. Then with the crappy dsl internet I have here at the house (its the fastest I can get here) it took about 21 hours to upload. Please watch the commercials, I need a new computer. hahahaha. Thank you for the nice comment. Joe
JoeandZachSurvival was you able to get a new computer 💻? I always try to watch all the ads. They don’t pay much but it adds up the more people watch them.
loved the movie thanks. My two weeks hunting in northern maine i had the same results but it was still a good time.I think last years deep snow killed the deer off
+Rob Bobcat A bad winter really does some damage to the deer herd. In MN the wolves can get them so easy with the deep snow and there is much less browse for them to eat so they get weak. This winter seemed fairly mild and last winter was not real bad but the prior winter was a real bad one. I am hoping that now that 2 seasons have passed since the bad winter the numbers will be moving back upwards. Good luck in Maine and stay tuned for this years videos this fall. Let me know how you do this coming season. Thank you. Joe
throw the foil wrapped spuds in the camp fire, taste wonderful and done in half an hour, split open slather with butter and cream yummy. Spuds wrapped in a thick wad of wet newspapers will taste as good. You can use casava or sweet potatoes too
Aide from all the honest hunting adventures, the camera, angles, sequencing and image stability is excellent. Saw a little shake when deer were spotted. :-)
Hey I was going back in time to check out some of the older ones ..my Q is do people trap pine martin's use their fur ...I'm happy you released them..thanks for the great videos ...BE WELL!!!!
Nice video, I like your camp. What size is your tent? How about your addition? How many years have you had it set up and how many years do you expect to get out of it?
Great video/movie! I watched this one on the big screen w/ a bowl of popcorn and an ice cold one! Lol! Too bad you didn't fill your tags this time, hopefully those numbers will come back up for y'all next yr! @zach I love the deerslayer rifle sling! Rikkoshaye good luck hunting the rest of the season😉
+cigarcaptain I wanted to cut up my deer this year the old way it use to always be done with the bone in. A bone in deer chop is so awesome. Work is crazy and it doesnt help that I fly to Louisiana for thanksgiving this year. Sara is hunting them behind the barn here at the house so we shall see. Thank you. Joe
U did Er again, Joe; Exceptional video with Family Keeping the Tradition Alive. Thanks 4 sharing. Good Luck Filling your tag Friend......................................ATB Terry......God Bless
So whats the recipe for your Jumbo Lie? It looks like a family special. Love these videos at deer hunting season. Just like my brothers cabin but without the smells.!!!
+Margie Claire Leone When I make the Jambalaya I just use Zatarains I buy at the store and then add sausage. Melissa says that stuff sucks and she has a different type she likes down in Louisiana. I think it all tastes delicious. I fly down to Louisiana this coming Wednesday and across the street from Melissas they have Jambalaya Saturday and you can buy it right out in front of the store. The scoop it out of a big cast iron pot. I think that is the best and will be having some this coming Saturday. Thank you. Joe
+ExplodingScience Thank you. I think next year I may try to stay the whole 2 weeks. That would be a 2 hour movie. I hope I get a deer in there somewhere lol. Thanks again. Joe

@@JoeandZachSurvivalI would love to be a special guest on ur show
I'm watching this in June 2019. Somehow I must have missed this one. It's like finding one extra beer right at the back of the fridge.
This made me miss my own dad. Cherish these times, they warm the heart when a loved one is gone for whatever reason.

So true
Love watchimg these older deer season vids. Getting closer!! November 15th here! Good luck this year Joe and crew!

I have to say these videos are highly addictive

I've been waiting for this since I saw the pine martin capture.
Great video again.
I love the channel, My wife and I are buying 20 acres in Itasca Co next week and we are looking forward to doing the same thing. Clearing the land building a cabin all by our self.
I even got popcorn for this one. No luck on the deer but the tradition goes on.
Loved it again this year! Have a very Happy Thanksgiving!
Smitdog here, I must say, you put together some good videos, I have watched a number of them and quite enjoyed them all. Good job!
we never had to have an alarm clock opening day to get up , alarm clock wasnt needed till the last week , 4 weeks hunt here , every body was up long before needed with anticipation and its still that way
It's so beautiful after the snow! Love the video, thanks.
+J297WFD Its a very cool contrast and its so pretty when it snows like that and the lake is not froze over. Once the lake is covered in ice and snow its just plain cold looking lol. Thank you. Joe
I would think planting a food plot in that clearing field would draw lots of deer to you during the cold, snowy seasons.
Great video!
me personally don't use a food plot. i dont think its real hunting to bait the deer. i just let them come find me. then boom
It is not baiting fucker is is just replacing the normal grass with rye that will last the cold
Come on C Joe, you really do not have to use an expletive to get your point across.
That was awesome! Can't wait to get out there! Hoping to fill the freezer this year. Hopefully between 3 of us we can get it done. Thanks for posting!
+Elite Focus Entertainment Let me know how you do. Thank you. Joe
Another great video Joe, I really enjoy watching your videos. Keep up the good work brother.
+MrDstapleton77 Thank you for the nice comment. Joe
Great video, those pesky pine martins are adorable! Nice to see him drinking. Thanks
+Neil Shubert They act real bad ass and could more than likely tear me up but then I would feed them or give them water and they were a whole other animal. Thank you. Joe
I love watching you do your cabin meals. I enjoyed this video,....it sure is beautiful up there.
+wildchook (Mary) Thanks Mary. I could go for a BBQ chuck roast right about now lol. I am glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks again. Joe
Just watched this for the second time. Great video.

Thank you. Joe
Joe- "its 20 minutes after 4 guys, time to start thinking about blazing it" lol
dang nice video just watched it all lol that sucks when u don't c deer. makes it hard to get up every morning n go
Just awesome rather you guys see one or not it just is really cool to be out there and a really nice set up cabin and all
throw the foil wrapped spuds in the camp fire, taste wonderful and done in half an hour, split open slather with butter and cream yummy. Spuds wrapped in a thick wad of wet newspapers will taste as good. You can use casava or sweet potatoes too
Aide from all the honest hunting adventures, the camera, angles, sequencing and image stability is excellent. Saw a little shake when deer were spotted. :-)
If they would have had horns it would have been a very noticeable shake. LOL. Thank you. Joe

Thank you. Joe
+JoeandZachSurvival ... Zatarains ... Great stuff . I mix in cooked ground beef .
Great movie...as always.. Thanks!
