@@antoninkubik2428 It’s a lot more complicated than that. If you look at the rest of the Wikipedia article you are quoting, you can see a lot of his former struggles with the church. He also commented multiple times on how religions was a tool to keep the poor from rising up. Most historian agree that he was a deist or agnostic, but had sympathy for Catholicism.
It’s well recorded that he was a devout Catholic as a kid in Corsica, but he lost his faith later on. Literally kidnapping the pope and being excommunicated.
I just find it hard to label an excommunicate who kidnapped the actual pope, dismantled the Papal States, talked about how religion was the thing stopping poor people fron rising up, publicly declared himself to be a defender of Islam (Granted, it was for purely propaganda reasons. But that not exactly a model Catholic), privately adore the Prophet Muhammad to be a model statesman and conqueror (European Accounts of Muhammad’s Life by John Tolan), a Christian.

The Orthodox Church had a long history of supporting the czarist monarchy and their reactionary policies in the russian empire, while the bolsheviks believed that religion was a private thing and it should remain that way. To put it in perspective, look at how Putin currently uses the same Church to rally popular support for his ambitions
