  • This is a 3D Video. Now featuring street interviews! Explore and walk the streets with stereoscopic 3D VR180, go inside stores/bars/clubs, and join the party as we visit New Orleans, Louisiana on New Years Eve in this two part mini-series! The French Quarter is famous for its yearly Mardi Gras celebration, drawing more than 15 million tourists a year to this round the clock party town. This first episode covers day and night of Friday, December 30 2022. The second episode will cover Saturday, December 31 2022 and will premiere in a few days !
NOTE: Download TH-cam VR App on Meta Quest 2 to experience this video in actual 3D VR180. Watching on phone/PC will only display 2D VR180.
All episodes are recorded in full RAW (19 GB / Min of Video) and color graded for uncompromising quality.
Every week, I will release a new video of my travels around the world digitally mastered for highest quality Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest Pro, PlayStation 5 PSVR 2, HTC Vive, Pimax 8k, windows mixed reality, and other high end headsets including upcoming apple virtual reality / augmented reality.
All filmed with the best high quality 3D 8k 60 fps 3D VR180 camera available. Only 3D if viewed on a VR headset with TH-cam VR.
30+ hours of work goes into each 10-15 minute episode (color grading, editing, sound engineering) not including travel time and lugging around a 35 pound camera setup.
    Thank you for watching!

Thank you for this fabulous video. I have a Quest 3 and the 8K resolution is coming through quite nicely in 180 VR. I always enjoyed 180 much more than 360 even though it’s not surround VR like 360°. I guess not too many people have a VR headset like Metaquest 3 yet otherwise you would have a lot more comments and subscribers! Please keep up the good work because the demand for this kind of video will increase a lot!❤️

Looks like this particular episode wasn’t rendered like all the others and I’m working on locating the raw files to render it. Super busy with the new episode coming out this weekend, but I’ll definitely get it rendered after finishing the new one!

Thanks for taking the time and effort into making these videos, checked them out on my Quest 2 and enjoyed them. I'm curious, even though they look good in the headset it definitely isn't crazy sharp and detailed like watching a 4k movie on a nice TV. Is the reason for that the limitation of the camera setup or just that the Quest 2 only does 2K per eye?
Again the videos look good, just curious about the tech and how you think it will evolve in the future.

I’m happy you enjoyed them, the next episode is gonna be even better than the first actually :D There are a few limitations at work here, what you are seeing is a 4k TH-cam downsample of the 8k video I upload ( 8k is 4 times 4k resolution) The native 8k downloaded version would be significantly sharper.
The reason why it isn’t exactly like a 4k tv has to do with the pixel density of the image you are viewing. A VR180 video can be thought of as a massive 200 foot wrap around tv displaying a 4k video on the TH-cam version. The massive screen has its pixels spread out over far greater area than a normal tv.
I am thinking of making the 8k version available for download through patreon again, just didn’t see any interest in that idea when I initially launched 3 months ago. Will revisit the idea if there is interest in the future. Planning some pretty awesome content, including behind the scenes episodes with IG: Malimoria cosplay photoshoots in March, and Florida college spring break episodes.

@@SliceoflifeVR Awesome stuff, looking forward to the new content. I assume an 8K download at 20(ish) minutes would be a massive file. The demand might be there but not sure the internal memory of my Quest 2 could even handle it lol

Yeah 20 min is about 15 gb lol. I actually just launched a Patreon ( patreon . com/sliceoflifevr ) if you would like to support the channel and see how beautiful native 8k quality can be! Just hoping to cover expensive download bandwidth cost, and a tiny reimbursment for the hundrends of hours it takes to make each episode.

why is it maxing out at 4? Other 8k listed videos work at 8k.

    • @SliceoflifeVR
      @SliceoflifeVR  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

Because those other “8k” videos are 360 2D videos. 8k 2D 360 is half the resolution of an 8k 3D VR180 video. My 8k 3D VR180 videos are double the resolution of those 8k 360 2D videos and much, much more immersive.
TH-cam does not support 8k 3D 60fps VR180, you need to direct download off the Patreon to see my content in 400% sharper 8k 3D VR180 on Quest 2/3 . What you see here is 4k 3D or 2160P.
