THATS NOT TORX on that bolt, it is RIBE M10
dont use torx, thats why it gets stuck

hi bro, did you need an engine replacement in the end? i broke my timing belt at idle on my 1.8T and idk if I can just swap the head with a new one or swap the entire engine… some have told me that i need a new entire engine..

hope you made the valveseats new too.if you dont sand these tales of the valveimpact i guarantee you your engine will knock much sooner in high revs.

i saw many broken pistons but only from the impact of the intake valves ,usually the mid ones .so if your belt is one tooth off and the exhaust valves hitting ,its okay .if your camshaft adjuster is failing and off timing your bets aint end up good .

Yeah I was bummed out, these 1.8 engines are really durable. The 2.0 I am super disappointed with. All kinds of problems. I’m gonna go ahead and clean everything up, Verify that the valves seal up with A Hydro test and put it back together. It’s got a lot of miles it had great compression, I got nothing to lose. I’ve got an extra valve and I’ll pick up some stretch Bolts.
