I wonder what high school me would think of future me getting excited about an online crossword upload.
I thought something similar to this when I saw the video up! I've been itching for that crossword dose the last couple days.
It's not about the crossword. It's about the eggs we cracked along the way.

The girl who may say “nae” refers to Scottish slang. However, even as a scot it took me a while to realise it wasn't a horse thing

I just started vid but off the bat I knew it is horse related, I have no clue what it is but something horse related
I thought everybody knew this word but apparently NL doesn't ? Maybe it's more known in Europe than elsewhere
@@iskar02 I think it's more about making the connection than knowing the word.
I've known that Scots commonly say the words lass and nae most my life, but Scottish is hardly the only culture to use those words and you don't tend to hear them often in day to day life, so I gravitated towards pop culture or variants of nay when looking for an answer.
Probably doesn't help NL that he's in Canada as well.

when he erased "once" I got nervous and checked how much time was left in the video lmao
A few crossword gotchas in this puzzle: (1) "put" might be either present or past tense, and you can't tell; (2) if a clue has an abbreviated word in it ("subj."), the answer will be an abbreviation; (3) the first word of a clue might be one that would be capitalized anywhere, and you can't tell ("Heart").
The abbreviation for Ecol threw me, it might be a regional thing, but where I live Ecology is abbreviated as Eco, not Ecol.
@@314Marvin I suspect we use enough letters to not be part of Econ, at least without a lot of context, like being in the Environmental Engineering department.
For my friend group, this one took a team of 6 people and 70 minutes to finish. Really was a hard one. He didn't even comment on APERCU!!!

I get that it is also used as an english word but COME ON, that's just cheating

When you’re struggling, sometimes it’s best to just go in clue order, because it’s easy to over look helpful and easy clues when you’re hopping all around.
This is amazing content. Thank you, NL. Half of the time I'm screaming at my monitor, and the other half I'm so perplexed on how he got all the ones I'd never get in years.
I'm not sure why, but what NL do crossword puzzles is extremely entertaining. I got tired of waiting for a video and ended up trying a few myself. Did surprisingly well with them and it would seem I have a new hobby :)

After watching this series I wanted try out these crosswords, and THIS was the one I got. It beat my ass and I felt very stupid, so it I feel a little better seeing that it also tripped up NL for a bit as well.

Sudden realisation: Lass is a common Scottish term for a girl. Nae is also a common way of saying no/not in Scotland
