    Well done to Australian Police force for unrelentingly chasing the leads and solving this case and putting the dealers and to jail. Wish their sentence was for life. My family was destroyed because of drugs. Thank you for doing what you can to keep Australia and the world free from drugs and from these scoundrels.

Tourists seem to disappear or be killed over there with disquieting frequency, police seem to do sloppy jobs more frequently than not, laws are soft on criminals, sentences are many times laughable. Just a feeling, but I think I will keep feeling that way, and unless I am forced by some circumstance, I have no plans of ever visiting the place.

      @RiffRaffMama. 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm not defending them, but a 43 minute show can't possibly explain _all_ the factors involved in the situation. There's a possibility the captain was forced to sail the ship under threat of his family being killed etc. If you seek out news articles from the time of the event, or better yet, court transcripts (yes, they're available online) then you would be able to form a clearer picture of why that judgement was arrived at.

      the only real solution is to legalise everything, bring it out in the open, regulate it fairly to destroy the black market, gangs and corruption... there was this little unknown guy called al capone who proved this point, we all know it.. but there is just too much money for any sensible policy... perhaps with cannabis it starts... but how long and difficult has it been for just cannabis..

      Like driving well above the speed limit so that someone tailing you is more noticeable, making sharp turns and u-turns. Stuff like that. I assume they just don't want to tell people how to know if the cops are following you.

      @@mikfax hahaha I had to Google maccas. Are you in Australia? Around here, in the US the cops love donuts. They get free donuts and coffee pretty much everywhere. But they gotta pay for the maccas.

      @@Grumplestiltkin Well it has been over 20 years since i worked there but yeah the cops would come through sometimes off duty and just flash a badge and we would give them any meal they wanted plus extras and the manager would comp it.

      It’s mainly because they have a deal or some sort of arrangement with macdonalds l assume from experience and stories from people saying the stuff they feed you at different courthouse cells and police stations and mostly get a medium big mac meal. They probably just send a couple of officers to go pick up the meals for them and probably grab some extras for themselves at the same time as well or maybe don’t bother about it too much cos it’s only maccas and itd be an everyday thing you’d probably get bored of eating everyday anyway and that’s probably why we assume that’s what cops in Australia like to eat. Have a big mac meal if you think so too.

    great why did they bomb the ship.. that's more oil in the ocean floating around.

    • @FunkyMonkey-ip4xy
      @FunkyMonkey-ip4xy 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My thoughts as well. Yeah blowing it up probably looked good on the news but maybe scrapping and recycling it would have been a better option. At least that way the Australian government gets to recoup some money as opposed to wasting money on jet fuel, a bomb and adding a bit more pollution to the sea.

      Hate to say it but the F111’s we had back then were based at Amberley AFB a 2000 mile return trip to send it down there to bomb a ship and then get back base and last I heard the running cost of those was about $50,000 per hour plus the bomb.

    I don't get where they get the street value of 1m for 1kg. I guess maybe cos it's high purity and it will be cut to double the volume then that would make sense. The max 1g would go for on the street is 500 so 1kg would only make 500k unless like I said it gets cut and the volume is doubled.
