      Sharee Clifton lol you dumbass real dog owners grab and pull on their puppy's ears and tails with decent force starting as a young puppy and correct the behavior of the dog reacting so that later in life if let's say a baby who doesn't know anything does it.....then this happens, gentle play
      My bad if you were being sarcastic in the first place🙂

      third eye thirst it depends on the dog to be honest. Always safe to assume there is some risk involved and to be extra vigilant when babies are around dogs.

    • @Omegabigb
      @Omegabigb 7 ปีที่แล้ว +298

      third eye thirst, babies are pretty rough when playing with dogs, and a lot of dogs (like this one) are very gentle and patient but even the gentlest dog might get frustrated and lash out if the baby takes it to far, for that reason you should never leave a baby/toddler alone with a dog.

    • @kennyd.6822

      they can sense there harmless and sense and smell the fact that it's part of its owner. sometimes the dog will get jealous if anything but mostly when a dog loves it's owners it will love and be very patient with there baby. pitbulls are the BEST with babies, it's pretty amazing

      third eye thirst its pretty obvious that its a baby, the dog ahould know, babies cant speak properly or walk, they look different in features and are mostly round and soft, along with that they're smaller and typically cant walk

      Huskys are extremely gentle with infants (human ones, that is; their own kind, not so much). I had a female Husky who played with and cleaned up after an infant crawling on the floor (the baby had thrown up). When the infant tried to crawl off it's blanket - the established boundary - my Husky gently placed her paw across the baby's legs to prevent it from crawling away.

    Dogs communicate non-verbally. Everything about this dog is saying it's safe - lying on its back with paws in the air is the ultimate submission. This dog is clearly demonstrating care and attentiveness with a being that is clearly not fully in control of itself physically.
    As a dog owner, it always amuses me when people are afraid of dogs. Often, it's our own misperception of the dogs intent that creates the fear...

      Victor Levy Amanda Cole
      Loving Family Dog Kills Baby:
      This is as tragic as it gets - a two day old baby killed by the family's seemingly friendly Husky -
      According to one media report, a friend of the Alberta, Canada couple says the dog was probably trying to comfort the crying boy when it delivered one fatal bite to the child's head.
      Rob and Rhonda Fradette, and they seem to have done everything they were supposed to do when they brought their new baby home from the hospital last week, and they're experienced dog owners.
      They had locked the dog in its kennel in the basement and put their sleeping baby in his crib, Donald said. But somehow the dog escaped and went to investigate when the baby woke up crying. It was not a vicious attack, she said, and the same bite wouldn't have killed an older child.
      The 9-year-old female dog, a Siberian husky, Spot, had previously delivered four litters of its own puppies.
      The RCMP will only say that their investigation revealed there was no negligence and there will be no criminal charges.
      The baby was born on the night of Feb. 13 and was attacked on the morning of Feb. 15 at the couple's house in Airdrie, a bedroom community just north of Calgary. He died 12 hours later at Alberta Children's Hospital in Calgary.
      The animal remains in quarantine. The Fradettes said they have been too busy mourning the loss of their child to discuss whether the dog should be destroyed. The animal had never been aggressive before and went through training and obedience classes.

      You're the type of guy that reads one article on why vaccines cause autism and get paranoid over it., when there are thousands that say it doesn't.
      Nothing is safe you're almost 15 times more likely to die from falling out of bed than dying by a dog. One story doesn't justify or prove that all dogs will bite our child, only that it could happen.
      I believe it's to each their own, and I see you commenting on everything and constantly saying how it's so dangerous. Quit acting like some religious fanatic and try and see the bigger picture.

      Never fuck around with animals you haven't met. People are sometimes not so 'afraid' of dogs but more cautious because they don't know them yet. Once they assess the personality of a dog they'll either decide to trust it or not trust it.
      Dog owners are faster to tell whether a dog is going to be OK with you or not, it's experience I suppose.
      Regardless, many people do not train their dogs well, or have rescue dogs that have had abusive pasts and may be unpredictable. It's never really entirely the dog's fault, but some breeds are inherently more difficult to train than others; as well, what a dog considers playfulness may amount to threatening behavior to somebody else or even another dog.

      Don't underestimate the husky. Animals see and understand far more than what books and the scientific method have found. We are just now recognizing that dogs can detect cancer and low blood sugar levels in humans. Not to say you should leave the house and let the dog babysit, but introducing panic and anxiety makes things harder for everyone.

I used to dress her up in a cape and she helped me get around the house without my dad freaking out. id walk with her to the bathroom and her claws clicking on the floor would mask my foot steps so i wouldn't get in trouble.I used to give her my pillow and tell her that she was the best dog in the world. I decided to teach her dutch that i read in a book when i didnt even know it. dad killed her becase she loved me. he made me hurt her break her. i dont know how to live with that.

Personally, as much as I loved mine, I've come to the conclusion it's practically a crime to own a husky if you don't have 100 acres of wilderness in Alaska on which they're free to roam. I'll never own another for that very reason.

    I would love it if everyone who is afraid of dogs watched this video once.
    Dogs are not the mindles slaves to primal instincts that many seem to think they are. Dogs have a character and personality. Dogs think. Dogs feel.
    A lot of the dogs personality comes from the owner and how he teaches the dog to interact with the world. When in doubt, and when not feeling (harmlessly mischievous, a dog does what he thinks you would want him to do. Make sure to love him, and you will teach him to interact with the world lovingly.
    A dog that is raised like that will only ever become aggressive when his pack/family is threatened from the outside.

