The US justice system is third world and you thank God for it? America needs to clean its act up and NOT just on it's disgraceful justice system. You should be embarrassed , if anything....LOL.
These plea deals are not conducive to justice. Trying to stab a person to death from behind seems more like attempted murder not "harmful wounding." Then they throw in the reckless driving charge to make it seem mildly more egregious. This guy will offend again and they knew that. The Aussie justice system seems to be unraveling much like what is happening here in the U.S. The courts are so backed up, and the discovery statutes create a glacial pace in the courtrooms. Plea deals are attempts to "speed up" cases to the detriment of society.
Australian cops seem so much more educated than American cops. So much more professional, compassionate, empathetic, etc. Somethings telling me they don't kill their citizens and get away with it ninety-nine percent of the time either.
@J B I'm assuming you are from Australia. assuming that to be the case, I will not act as if I know more about the Australian law enforcement than do you. It's disappointing though, I thought they were better than the cops in the states who literally choke people, shoot them in the back, and so on and so forth, and get away with it, in fact, they get time off PAID while it's investigated and one of one hundred results in a conviction. I guess I have more faith in Australia. I'd love to move there.

not sure what this question means, but in some countries they take a tone of a question and some other countries picked up those foreign countries ways of speaking mixing up the english language with other languages. seems like is what htey do coz in some countries they dont have certain words - forgot really what words they dont have.
I'm not sure either and I'm Australian ! LOL It's just one of those idiosyncrasies that every country has when speaking their language. I might have to look that up myself!

Attempted murder? Should be a harsher sentence
James Lade ikr that’s ridiculous 🙄
@@jamesl9371 she said "ikr" which is I know right. So she is agreeing with you
Farah Basha yes you’re right and she is right they let him go after attempting murder and then he goes and committed murder
He was not sentenced for that only lesser crimes.
Why are most of the videos private?
Because the owner of this channel doesn't actually have the rights to upload them, so they get claimed, so they inturn private them
The cruel irony. You left Miami Florida ( one of 2 in the US that routinely execute murderers ) for a safer life in Oz. Better if you had moved somewhere like Iowa or Wyoming.
Do not think that was the reason for leaving the states to live in Australia
Unbelievable. I’d heard the gist of this story before but never properly and I’m just shocked and heartbroken for this family. And for Gabe. What an evil piece of shit calanka is..
that's why I love the justice system in America for crime like this he would have life without parole. excuse my eneglesh im frensh
Your English is perfect! Only 2 misspelled words. The other one is 'French'.
Yes sure. Just like OJ Simpson. Justice gets skewed everywhere.
@@staceykersting705 It's not exactly perfect. It's pretty good, but don't lie to the kid.
@@SpecialBlanket What errors did u see beside the spelling of 'English' and 'French'?
LOL...THE JUSTICE SYSTEM IN AMERICA???? You have to be kidding right? You put innocent people to death! 10% of death row inmates and God only knows how many others who AREN'T on death row are innocent. That's unforgivable. The US justice system is third world and you thank God for it? America needs to clean its act up and NOT just on it's disgraceful justice system. You should be embarrassed , if anything....LOL.
Finding the watch in 2 mins on the bottom of a muddy river.... sounds odd.... weird...
These plea deals are not conducive to justice. Trying to stab a person to death from behind seems more like attempted murder not "harmful wounding." Then they throw in the reckless driving charge to make it seem mildly more
egregious. This guy will offend again and they knew that. The Aussie justice system seems to be unraveling much like what is happening here in the U.S. The courts are so backed up, and the discovery statutes create a glacial pace in the courtrooms. Plea deals are attempts to "speed up" cases to the detriment of society.
Evidence was probably lacking. They took what they could get.
7:26 Young dad looks like a caveman from those Geico commercials lol
I have heard rumours about the education of cops in USA being less than a year. I think in a lot of countries it is 3-4 years.
Why did they let him off for community service if they was smart 😂😂😂
I didn't hear anything about them interviewing his sister about the carpet...
February 14, 2020: Gabriel Meyer’s killer Damon Frank Calanca released on parole.
The first judge let this ticking time bomb back out on society
200 hrs of communty service for atmpted murder?
Fucking hell no wonder he tried again
Why is it that the good die young and evil lives forever (it seems).
Diane Hooper I don’t know. I ask myself that just about every day.
@@dunwoodie27 Yeah same with me !
