    I can't say enough good things about Parker's Safes and Vaults. Aaron is a wealth of knowledge and the most professional person I've had the pleasure of working with on a purchase in some time. He and his son made delivery and set up look almost easy. Would recommend 100% if you're remotely interested in a safe. Any future purchases will be from Parker's Safes and Vaults.

    If there's another gunsafe in my purchasing future, it would be a BFII. Many if not most gun safe manufacturers use drywall for "fire rating," which kind of sucks for whatever it is you are trying to save from fire.

    One day, your safe won't open because of the digital keypad. Then youtube and research get you nowhere. Calling customer service, they tell you to call referred to locksmiths!

    For what it’s worth I’ve had my AMSEC safe for about 6 years now and I like it. Just wish I bought a bigger one. Other than that I’ve had to replace the keypad battery about once a year which is very easy. I like AMSEC and will likely get another when I get a bigger one one day.

    Thank you very much for the video. How thick is the outside steel on the sides and top? You mentioned that the door has a 1/2 inch steel plate on it. What is the cost of this particular safe also? Look forward to your other videos.

    • @parkerssafes
      @parkerssafes  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The outside steel on that particular safe is 11 gauge followed by 2 inches of concrete but the inner steel then, is 5/16. I actually like the fact that they put the thicker steel on the inside panel rather than the outside. For one, it makes it less expensive to build and for two, it makes it harder to get into.
      We really don’t like to mention pricing on these video comments but if you’re interested in one, just give me a call I’ll be happy to quote a price for you.

      @@parkerssafes I find it ironic that you won't mention the PRICE of
      such a safe. What exactly is the "issue" regarding that? Is it illegal or
      unethical, or what?

    • @parkerssafes
      @parkerssafes  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@hansanderson6607 Fair question. AMSEC has MAP pricing that dealers must adhere to. If I list a price on line and the prices change and I don't go back and adjust, then I could be in violation. If we don't advertise prices, then we can't be faulted. That's all it is.

    • @parkerssafes
      @parkerssafes  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's correct. The BFX is basically the old BF but with a new door which now has 4-way active bolts, 3 stage boltwork, and a gear drive.

      The NF and SF series are imported from overseas.

    • @FishFind3000
      @FishFind3000 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Not all of them they have cheaper safes that are made overseas.

  • @emac4925
    @emac4925 ปีที่แล้ว

    No because they lie about the actual material that they use they claim it’s a concrete mix fill in between the safe!! If that were true then it would be rated a TL-15 I’m talking about their BFX series of so called safes.

    • @parkerssafes
      @parkerssafes  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Well they don’t lie at all. It’s called Drylight. It does set up a little bit like concrete but it is much lighter hence the name. They do have safes that use actual 12,000 psi concrete though. In my opinion, the drylight is still superior to sheetrock. Cheers

    Any thoughts on the sports afield safes? Kinda limited on what we have to chose from around here. Looked at a cannon but it was garbage. It broke when we were looking at it in store. On a budget so choices are limited. Thanks

    • @mikestevens2053
      @mikestevens2053 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Look at the "economical" line from Sturdy Safe. I replaced a Sports Afield "safe" with a Sturdy some years back. The Sports afield is a classic example of price-point marketing, but not very secure. It will keep out kids and curious guests, but not determined thieves. Good luck!

    • @parkerssafes
      @parkerssafes  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree with Mike’s comment. You could also consider the SF or NF Amercian Security lines.

    Is the BFII a grade higher than BFX? BFII doesn’t have active bolts on hinge side, is that going to change to be like the BFX?

    • @parkerssafes
      @parkerssafes  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You wouldn’t think so by looking at the door but yes it is a level up from the BFX. A lot of higher end commercial type safes don’t have active bolts on the hinges side. It doesn’t add to or take away from the security level. I haven’t heard anything about them changing it.
