My great-grandfather was in this battle, he was in the 2nd line of defence, fighting the SS pazer divisions, he was declared MIA by the Supreme Command, but I am certain that he died fighting nazis to the end, as every man today and in the past in Russia. (Quick caveat - my family was aristocratic one before the revolution, but we didn't flee - we were, and still are - the soldier caste, generational fighters for the Russia, and it's faith and people)

Hey, History Guy. Have you watched Soviet film series Liberation from 1970? You can find it on TH-cam in 4K with English subtitles. It starts from The Battle of Kursk and goes through the whole war ending in Berlin. The whole series is about 6h long. There are some issues like T-55 tanks on the background without even an attempt to make it looks like German one, but it is still, by my opinion, one of the best movies about WW2.

I'm curious. You said that Kursk was 'arguably' the biggest tank battle of all time. I've never seen that disputed anywhere. Which other battles could be compared?

Look through the comments. You'll see people argue others were larger, especially references to Dubno (sometimes called Brody) from 1941.

Elephant before changes to became Ferdinand, it took out a t-34 from 5600 meters or 5.6km at the battle of Kursk, longest ever in war for a long time, not sure how far the abrams did in iraq, or that did not count as a "war" ?
also the Elephant shot could have been said to be a random shot that just hit a t-34 in the swarm of all the communist tanks and not a "snipe" hit :P
