I wanted one of these so bad as a kid! Can't help but laugh now at how much the body moves on those sprint mounts and how little the suspension arms move at the same time. I did end up with a Nitro Hawk right when they transitioned to the TRX-12 engine, so can't compain too much. Really cool to see a Sledgehammer in action!
Dude, that jiggly body is so rad! Just part of the 80's RC experience, isn't it? Back when we were kids we would never have questioned it, but now it's just pure hilarity to watch, especially in slow mo! 🤣
I was like oh my gosh is that that the actual song nooooooooo waaaaaay. Right On such great shots all around. The nylon contrasts on the dark dirt well you can really see all the workings of that rear end drive line clearly. And having the old sledgehammer propped against the loader teeth in the beginning was a perfect touch. I loved it Man
Yah that one shot where you jumped off the ledge and epically crashed into the rock I saw you back off the throttle, I could tell you were like “AHHHHH”
My absolutte fav when it came out. I first saw it in a Swedish model magazine with an Epic wheelie off a jump. Still remember and feel the exitement just looking at the picture.
Awesome vid mate and great tune for the vid hope it sticks ok! Truck looks great but l know this can't be done on an original like this as its part of its unique features but l would change the body post to solid ones! A little too much body movement for me when its running! BUT still very cool looking thing and after all this truck is probably heading into shelf service next as its such a rare one so flexible body mounts will be part of its charm then😉👍 Cheers James.
Yeah James that wobbly body is pretty crazy, especially in slow-mo! Lol! But hey, that's how it was designed and that's how I wanted to capture it on camera. And you're totally right, this fella is going to spend some time on the shelf now. 😄

Hobbywing 1060 esc and I probably wouldn't go any faster than a 21T in this rig, I don't think the stock drive train will hold up. 👊
