Jakub is currently winning the battle when it comes to ripping off visors. He's done it in the 2018 GTI and this SQ5, and Yuri has done in the 2019 RS5 Sportback.
It's crazy we live in an automotive time where 350 HP is "decent".
Love reading a thread on /r/cars where people argue that anything under 400hp is unsafe for even merging on the highway. Meanwhile I’m from The Netherlands where most cars on the road are subcompacts with barely 90 horsepower.
500 HP is the new 350.
That horsepower is brought down by weight, so really what you feel inside the car is probably about 270/ 250 bhp
cars nowadays are heavy af thus the new hp normal. it's no big deal. SUV sucks.

I just got this car and chose it between the AMG43 and X3 M40i! Still super happy with my choice. Quattro system is amazing in dynamic, and also super comfortable when driving with the lady :)

@@AlphaSierra5 The previous generation camry had either a turn signal or foglights in a shape to resemble a giant vent. Honestly I thought it look cool cause normally it's always glowing. But is in the shape of a vent. Now the new gen has these massive fake vent that's just make me think those folks got the lower trims but its cause foglights arent even offered. I have never seen a vehicle that needed foglight so much. I would love it if they got rid of those vents.

Bought a 2020 SQ5 a few months ago. The interior really was what sold it over the X3 and GLC43. Not a fan of the newer BMW interiors and the Mercedes was too much rhinestone cowboy...
And a GLC AMG43 is about $10,000 more expensive when similarly equipped to a SQ5 Premium Plus.
I actually just bought that exact Audi several weeks ago after trying to get myself to buy a Mercedes GLC for about a week. I couldn't fall in love with the GLC. The showstopper for me on that car is the big black textured plastic trim all the way around the bottom of the GLC (and so many other cars now). That black trim looks cheap and is impossible to keep looking good along without a lot of constant work and even then it looks cheap. I couldn't see myself spending $60,000 on a car to have that kind of trim around the bottom and when I saw that Audi SQ5 I immediately fell in love and I bought it that day. After 4 weeks, I still love it!
I agree GLC is out of my consideration due to this cheap plastic

Just picked up a 2022, I'm 💯 android. Functionality is great, and you dont even need to plug it in like in my Lexus , MB, Hellcat....
If you are going to compare handling to the other German competitors, you should have the air suspension and sports diff. I test drove this and the GLC43. I found the GLC43 had a more linear power output and was more powerful feeling. Also, the GLC43 sounds like a beast compared to the SQ5. However, with the lower ride height and sports diff, I was definitely able to go faster on the on/off ramps with the SQ5

Par contre SQ5 me tape tellement aux yeux avec ce design.., je trouve la SQ5 beaucoup plus attirant, et à aussi une conduite agressif, peut-être juste un peu moins rapide que la Glc, mais pas trop de différences je crois.
Un petit reprog + comme une filtre à Air sport fera l'affaire,
Pour l'intérieur/le confort, là on ne peut pas grand choses.
J'ai la SQ5 8r Plus 340hp/700Nm de 2015, et je souhaite vraiment la remplacer pour monter de gamme.., après c'est si difficile de choisir entre La SQ5 et Glc43 Amg quand on aime les deux, 😅

@@alexatgame4102 I don’t agree, the graphic goes from 0 to like 800hp with is outright insanity and 99% of people will never even drive a 800hp car. That makes 350hp right a bit under the middle, which seems reasonably, until you realize 90% of cars don’t even have 200hp. For beginners in the car game it would seem very confusing, that’s my opinion.

I've got my '13 Q5 with the 3.0 supercharged engine, and I'm happy to say, my exhaust tips are absolutely real.
Those older Q5’s are so much better looking. I hate the design direction they went in recently.

You would love the GLC43 and X3M40i very much too, very similar to SQ5. Each have their own pros/cons but in general are all very nice and no one would be disappointed.

I have a 2021 SQ5 with the Sport Exhaust package and it's the best car I have ever owned. My wife loves it too and fits our toddler's car seat like a king's seat. Luckily I studied computer science and do a lot of programming and have a good job to afford this nowadays. Great review!

That's what they told me when I bought my car but 3 years in I'm still prone to pulling it straight out like a regular car. It doesn't really feel any more natural.

I really loved the cool and funky stuff u guys used to do with the hp and torque figures , now it's juat the same thing which tbh looks really bad with the amazing quality of the vids ... like just the colors and the asthetic of it doesn't match and it just seems lazy ... it's a lil thing but it makes the experience amazing so plz bring it back ❤️ ..

Audi is just a joke at this point. Their interior and ride may be decent but Audis are the fakest cars out there. Even the RS6 has sound "actuators" (speakers) in their exhausts to make it sound cool. Same as the SQ7 with the TDI Diesel, that thing sounds like a muscle car but guess what - it's speakers in the exhaust.

