Our imouhar (brother) giving global guitar classes! Imouhar, traditional pastoral people of the Sahara and Sahel, living mainly in Mali. An admirable band!
The oddest thing about this vid is the crowd. Glasto has sold out. Littered with 'Beyonce, Taylor swift-esque' fans. Mdou Moctar are a great band though. A real force of the African rock/blues tradition
Me too. They popped up in my feed about 3 months ago and I have watched nearly every video of them I can find. He is exciting, a guitar master, and the band he plays with are awesome!
Got to see these guys 2 weeks ago 10/13/24 best believe I won't be missing them when they come play near me do yourself a favor and go see him when you get a chance
As a non musician I was enjoying the performance but as a woman who loves the colour purple I must confess that I was so busy looking at what they were wearing and wondering what the fabric was etc that I would never has noticed that if you didn’t point it out 😂😂 and now that I’ve been made aware, WOW 🤩 🤩🤩🤩
@@huascar66 good point, but they compare the lead guitarist to Hendrix because they're both left handed and position the guitar the same way. But you're right he definitely has own style.
@@huascar66Tuareg Blues , sound like Hendrix & sometimes like Santana , I saw Mdou Moctar in Seattle 6 years ago and nowadays they sound much better and I happy for their popularity & progress . Feliz Navidad 🎄 & greetings from The Sonoran Desert 🌵 Mexico 🇲🇽
The most exciting new rock band I've heard in the last decade.
Totally agree , also I've recently discovered YUNGBLUD band . Feels like the Offspring . More punk rock but a lot of it really good
I agree. Right on.
!!! I’ve been listening to this guy for years, it’s beyond awesome to see him playing at huge events like this

Showcase of skill, passion, and musical brilliance.
Drummer is a beast
How he play so fast? LOL
Great drummer.

Awesome as ever. If you're new, KEXP has some pretty snazzy footage too.
Mdou amazes again with this futuristic blues-rock performance. Indeed is the future of Live Music in Africa.
Long life for Tuareg Blues too . Feliz Navidad 🎄 from the Gulf of California , Mexico 🇲🇽
The Guitar Gods are not dead...they are Tuareg.
Look at that crowd. Glasto does not deserve them 😭😭

To everyone not playing guitar: this incredibly hard to play!
No shit
I think anyone with eyes and/or ears can easily understand that.

The Hendrix of the Sahara. 😮
No. Mdou Moctar of the Sahara. I get that people want to compare him to Hendrix, but Mdou has moved way, way beyond Hendrix.