      Richard Hodges I'm not quite sure if I agree with you there.
      Traumatised or abused dogs can react unpredictably towards children, and young hyperactive dogs can be rough in their playing. The husky is very calm and familiar with the child, which means he is well-trained and that his owners treat him well :)
      Also, not all humans will be kind towards puppies or even care about them at all (though those are not the kind of people I'd like to associate with). Have a good day!

      I agree with you. I would not leave a baby with a person who was snarling at people or who had a history of cruelty. Every part of that dog's body language suggests that it's not in any way traumatised. The dog clearly sees it as one of the pack.

  • @abcole7
    @abcole7 9 ปีที่แล้ว +204

    It's incredibly silly to me how people are blowing up saying, "OMG it's going to attack the baby. Dogs attack people all the time!"
    While it's true that dogs DO attack people, any dog owner is going to be able to recognize if the dog is becoming irritable. If the dog was prone to aggression, I doubt the parent would let the dog near her child. I have two Siberian Huskies myself (although no children) and they are very loving and intelligent breeds. They play fight with me often and they will put their teeth on me, but very gently. It's very obvious that the husky recognizes that she needs to be gentle. In most of these videos, the husky is on her back with her belly up. That is a submissive position. The most I would be worried about is the dog pawing the baby and scratching it with her claws. Huskies don't seem to realize that their claws freakin' hurt!

    • @digiscream
      @digiscream 9 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      Amanda Cole Exactly. This particular dog is clearly not happy about some of the things the baby's doing - like pulling on her ears - and starts off with pacifying behaviour (licking and rolling on her back), then later moves on to pushing her hand away. However, it's a slow escalation, because the dog seems to realise there's no real threat but rather a mild irritation; that's a very well-socialised dog.
      I would personally have stepped in when it moved from licking to pushing, but that's just me. Doesn't look like there was any real danger.

    • @SergioBonilla1
      @SergioBonilla1 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Amanda Cole Exactly. I had a husky and the only time her teeth ever left a mark on me was when she was still a pup and she had those super sharp puppy teeth. As she got older, it was more like she would mouth you than bite you. Try to shake her paw, and she didn't realize her claws hurt you.

    • @digiscream
      @digiscream 9 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      ***** Yes, that's precisely what "pacifying behaviour" means - "please stop that". Pushing is an escalation from licking and being submissive, albeit not a violent one.

      Amanda Cole I can vouch for the claws. My year old husky will hold my hand with his mouth and walk next to me like a little kid, or he will play bite me so softly I can barely feel it. Then he will take a playful swipe at my arm and will leave gouges that make it look like I was attacked by a bear. He's lucky he's my little buddy...

I learned to walk by hanging onto the family dog, a large chow who'd been raised around very little kids; a smart dog like ours and like this wonderful husky knows the difference between aggression and a 'human puppy.' Most animals recognize the young of another species. If a cat or dog sees humans as food the children would be attacked first. However we are companions of cats and dogs so they have a lot of patience with a baby, (much more than adults), and protectiveness. That being said, if a dog treats an over-eager baby the same way as an over-eager puppy, the baby would get hurt, or at least become terrified of the dog.

Use the food/kibble as an attention getter and reward system..Gradually once you know he knows what the commands are you can start to not use the food..gradually stop rewarding with food and move to a praise reward system....All this takes time and consistency. If you do not put in the time needed you will not get the results you desire

    It's almost as if he knows it's a baby. Like the baby's pulling on his fur and poking his eyes, yet he remains calm and gentle, because he knows the baby isn't in control of itself and doesn't mean to.
    Honestly, it's quite amazing.

    • @oceaneo4603
      @oceaneo4603 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Absolutely, that's why he's so patient with him. However those gesture could be stressfull and hurtfull. That dog shouldn't have to endure that, just because he's smart.

    • @eieiojklf712
      @eieiojklf712 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@oceaneo4603 That's definitely true, I never meant that it was right that the dog has to endure stressers like these, I was simply pointing out how patient the dog is with the baby. A dog's unconditional love is something else, really.

    The baby seems submissive but you should be careful. Babies act instinctively and could bite the dog out of nowhere and I rather not see the baby put down.

      Film Producer You are vastly overestimating their ability to reason. Also dogs probably didn't evolve from wolves; they simply have a common wolf-like ancestor. They're actually some hundred thousand years apart.
      It's hard to be sure since they've been with us since long, long before recorded history (some tens of thousands of years to our ~5,000 years of recorded history).

      Hannah Polan That's how they train puppies. "I'm tired of getting bit on the ears, I'm gonna go away from you now." Then after a few months the puppy realizes that it doesn't get to play with its friend when it bites their ears.

    • @PaddySnuffles
      @PaddySnuffles 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Hannah Polan I don't thin the ear thing would hurt much - pullies usually do the same thing while their long-suffering parents sit there and sigh, so it probably wasn't too bad. :) (and yeah, the "okay, patience is wearing thin, imma walk away now" attitude was hilarious! It's my usual policy with other people's babies too. ;D)