The new grille is nasty looking. I own the first stage of this current gen, and it's markedly better looking. As for the air suspension, it's a must-have for me (Ottawa). It completely changes the dynamics of the vehicle (with Dynamic Chassis Control). Having the vehicle lower to the ground in dynamic mode is a big improvement on handling, especially in the corners. Those two things in tandem make it even more silky smooth than our Golf R (granted, the R is uber planted around the bends). Most importantly, being able to lift the vehicle high enough to tackle the piles of snow at the end of the driveway, after the snowplow/road grader/ passes by (without gouging the finish), is a game changer.
Them fake exhaust are atrocious... Why audi?! Make a real exhaust tip.. Looks cooler too

Do you like dented tailpipes after nailing a rock backing up? And.. as to the "real exhaust sound" - as a neighbor to someone that feels the need to show off his "exhaust noise" every morning at 6am on the way to work.... I PREFER ELECTRIC QUIET!
Fake anything is bad. Use your backup camera next time so you don’t dent your exhaust tips on a rock. Electric is definitely quiet on start up

I was cross shopping this and the M40i a couple months ago and it was too close to call. Even though it's pretty trivial in the grand scheme of things, I couldn't get over the fake exhaust tips and went with the M40i. The upwards pull action of the door is pretty weird too. My Cayman has the same upwards pull on the doors but it make sense because the car is so low. Doesn't make sense on an SUV though where you'd be pulling the handle towards you and not upwards. As always, keep up the good work!
Just got the 2021 Q5e . The hybrid one. Same acceleration as the sq5 and I get 7k from the government off lol

I reckon the Audi RS Q3 is the better option, its cheaper, faster, sounds better and ultimately looks better on the interior and exterior. I highly suggest you guys should look into filming a review on the RS Q3.

15years ago is 2005 and almost 2006. The Q5 only came out in 2009 for North America. And yea it has changed a LOT since then.
@@reuben7 I drove all the Audi SUVs last year. Etron, sq 5, q5, q7 I can't believe how none of them have any interior storage. Really liked the looks, absolutely terrible for a daily driver imo

the main reason to get the sq5 over the q5 is because sq5 has torsen quattro where as q5 has the hauldex type quattro. also in europe sq5 is diesel which is awesome and it sounds really good with some proper exhaust
You don’t even know how long I’ve been waiting for this review!!!
I went with the 2021 SQ5 with the add-on exhaust (a must, and it's ~50% louder too), and with the sport package (sport diff, air suspension). Firstly because of the infotainment - literally all infotainment is worse, esp. ze Germans, what with a joystick or touchpad or some other BS (for 2021 Audi finally ditched the MMI knob thingy). Secondly because it's the best all-around package, esp. ride quality and very low NVH/road noise - it's top notch in any class. Thirdly, because it looks the least worse - it is a bit bland and at least the lighting game is top notch. M-B always look tacky to me and BMW has ride quality issues with much of its current lineup. Plus both have awful infotainment, and BMW has the god-awful gauges.
Despite all the settings for the dash and drive modes, nothing is perfect. Part throttle performance and response is quite good but all out performance, even acceleration, is a bit lacking. But, it's a better performer than 98% of what's on the road today, has good packaging (almost like a bigger Golf IME), and is pleasant to live with.

BTW, 2021 Audi SQ5 and Mercedes GLC 43 AMG are both at 4.7 seconds for 0 to 60. Only the BMW X3 M40i goes faster at 4.4. And 350 HP in a small/mid-sized SUV is not just "decent"-it's pretty amazing- just my opinion - I bought 2022 SQ5 5 days ago :)

I like the way it meets the required functions while maintaining good features seen in sedans.
I got my first audi recently a 2020 premium plus sq5 and genuinely shocked at the annoying things it lacks or does. Biggest surprise, no remote start on a luxury 2020 vehicle, no vented seats, doesnt tell me tire pressure numbers on low tires just gives me a warning like a car from 2005, has three ways to open the trunk and one way to close it, doesnt have a button to open the gas cover, i know i know, complaining about this type of thing, but going from a 2015 car to a luxury brand thats 5 years younger, im painfully disappointed un audi, a brand i have loved forever.

The Macan S and SQ5 may share a chassis and engine but the Porsche with PDK just drives so much better. Unfortunately a comparably equipped Macan S commands a $10k-$15k premium. Then there's the GTS with the new 2.9L........

Platform concepts between car brands are crazy! The soul of the car (chassis) become the same, only the "make up" of the exterior and performance are different. VW Touareg is just Audi Q5 without make up! Or even LAMBORGHINI URUS is just Audi Q5 with bitchin' make ups!! I'd rather just buy VW Touareg and make it sleeper with Lambo V8 engine inside.......................
I think only Honda left that hasn't do platforms with other manufacturers haha (Good Job Honda!! Stay Independent and make type R's!!)

I'm guessing the squentials are okay on the SUV because it's classified in a different categorie under the government regulations? From my understanding trucks and bigger vehicles can get away with more compared to a car🤷🏻♂️ that's just what I have heard, you'd have to do more research to fully confirm that
these two are so good, they make me enjoy a video about an SUV (I'm really not into SUVs)
