Idol Showdown devs seems to be very chill. They did a live update during Calli and Watame's collab. I think they wouldnt mind patching the game even if only Botan gets a new voice update.
The devs were actually watching Botan's stream, and it happens to be that the one in charge of Botan's character creation (and supposedly a hardcore SSRBs) heard Botan's request and sent a red superchat, promising her that they'll change her voice lines

He is right at this very moment watching Kamone's stream (from French Bread, developer of the Melty Blood series), getting feedback from this 20 year experienced dev and japanese players, he is going to patch it soon it seems, because the hitbox in Botan's sniping attack is too far back, the projectile comes from her butt... also a patch for some attacks like Suisei command grab after one combo that shouldn't be possible or something like that... also the translation for the japanese is getting some attack names wrong and people are getting confused, so that is going to be fixed in the short term it seems.

nah it wasn't a voice actor talking about voicing a specific role, he was just talking about how when you start out as a voice actor, don't expect to get talking lines immediately, and went on to talk about his early starting days, resulting in the triple scream request.
You know you made a good fan game when one of the members you made the game for decides to voice it for you.

Personally, I like the fact that the voice lines are grabbed straight from game streams. It adds a certain je ne sais quoi that you kinda lose when it's staged. I think the best option is to find better Botan samples, like for example, looking at cute Botan noises compilations on YT for inspiration

Damn, that sounded like some perfect English. She must hear those lines enough while gaming. I don’t remember clips of her doing DuoLingo or anything, so as far as I know, she isn’t learning English and probably has a limited vocabulary… but what she’s picked up naturally while gaming sounded flawless to me. It’s really quite impressive.
Also, if I’m wrong and she has been learning English, especially recently, I hope to see more clips of that.
Dude, that's got to be either a modder's or a fan-game developer's freaking dream right there. I've wanted to make voice mods for XCom 2 for the Hololive girls, and I've always had fantasies of the girls catching on and recording their own voice lines for the mod. Those people have got to be on some sort of fan-high from that.

Botan's English is so good. I was very pleasantly surprised.
I mean... yeah, I'm pretty sure all of them would gladly voice act for their characters in fan games. And they'd do it for free, since that's content for them, so it isn't technically free.
As for me, I enjoy Botan's voice in another game and it's beautiful🙏

I really wish it were easier to find a collection of voice clips of the various Hololive members. It's easy to remember lines you like, but finding where all of them came from, and cutting out background noise and music is a huge pain. If it weren't for all that, I'd have made voicepacks for Xcom2.

it's amazing to see that the devs changed vboice lines for fubuki, botan and sora on their request, show how fan of hololive they are!!! (fighting game fan here) the game is AWESOME!!! super fun to lab

Hololive needs to send every member a passthrough audio recorder to let every vtuber automatically capture and sell their clean audio. BGM can be removed somewhat with effort, but using clean audio from the get go makes things so much easier.
