I love the fact that RAO's has a "sensitive" variety for those of us on the LO-FODMAP diet for IBS. That is AMAZING!

  • @Nuttyirishman85

I have stomach issues, their sensitive marinara allows me to eat red sauce. I am forever thankful.

I take one jar of arrabiatta sauce and one jar of vodka sauce, add half a jar of white wine (use it to rinse out the remaining sauce), plus 10-12 oz of sliced mushrooms. Add a Parm rind if you’ve got one in the freezer. Simmer, covered, for 45-60 minutes. Toss with cooked linguine, serve with extra Parm on the side.

I too mix arrabbiata with another sauce to cool it down a bit. I always throw some veggies and wine too. If it is still too much, I add a pinch of sugar. I am not a fan of their vodka sauce because I do like the cream in vodka sauce.

You had me all the way until you said white wine. Must be red wine when rinsing out the bottle...haha. IMO.

Rao's recently won me over. In fact, I gave my Prego stash away to a Food Bank and am forever spoiled. I tend to buy the sauces minus the meat and vegetables because it just sounds better to me to add all that stuff fresh at the time of opening the jar. Personally, I was bowled over by the Vodka version but you've definitely peaked my interest with your top picks.

i wasnt thrilled about Rao's and it was expensive as heck at $20 a bottle. i always add a ton of veggies to my sauce and like the small amount of sweetness in prego sausage and garlic sauce. adds a whole new level to my meal. since pasta sauce companies have cheapened out and cut corners, a bottle isnt enough for a pound box of pasta these days, so i add a lot of veggies to make it work.

The grocery store I work at, our customers go crazy over just the Marinara, then theTomato & Basil, then maybe Roasted Garlic. I think Vodka Sauce was a seller at some point. Four Cheese in my area sells the least among the other flavors. I guess each area, and each year can be different from the other.

I'm pretty sure that they are lying to the consumer and that is just down right evil and shady business practice I thought you be against promoting. The sauce is clearly not HOMEMADE as it is made in a factory so should be FACTORY MADE. Please note it doesn't say HOMEMADE style which would allow you to know that it is done like HOMEMADE just not in a home.

All Rao's are bad. It's so easy to make homemade sauce and tastes a whole lot better. *Diced tomato, tomato sauce, tomato paste, onion, green pepper and fresh garlic.* The longer it simmers the better it gets, and any extra can be frozen. 😋
