    Lots of negative comments here.
Just listen to the old guy...listen to the joy in his voice.... Do you sound like that when you talk about your house??
..he LOVES his house, and in the end that's all that matters.

Sound travels very far over water.
To hear all those boats, jetskies, and freighters.
      And the smell of diesel.
It would be paradise if it was in a protected area.

dedalliance1 Here in the UK the word 'bloke' is almost the same as saying 'guy' in the US - it is completely normal & in no way insulting; We differ on a few things my friend and I guess that's what gives our Nations their individuality/uniqueness, thank God (i.e. your 'fanny' has a completely different connotation to us! and could get you in a lot of trouble lol - that's why we say 'bum bag' & never 'fanny Pack')

So true they do this here in Michigan especially in Detroit where you can pick up property for 10K or less but right after you purchase it your tax assessed value is 60k to 80k in the last 10 years in Detroit there is been a ridiculous amount of people in Detroit who owns their homes free and clear but lost it due to back taxes that the city of Detroit cannot even afford to process so they allow Wayne County to foreclose on properties then share the money I know a guy that purchased a home in California in the mid 70s paid cash for the home around 35K that same home today is value that over 700K so for that same house that is paid off now cost a minimum of 10K a year just in property taxes do you ever wonder why you see so many old people working now it’s not because they’re looking for a hobby it’s because they can’t afford to live in a house they have paid off! Very sad

      I. would bet that everyone who pass that house on the rock view it with binoculars and at night and in fog the fog horns and bells sound.
I have often wondered about that rock, there must be some interesting history.

+HeartlandRanchTV inflation is why printing money is called counterfieting and why it is a crime, so what the gov is basically doing it breaking it's own laws. so me thinks people get into office with the sole purpose of self enrichment no longer do honest to goodness people run for offices anymore (accept rare ones like ron paul maybe) because gov is a tool by the criminals ot rob others without having ot cover their tracks. gov itself hte principle of it started out good protect life liberty and property but it has been hijacked by the dishonest creeps of the world. so expect the value of our money to keep going down and taxes to keep going up, inflation by the way is a hidden tax another form of theft. i can only imagine how much money it cost this guy to remodel and fix everything and yet still pay high property taxes. to me property tax on private property is a crime, since it is your property and taxes gives them the edget to steal your equity when your unableto pay the taxes due to loss of job or whatnot. rather you should pay a user fee for services. never should one lose their home to theives because you cant pay an unjust tax.
