  • One of the best ways you can make legitimate side-hustle money in the print-on-demand world is by creating and uploading low-content books to Amazon KDP. In this tutorial designed for complete beginners, I walk through how to create a low-content book and upload it to Amazon KDP.
    This guide is designed for COMPLETE BEGINNERS who may be confused about some of the settings, or even not sure where to begin! Designing and selling low-content books is easy and fun. I am using BOOK BOLT, which I highly recommend for creating low-content books. It has a ton of features and offers great value. Let's go!

    Another great video! thanks. I am just learning Book Bolt. at around the 11:00 mark, you discuss putting the colosseum in the background on the interior page- how do you duplicate that for every page? I would like to put the same image on the bottom right corner of all the pages- but there must be a way to do it besides going into each page individually I have already chosen all pages to be wide ruled. Thanks so Much!

    Great video thanks. Are you able to add / import unique images or graphics in book bolt and modify like in photoshot? Or would it be better to upload after into something like Canva to add these images or graphics to the pages to give it that extra uniqueness.
    I can see every other page with images and history or famous quotes etc. Would then making it 240-260 pgs make the royalties drop to low. Still black and white

    I love your instructional videos. They're always clear, concise and pleasant to listen too. :). The reason I'm watching this video is I'm a professional children's book author and illustrator. I have some ideas that I'd like to publish myself without having to go through the editor/art director/agent gate keepers, and retain my creative freedom. Would KDP be a good place to do that?

      Thank you for the feedback! I have used Amazon KDP for years (like back when it was known as Createspace). I did a basic tutorial "start here" video - hopefully this helps? th-cam.com/video/aKRDwF9lsm4/w-d-xo.html. I personally love publishing on Amazon because you can control everything (the look and feel of the book and no editors).

    OMG I cannot thank you enough for doing this tutorial, I have been looking for a step by step guide for Book Bolt and I am so glad I stumbled upon your video. I published my first low content book but realized after doing it I didn't do the name of the item right, is there a way to change it before it goes live?

    • @zenwatercooler
      @zenwatercooler  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes in the dashboard there is a little "three dots" on the far right side - you can edit the book (title, content, cover, etc). If it is in review, sometimes you have to wait until it is live and then you can edit it (the book just goes back into draft status). Hope that helps!

    Also FYI, one can not have blank pages on KDP. One must at least have something on the page, think at the very least, a bottom flourish, or a boarder for the page.

    • @zenwatercooler
      @zenwatercooler  ปีที่แล้ว

      Maybe I misspoke - when I say "blank" I am referring to ruled lines, graph paper... I mean "blank" in the sense that I am not typing a bunch of word on there.

    Thank you for this wonderful tutorial! QUESTION: I followed along, and added a picture on the lined page with low opacity so it's in the background, but then I had to copy and paste it 119 more times and it took too long so I stopped. Is there a way to make it appear on all 120 pages really fast?

    • @zenwatercooler
      @zenwatercooler  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thank you for the feedback! Yes you can quickly clone pages. Right-click on the thumbnail of the page you want to copy (the thumbnail is on the left side, NOT the big page in the middle). It will say "clone this page to others". Then you can select which pages you want to clone it to. Hope that helps!

    • @IlanaRapp
      @IlanaRapp ปีที่แล้ว

      @@zenwatercooler So does that mean I do NOT type in 120 pages when creating the project? Meaning does clone page ADD pages?

    • @zenwatercooler
      @zenwatercooler  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No cloning pages happens when you are editing the book. So yes, type in 120 pages. Then once the framework is created (so you have 120 interior pages and a cover), you have thumbnails on the left side. So you can add an image into one page, and then right-click the thumbnail and you can clone that page to any and all existing pages.

    OMG the tax implications and especially for those of us hoping to supplement our retirement benefits. Add to that those of us not living in the few countries where Amazon supports direct payments. I was very excited, but now the thrill is gone. :-( Giving Amazon 30% of earnings for taxes? :-( :-( Just another roadblock for seniors to find ways to live a life of dignity. Always kudos to Zen Watercooler. He is the best!!!

    • @zenwatercooler

      Yes the tax thing can be stressful but it does depend on where you live. For example, I live in Canada and there's a tax treaty with the U.S. So I just declare to Amazon that I will declare my income and they don't withhold any of the tax.

      Hey there - I don't believe so. I publish coloring books (which to me are similar, they are pictures) and Amazon does not consider a coloring book to be low content. Low content is usually blank pages or really minimal content. A comic book would have unique, written content so that would be regular content as far as I know!

    Am I missing something? I'm not trying to be rude but I feel like I'm the only one who doesn't care for book bolt, at least for the designing option mostly. Canva is so much better for designing things. I see BookBolts value for marketing type stuff i suppose but its still very confusing and its like I rather not have to watch a video every I want to use one of their features. The videos are helpful yes, but it would be less overwhelming if they had it written within the feature too like what its for and how to use it properly. Idk I found it incredibly confusing and overwhelming for a beginner and not worth the money. I wish more people would make videos without promoting it or relying on it.
    I mostly hate the design part, its so rudimentary.