Diane Hooper bunch of inhuman people. Just let people be sheesh
No wonder they got Australian divers to rescue those Thai boys. Diving in croc infested waters would scare the shit out of me regardless of whether they had used explosives to get rid of the crocs.
He must be out? by now..nothing to add in regards to how this loss happened ..when evil lurks ..beware Australians! ..may this young man RIP ..😖 as a parent of 3girls I cannot begin to imagine his famillie's pain ..Bless all of you ..moi, canada 🇨🇦
No he's not out. Google his name if you want to make assumptions.
@@Rage_Harder_Then_Relax He was paroled 1 year after you made this comment
He got parole a joke
He was paroled earlier this year. Pathetic.
Nice job. Keep it up
*james potter*
*IS NO ONE THINKING WHAT IM THINKING?!*
Yes , he belonged to a cute family of rabbits
(Yes that one may need some thinking)
so...James Potter faked his death and ended up Australia? um... 1993 wasnt this about the time Sirius escaped from prison?
rest in peace Gabe...That Damon is a very disturbed individual
Is Hogwarts secretly in Australia to?
He was released on parole in February 2020
He would of went to jail if it was in America!!!
Question: How do Australians know which word should be spoken as a question? I hope this question isn’t offensive to anyone, but I find it fascinating and I can’t figure it out.
not sure what this question means, but in some countries they take a tone of a question and some other countries picked up those foreign countries ways of speaking mixing up the english language with other languages. seems like is what htey do coz in some countries they dont have certain words - forgot really what words they dont have.
@@dinamoore1580 they mean the upwards inflection at the end of a sentence. i too wonder this.
how everyone else does? we can tell by the tone of the voice i suppose?
I'm not sure either and I'm Australian ! LOL It's just one of those idiosyncrasies that every country has when speaking their language. I might have to look that up myself!
This is just and hour or so from where I live. Very sad.
I must be developing cataracts - the edges of the video seem hazy 😂
Those cataracts are apparently making you grumpy too.
It's my opinion that sentencing is about the dollars.
The judicial system works out the financial cost of holding a felon in jail, hence the time imposed.
There needs a federal enquiry!!
His gf should have gone to the police, she should alsonbe charged with 1st degree murder.
She is a devil jusy like ger boufriend......
Btw ive a gut feeling that Kalanka roommate knew exactly what was going on, if the police didnt interfere they would certainly covered up his deeds. They are also deserve to be put behind bars
It’s not the morbid details, it’s the why, why, why factor.
It's a good thing there is subtitles because I couldn't understand what the hell is Calanca saying.
English Madafaka, English!!.
not all born in English-speaking families, more respect for viewers from around the world :)
2006? Is he out? Sheesh!
Google his name. You might then have some idea. Sheesh!
Parole has been denied quite a few times
Gabe can’t get his life back but killer can get parole…
A life for a life. The only real justice is the death penalty.
When he is dead the punishment is ower. Throw away the key.
She didn´t understand it but Fawn was the trigger.
The deputy dpp is better than any hollywood actor. Bravo
Wtf is wrong with people???? So screwed up
If it was the US, he'd get life without parole.
He was released in February 2020.
Sad story, they should have dropped that guy in with the crocodilles.... I thought i spotted Dan Bilzerian at 1:53 :)
The father must be very upset as Gabe had darker features and took after him more than any of his other children plus he was his oldest son. It's very sad for all his family. Definitely wouldn't be letting Calanca out. Sociopath for sure
How does it matter...who he looked like!!! Your child is ur heart no matter first second or even 100th...n if the kid looks like the father or the mother...
Why would that upset the father?
an eye for an eye. people won't do this shit. punish criminals WHAT the FUCK>>>>????
australian crime laws are a joke. parole? seriously?!
Again are we taking note, Qld again
Who actually reads a girly magazine?? You sir, are a liar.
Before his incarceration he way was a latent gay. But upon his release it will be confirmed.
MOLON LABE wtf is this shit lmao
Hahaha! 😂
what? where did that come from? what does that have to do with anything?
Why the satanic symbol?? Don't you believe in Jesus?
why are you replying to me, "why use the satanic symbol, don't you believe in jesus?" not my posting and that's personal.
their laws are a joke
Anyone else annoyed by the dry mouth??
They from Florida why they have australian accents
That’s not an Aussie accent.
Too much talking by the so called experts: is that typical Australian ? irritating film at this way.
