Many thanks for this series of videos. Made it much easier to understand the way seasons work. Really appreciate the time and effort you have put into this.
Wish I had seen a tutorial like this when start playing with seasons with fs17. Too lazy to search and learned to use the hard way. But I'm fixing it watching your guide to fill the gaps on my knowledge ☺
Wow this vid is amazingly clear cut. keep it up man, nice to have someone on yt who actually knows how to make a tutorial vid that anyone can understand!
@@FarmerCop well I’ve currently learnt three brand new pieces of information and reaffirmed a whole ton of other pieces from the first two episodes so i’m sure i will! Maybe a run through of the process to achieve maximum possible yield from a given crop could be a cool topic for an ep (when to lime, fertilise, weed so on and so forth) As well, how to know at what time is best to harvest (reading the weather and so on)
Geos: Seasons mod has a built-in Geo, I believe is based on "somewhere in Southern England". Also some maps have their own Seasons Geo embedded, while others do not. I'm not entirely sure which maps do or don't, but I do know that any map modded by the Farming Agency does have a built-in Geo (Chellington Valley is their latest).
Seasons can be tricky, IF you are a content creator, bare that in mind too, I usually shoot video without running it just to make things simpler, other wise seasons is a good mod..
I have been playing with Seasons for a while, but this is a great refresher for some of the options or functions I don't always pay attention to. If possible, it would be interesting to see how Seasons and Precision Farming work together, specifically with the crop rotation and different soil types. Thanks.
I have a question about Cows in seasons. It appears to me that you need to feed them more than TMR. Their total health seems to require TMR, silage, hay and grass. Does feeding them TMR on its own slow down reproduction or getting to their optimal selling price? Thanks
With seasons breeding for each animal happens at different times and rates. Cows breed once per year, take about 7 months to birth and don't produce milk until a cow has birthed a calf (male cows don't breed). Sheep get pregnant in late fall, and birth late winter-early spring, they only produce wool during spring. Pigs breed almost constantly, similarly with chickens. Because of this there is no reproduction rate - I'm running sheep on Oakfield Farm, and all mature adult females will reproduce as previously noted. I buy 50 sheep when the game starts, and get no new sheep during the course of the year, but by early spring next year I will have 100 sheep.
@@neilharbott8394 Thanks for that. Do you know about the food issue with cows, specifically that TMR will work as the sole food in regular game but in seasons my cows always seem to hover at 60% health with just TMR
@@KarenTookTheKids364 That can in part be traced to lack of Straw - it's kind of a pain in seasons, because if you want slurry then you don't want to be giving your cows straw, but then that affects their health by about 5-10%, so you're probably going to end up making manure instead. As far as the food mix, I've not had an issue with only TMR when running seasons, BUT we did notice on Farmer Cops "How to do Cows" tutorial video that his cows needed it all - we assumed this was down to a mod he was running (or maybe the map).
If you use just Seasons you can still do that. If you use Seasons and Precision Farming, weeds aren't much of a problem. That may be addressed in a later update to P.F.
Weeds are not as bad as base game, they appear in small clumps, so you can ignore them for a couple years. But plowing, planting, etc do not destroy a clump, so they will immediately regrow (next midnight after the field work). Eventually you will probably want to spray them to reset their progress - and yes it is a preventative measure, once you spray there will be no new weeds until the next harvest is complete... and they will start to appear within an hour, but just small patches. When you consider other risks to crops (failure to germinate, or death due to drought) weeds are less of a concern as they merely reduce yield in the patch they've grown, where the other events cause an entire patch to not yield anything.
That should not be a seasons issue, that is a map issue or other mod issue, seasons doed not add enough fruit types to overlosd it, try taking out any other addon such as straw harvest
The game has to be forced to close, if it worked before and doesnt now woth seasons, the map will not work with seasons installed. You should avoid using seasons on an existing game save if possible
@@FarmerCop i tried to use the season mod on new game game starts with no problem but the problem is that the character can't move neither get in tractor
@@ascreations106 try to load seasons om the same map without any other mods and see if it works, if it doesnt the map does not support seaskns and if does work its a conflict with another mod you have installed
Probably should have watch this before starting a save with seasons
Same🤣
Thank you so much, I really wanted to play seasons correctly

This is gonna be awesome! Thanks for taking the time to do this.

I did wonder why the weather was so perfect for farming
Base game ones maps don't have seasons geos unless you count simplified
the best seasons fs ever had…way better than fs22
AWESOME! just what i was wondering the other day. This is legit the best account to know all the know how on farming sim
Thank you :)
never thought of using season but I'm gonna give it a shot thanks to this vid!

Looking forward to trying seasons for the first time
What’s the map called because it looks good for a fs19 map
so far so good you just earned yourself a new subscriber
Thought i'd give seasons a try as i'm more of a solo guy versus a multiplayer type. Thanks for showing me the ropes fellow farmer!
Nice video. Subscribed!
What happens if you plant a crop before it’s planting date and when it is too cold for it!
Why can't we unload potatoes we haven't used in sowing machines back out of the sowing machine?

I need help every time I install season it will glitch my game mainly my controls making the game unplayable
Thank you so much I needed this. Not to be pushie but how often will you be putting this series out. And thanks again.
Hopefully 2 to 3 of these a week starting this coming week

I found it really weird that seasons don't exist by default. How am i sowing crops at the same time I'm harvesting them?
You should do How To Use Precision Farming please
Already have a set of tutorials about precision farming :)
so quick question can you spray your field before weeds to prevent weeds like you can without seasons?
If you use just Seasons you can still do that. If you use Seasons and Precision Farming, weeds aren't much of a problem. That may be addressed in a later update to P.F.
Yes Mike is correct you can do that but in seasons that usually wastes a lot of herbicide

On Playstation in order to get to the seasons menu you hold L1 and press X. I believe
L1 + Options
How you get water free park

Yes you would but you dont have to have a geo on
Yay
how do i deal with frozen soil i can't fertilize
You have to wait for it to thaw
Does seasons work on existing saved game? And does it seasons work with precision farming?
Its not recommended but it can work on an existing save game and it is supposed to work with seasons but i have heard of it not working great
I can not get seasons going. Always says, to many fruits.

Does Seasons work well with Precision Farming? I’m trying to get gameplay as realistic as possible.
Yes, they both play well with each other.
I have not tested it
