I just purchased a few spanx air essentials items. My first spanx purchase. I need "tall" pants and was thrilled they offer tall in many pants styles! I ordered two pairs of the wide leg pants, a polo shirt, and zip up track jacket. Probably over $550 in lounge wear. I've never seen these advertised, as I only use YT and am not on social media, i just thought they looked nice and loved the tall option. It's past the return window, but I've still not worn any items yet and I'm scared to! I found your video while looking up "ways to care for spanx air essentials" because I realized there were negative reviews on the spanx website about pulling and piling, but only after I'd purchased 😢 I appreciate your video and hopefully others have their hard earned money for comparable clothing of better quality. I'm tempted to sell the items while they're brand new, to save myself the heart ache and recoup some of the money spent. I haven't seen a way promoted by anyone yet for how to wear, wash, or care for these items without them being damaged. Should I sell them and cut my losses? I also appreciate any "dupe" recommendations you have that sell talls/longs, because I really do love the feel of the material. 💔
The dupe I find incredibly close and not horrible on price is this set on Amazon. amzn.to/4cKLAMF. It’s 50 dollars instead of 200 dollars and over. Let me know your thoughts. I know for me. Cannot buy Spanx anymore. Just a waste of money. Check the label on the Spanx and be sure to follow directions on label if you keep the clothes.

I just know that if I wear the spanx sets that I'll be nervous the whole time that they'll get ruined by something miniscule that shouldn't ruin your clothes, since so many women have had that happen with the air essentials.... I thought I was the only one! I wore the viral air essentials set on my flight from LAX to Australia and I literally threw the pants in the trash in the bathroom trash mid flight! They immediately pilled and snagged! What a huge waste of money! I 💯 % agree with you!
So confused why every influencer is posting about how amazing they are! Sometimes I have to wash it 3 times inside out and I still get spots and the pilling is horrible! When you first receive it yes it looks incredible and within two wears it looked horrible. Thanks for spreading the word because the cost of this is insane.

I love all my pieces and I have a lot. I only buy on sale and on thread up. Im in love and have washed mine so many times. I make sure I treat it if I get a spot on it and the spot always comes out. I would never pay full price though.
@princessbarbiecheer you can’t. I don’t get it. I’ve tried spot cleaning. I’ve tried washing inside out on cold. Delicate. The material is a weird combination to make it soft which in my opinion prevents it from lasting overtime. Sorry you’re having trouble too. The bottom line is the quality isn’t good.
@@princessbarbiecheer I use Shout triple action as soon as I get home if I get a spot on it and let it sock for a few hours. I have 2 cats and a dog and my daughter has 2 dogs that I'm around a lot. I can't tell you anymore how many pieces of air essential I have. I love them so much. I just ordered one off of three up with 5 big spots. I got it for a decent price and want to see if I can get the spots out. I will keep you updated when I get it.
I wore my black air essentials jumper one time. I noticed pilling and frayed material. I contacted spanx customer service. They promptly sent me a replacement at no charge and allowed me to keep the frayed jumper. I agree, their products are way too expensive to fray within a few wears.
Totally agree! I had random stains appear on the front of a top on the first wear and couldn't get them out no matter what I do! None of my other clothing looks like this. So frustrating after paying a high price for leisure wear. I reached out to Spanx, but don't believe they will stand behind their product.

You are very welcome I have reached out to them and they told me that the care instructions say wash inside out. Which I do, and I have to say it’s the material of the Air Essentials. It’s just not good quality. It feels okay I guess but it’s not high quality for the price point.
I just very nearly dropped $550 (Canadian) on two pairs of pants and one hoodie (!!!!!). I am very glad I found this review first, because now I won't!

Well that is concerning. I ordered the gray jumpsuit, and a sleeveless black dress. The black dress should be ok as i dont think the pilling will show. The gray could be a nightmare. I will add....neither garment is "light as air"! Quite thick, which is really what i wanted, but the gray fabric shows every lump and bump.
I’m not wealthy enough to buy several, but I love my clothes. I saved up because I am tall, and I love the wide leg look. I finally was able to get it! The top has water spots that will not come out in the wash or dry clean! The wide leg pants pill terribly and has spots everywhere! This is not the look I’m after!

I paid 148 for a jumpsuit really comfortable however snags real easy and runs like the nylon stockings and beads up with little knots. Will not buy spanx again.
I don't know, mine seem to hold good! i have the jogger & the cinched hoodie- worn a few times, washed once..all good. no pilling, looks amazing, soft material - really luxurious, superior to anything that i have from lululemon - similar price point. Maybe too soon & few more washes...but good for now.

I was going to purchase it, but I said I would wait for Black Friday sake but thank I will skip it. $350 Should not have any issues. 😮

I had a pair of pants I needed replaced, due to pilling. They sent me a new pair. I do think I’ll stop buying the brand. I have several pieces.
