      I saw your vid in my side feed. Too much of this game is badly designed that you can't blame EA for it, and I do not mean performance because I played it patched on PC and it ran smooth. The devs just made a bad game. There was already too much bad design in their first game with the time wasting traversal. The worst thing is we may not get another force-using game for many years. The Outlaw game looks like a TERRIBLE waste. Finally a Star Wars open world (possibly open galaxy) game, but it is a limited little bitch. The really old 1st person Jedi Outcast is still the best SW action game so this franchise has been very mismanaged even before Disney.

    36:00 Funny story. So on Koboh, sometimes you DO get a Rancor roaming around instead of a regular patrol. And in NG+, if you activate the Warrior perk, they let Spawn of Oggdo out his hole to go for a walk. As far as I'm aware this only happens after you beat the game, but MAN did I get a heart attack on seeing Spawn of Oggdo going for a walk.

You can revisit old locations and find a bunch of echoes of Bode plotting behind your back and then subsequently Cal's thoughts on the matter. Also at least to me he was expected to still be alive as when talking about how the empire questioned her before the game started she says that “they wanted to know about cordova and where he went”. - you didn’t get much time with Cal’s crew since they meant a lot to him I didn’t feel the connection to the characters
    -combat was better but shame you can’t block mid move
    - story felt too short on what it could’ve been
    -exploring planets felt very limited with only 5 planets, but nothing to do on Tanalorr even though it was the whole point of the game
    -Dagen and Ravis’s story felt like a side quest and they didn’t try to make it better
    -lightsaber customisation was good not great
    But my hopes for Jedi 3 is more planets to explore, longer story, more lightsaber customisation and please please PLEASE give us a Darksaber crystal

      They had enough planets/moons (6 I think?), there just wasn’t much to do on them. The majority of the game you’re on Koboh which was disappointing. On top of the story being short it was also a mess. Dagan wasn’t a good villain and came across as whiny, and Bode was a very obvious traitor so the betrayal fell flat (he’s literally introduced shooting someone in the back, telegraphed much?). Hopefully the next game is better.

    I saw the Bode twist coming from the start of the game. But then it kept not happening, which threw me off. It kept not happening to the point where I thought it was an on purpose red herring, so I stopped expecting it. And then it happened. It was so obvious it managed to like triple twist me. These games, as journeys through trauma, are deeply affecting, and very good. I never really had the performance issues most complained about, so I guess I might have been lucky and treated to the intended experience at launch.

    I used dual wielding and cross-guard as my light-saber options, and I have to agree that the issue with cross-guard is a matter of how people are using it. You can't just swing it whenever an enemy isn't actively attacking. You have to get a little bit of distance from them, too. Then, its hits can do a great job of stunning enemies off of attacking (large ones excluded). The extra heavy hits (skill upgrade reguired) can even stun "bear" enemies such as charging Rayvis, stopping their attack sequences so you get time to not die in punishment. (Concerning Rayvis, that move let me beat him on Grandmaster almost right after I realized it worked, and I clutched a fourth of the fight while out of stims).

    • @ayo9290

      The real trick to Rayvis is to forgoe difficulty challenges, but my brother demanded I restore our family honor by not dropping to Master. An hour or two well spent...

    Bode always unconsciously set my alarm bells off, as far back as the beginning Couracaunt dogfight cutscene i unironicly joked “Bode should be dead the moment he split up from the rest of his squad unless he’s secretly an inquisitor spy!” 🤣
    Which looking back now makes a 100% sense since all he had to do was turn away & the second Cal losses sight of him Bodes like “..& he’s gone.” Then switched to imperial coms to telling the imperial pilots following him “Alright, great job fellas you really sold it drinks are on me!”
    But in all seriousness in terms of exterminating all of the Jedi, Sheeve Palpatene doesn’t mess around or cut any corners. He’s not going to let just any Order 66 Surviving Jedi just roll down to his house Corasaunt the main capital planet of the Entire Galactic Empire & casually take shit on it without getting blown away the second he comes out of hyperspace to reach the planet since Good Old Sheeve can instantly detect another Force User’s presence through the force whenever they’re planets away, yes Sheeve is that powerful it’s why no other Force Users are dumb enough to ever try pull something since he’s always going to sense them coming. Unless it’s apart of a long game sting operation to exterminate all of the surviving Jedi’s at once..
    So yeah that Sith Inquisitor who’d ambushed Cal was unknowingly sent to die so Bode could get Cals trust & eventually guide him to the hidden path..

His story paralells Cals in some uncanny ways(unorthodox jedi with the supposedly rare power of psychometry, dating a nightsister, nearly turned to the dark side, affiliated with the hidden path), and id love to see the respawn team take advantage of the storytelling potential there.

    I was lucky enough to run it well enough on sub-par hardware that I was just happy it was playable and didn't care for lack of framerate, and mods to tweak performance were enough help. It is tragic others were not so lucky, and I hope they can later enjoy this masterpiece if they dropped it.

    • @aaronjones5742
      @aaronjones5742 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You did get relatively lucky but you can’t rate games based on the fact that you can use mods to make it good. Console players can’t use mods and they make up the majority of gamers. So if it runs bad on console and PC then the game is in rough shape. Obviously devs can really improve on games if they try. Imo you should base a game off of the first week of the launch. It’s not a very accurate depiction of the game if you recommend mods that actually make the game playable while reviewing a game.

    43:30 No, you are taking that WAY out of context. She has 2 last words, she looks at cal, says "cal" then looks upward past cal and says "trilla". Thats not mutterings of revenge, Cere saw Trilla waiting for her on the other side and called to her, letting us know that even tho Cere is gone, shes okay and not alone.

  • @krpi7685
    @krpi7685 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I found the crossguard to be viable especially during the more difficult boss fights but mainly thanks to the game's insistence on having the player wait out the enemies' attacks. While some stances offer opportunities to be more active, I found it most consistent to just wait out the boss attacks, get two powerful swings in, repeat. The good damage evened things up enough. Then I got plain lazy and didn't even bother to switch for crowd control and instead spammed force powers a bit more. Kinda worked.
    I do admit it kind of flattened the experience of fighting the bigger enemies and the stance would've definitely benefited from being able to absorb ANY hits as you wind up so it's difficult to really recommend. If you're like me and just happen to like the idea of wanting to learn the slow methodical way of playing then go for it.
