Love this Scott. I saw you in concert for the first time about 8-9 years ago, almost by accident, but I am so grateful for it! I also love this song and am so glad you have brought it back. Love love love your songs.
gosh... as someone who did a lot of growing up in bobcaygeon, I hold this song real close to my heart and almost get stupid and protective of it. those tones he added hooked me from the beginning though, they reminded me instantly of stargazing on the grass next the docks somehow. you not only honoured gord, you honoured bobcaygeon. I think a new generation of caygeon kids will really appreciate it.
Weird to hear that song not performed by Gord, but Scott Helman did a great job. Took my daughter to see him for her first ever concert and we've got again a couple of times. She had a chance to meet him a couple of times and he was really sweet to her. Hope he has a long and successful career.
Wow. I like Scott Helman's pop songs - he's got an incredible ear for a hook - but I didn't know he could be so soulful. He pays heartfelt and sincere homage to a legend, good on him.
Are you kidding? This should be annihilated from existence. This is the most offensive thing I've seen on the internet and I've been using it since 1993.
@@andrewgrantlee2646 hope you're feeling better andrew. kinda weird spewing all your personal problems on the internet like that
One of my favorite covers of all time, just perfect! Can't stop listening to it. Gord would of been very proud! :) Canada loves you.
It is really tough to do a cover of an iconic tune from another band and Scott and the band do a great job paying an homage to The Tragically Hip in this version. The quintessential Canadian campfire song done well.
Man, I wish this was streamable on Spotify- everywhere I went...
So glad I listened past 30 seconds.... he really did it.
I can't say I like it better than the original. It's too classic. But this is the best Hip cover I've ever seen.
Amazing cover
Your version of this song is a beautiful gift. Thank you. So much.
Wow brother, what a great job of a beast of a vocalist to cover. Gord was something else!!!. You are.quickly becoming an artist like this yourself. The more I hear, the more I love your music and sound!!! I am a drummer so I mess with the drums some but you guys are awesome!!! Keep up the great work. Just saw you guys in st Catherine's ontario Canada less than a week ago. Phenomenal show!!
thank you for covering this song so beautifully. I have been a fan of you, Scott, since August of last year. I was able to meet you and see you live when you went on tour with Ria Mae. Scott has inspired me so much and helped me through so many things. Through Scott, I found Gord. Thank you for the gift of music and sharing this song with the rest of us, both Gord and Scott.
He killed it. Great job
Well played Scott, you did that just perfectly. Gord would be happy.
By far my favourite music video of all time
Absolutely fantastic, very unique cover.
Scott Helman is awesome !!
Awesome cover! Thank you so much.
Very impressed with this cover! Thank you for a great tribute to a great band and great man.
"We don't need no tiki torches..."
From the Christie Pits to Charlottesville. We're still trying to hold back that evil...
Thank you, Mr. Helman.
Soyboy
Not apologizing for a word of what I wrote there.
Dwight Williams because you're a soyboy
Someone here really has a problem with people who believe in human decency and resistance to evil. We've all gotten two clues, and they both involve the same insult-word being flung at me...possibly because they equate resistance to evil with a lack of masculinity. They have no willingness to admit that they've gotten a clue what masculinity is...and that Scott Helman practices it better than they do.
Fern Mccreary so what are you?
Accidently surfed in this kid did a great job gord would be pleased
Great Job, I really like what you did with it, and this is my absolute favorite song, Nice.
Wow this was really good, I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this & how it’s totally thought outside of the box but such a great tribute to Gord & The Hip!
Beautiful...😢
Love ur singing ty
BEAUTIFUL JOB!
Well done!! 😃💓
Amazing
Awesome Gord would approve "We don't need no tiki torches... push back those Arian forces"
Kari Major " voices" not forces
His voice.. IS SO DAMN GOOD
I wish this playlist was on Spotify!
Well done!
His commentary didn't particularly move the needle, but his band's arrangement and performance spoke for itself. Well done!
Well done...
Share the word of Gord!
Finely treated. Bravo
Love this cover
Fantastic cover
Fabulous.
Well done. Great cover!
This was well done
It gets better after the first little bit and turns out really well.
Gord is watching from Heaven
Listening in 2020!
Amazing. Wow..
1:50 was solid
Nice cover, you did a good job !
Great groove
So hard to cover this. Pretty good.
💖😘
Bobcaygeon like...Bobcaygeon Ontario, that Bobcaygeon
That's right - that Bobcaygeon. Gord used to call it a "cop love song" about a police officer who likes to get away to Bobcaygeon, Ontario.
i want a sample of the base all on its own
Oh,hi, I didn’t know they’d even print this!
Where can this be streamed?
vocals were fantastic, i felt the start was a little George of the jungle with the low drums, otherwise a fantastic cover
why does the opening sound like the Jumanji theme
What lol.
Some songs shouldn't be recreated. They are just fine how they are.
Classics.
I actually enjoyed listening to this though.
Ya gotta get the first line right though…
I dug it still.
No 1can sing this song like Gord
I don't know this dude but nice version of this song
You're not actually covering Gord, you're covering The Tragically Hip
Wowww, on dirait du U2 !! I love it !!
Glad you enjoyed it! It's not easy covering such a classic tune, but he did a great job!
Amazing cover but they got the first line wrong
The band rocked it. Singer did NOT do the song justice at all. Dallas’ cover is definitely the best, overall no one will ever match up to Gord himself
I appreciate the effort, but Scott's voice is a bit too high (not out of pitch, just his general timbre) and thin for the song IMO and the heavy-handed autotune is a bit contradictory to the rustic nature of the song itself.
Pashqvilli i dunno I dig it
Just heard this. I liked it - no one can ever replace Gord but this was Scott's version with his spin on it. I wouldn't have wanted to hear someone try and do Gord to the nth.
That whole introduction about respecting Gord and his music and you messed up the first line of the song… Lol
It’s supposed to be
“Left your house this morning”
Cmon, really? no one caught that?
Like 10 of you in that studio and how ever many people who listened to that through the whole session and editing… not one person ?
Cool cover, Good musicianship, tight band… but the first line of the most popular and recognized HIP songs ever… really?!
Lol
This is an offense to everything Canadian. Please delete this and and let's pretend it never existed.
being canadian is offensive in itself, the irony
This song is terrible regardless of who sings it!
I'm trans
Well done!
