These are fantastic Farmer Cop; I was trying my best to learn from watching people stream about Seasons but there's a lot to it and I was pretty confused. This made it way better to understand. Big thks on this. Your tutorials are a great help and make my gameplay much more enjoyable.
If your not sure if a building is seasons ready good test is to see if snow starts building up inside. Also grass bales will decay everyday in seasons even inside a building, great tutorial video FC!
The most common question and miss understandings i saw when seasons was first released was if u could turn off or just skip the % yield if u dont use the crop planner. The quick answer to that is no u can not. Regardless if u use the planner or not to plan out your crops for each year the % positives and negative yields will always be effecting your fields unless u yourself is editing the mod files and if u dont know what u are doing its a safe bet u would break the mod.
Germination happens at midnight of the day after you plant where the ground temps are high enough for the crop planted. So if you plant wheat at 39F it cannot germinate, but the day the temp hits 41F that following midnight is when germination will happen - so the field will show as "planted" until germination happens - the day following germination the field will then show "growth - stage 0" or "germination failed" depending upon what seasons determines based upon conditions.
I've learned more from your tutorials recently than I have playing this game for years lol. Keep up the great work and Thank you for your service as an Officer!! Liked and subbed!
Grass, Hay, Straw rotting: Grass (bale and loose) will decay constantly over time after the first midnight (might be the second). Hay & Straw (bale and loose) on a Seasons Ready map - is safe in a shelter, barn or other covered storage. Will rot if out in the open when it rains. Hay & Straw (bale) on a non seasons map - is safe everywhere, even in the middle of a field with no regard to weather. Hay & Straw (loose) on a non seasons map - will decay in rain whether in a barn or out in a field when it rains. Special cases - in a covered wagon rain cannot get to the Hay or Straw - open wagons allow the rain in. A loading wagon (with loose material pick up) doesn't protect from rain as they rarely have covers. - in a bale collection wagon (Ursus, Anderson) the bale is but an image (not an object), seasons cannot see images, so these bales won't be damaged if left in the rain. - UAL auto load scripted bale trailers also load with bale images, so safe from rain, BUT if you "unload" the bales onto the back of the trailer then they become bale objects and can suffer rain damage. - Storage lofts, silos and the like, store loose material out of sight of seasons, it is the one way you can store grass indefinitely (if you can find a mod which stores grass!!). - if you pick up grass with a forage harvester it's converted to chaff and it thus totally safe from rot. This does mean that if you're collecting hay during a rain storm, a dropped bale will rot (every 15 mins, by a small amount), unless you immediately pick it up with a collection wagon. So even though the loose hay on the ground will rot progressively as the rain falls, once it's on the bale collection wagon you have all the time in the world to get the bales under cover - obviously you don't want to take all of the time in the world, because the clock is still running on the loose windrows!!
WOW I just found out about seasons, I mean I knew it existed I just didnt know exactly how it worked & I'm on xbox ONE so I thought it would be "down played" (like less content/options) But its REALLY COOL so far. In going to watch this who playlist/series!!
What do you do while you’re waiting for stuff to happen? Like after planting there’s not a lot to do until fertilizer time or if weeds pop up pretty much...do you just fast forward time or is there some better way to spend your time?
Great question, this is where after you are established having animals to care for are great or doing stuff like forestry on the side that can be done any time. Or of course fast forwarding also works :)
Awesome series! I have one comment though, it is my understanding that the crop planner worked bottom to top - I think MrSealyP mentioned this in one of his videos.
@@FarmerCop awesome, that makes a lot of sense actually! Seasons is great, I’ve used it since I started playing FS19 and haven’t looked back, but I learn something new every day, and your videos are a great help!
I have tried many times to like Seasons. Unfortunately they went to far by modifying the animal system extensively. While I like seeing the seasons change and changing what I do according to the season, it took all the fun out of animal care for me. I like some realism, but this is a game and it's supposed to be fun. In the end I end up playing my games without Seasons loaded. Most of the other animal mods won't work with Seasons, so it's a no go for me. I like my animal helper and my horse breeding too much. I hope that Giant's version of it in FS 22 is more enjoyable.
I have been doing base game, no seasons the past few days ( first time ever). Growth on slow, it’s about 3 day season equivalent it seems. Is it bad that I think I like no seasons better..😔
It's not bad that you don't like seasons. However growth on Slow is nowhere close to seasons - a 3 day season gives you about 3 days to plant, 3 days to tend and 3 days for harvest. It does structure your game though - with no seasons the way to make lots of money is to turn over the fields quickly, as soon as you've harvested a field it needs to be cultivated and replanted. With seasons there's time to work all of your fields for each stage of the growth, there is no hurry to get things done.
What some folks will do is stick growth on none, then ramp it up during sleep overnight. So you have daylight to do stuff and growth happens at night time - kind of like seasons does it. Obviously there's a need to figure out how much sleep and for how long each night to approximate a season like structure.
From my recent experience, it will work. However, it will give you the option after the load screen to reset your fields to sync with seasons OR to leave them be and possibly cause sync issues. Resetting means the fields will be harvested when you load it up for the first time. My recommendation is to harvest your fields before starting seasons. There isnt any point in doing anything after the harvest. Hope this helps.
@@FarmerCop the glitch is mainly my controls I think its my game since i tried downloading the mod in three different sites I will just redownload the game
Hmmm as a real farmer the only reason you would 'fallow' a field is if you want to go broke real quick, as 1. it doesnt produce any income and 2 it kills your soil life and soil structure. Its a shame FS models a system of farming that is fundamentally broken.
This guy deserves more subs
Amen to that
He needs to be the official FS spokesperson!

I agree, he makes some of the highest quality content for Farm Sim.

I was wondering why my grass bales kept disappearing. Was thinking I couldn't place them in certain places. I now use the auto bale sheds.

I am looking to try Seasons in earnest on a new series - this is proving very helpful in making me feel a bit more comfortable in trying it. Thanks!

how you dont get more views and subs is beyond me. Great informational vids with info that no one posts on youtube. Love it, keep up the hard work

Great videos. I assume if you need to keep track of what rotation plan a field is on, keep written notes - game doesn't seem to tag that.
Is this mod compatible with the precision farming DLC? Having them both would make gameplay really interesting))
Yes it is
Your very helpful. Thanks for the great vids
What affects horse power
Germinated is lightest growth stage

Do you have a schedule for this series?
One every week it seems
Should be doing 2 to 3 a week starting this coming week

Thank you.
Can you use season on a game you've been playing or do you have to start a new game with it?
The-Drunken-Tanker you can
@@cyber2526 cool I got 70hrs on no man's land and want to try seasons

I need help with this
Is it hard to do seasons on farming simulator
Carla Freeman it can be challenging but not hard
@@cyber2526 I thinking about trying it
It's different. In a way it makes things more structured - plant in spring, fertilize through summer, harvest in fall.
Neil Harbott yeah but you can lose fields like when its too wet and you cant harvest before winter

I am not sure what would cause that

That is good to know and sad that it isnt modeled the way it should be
They should replace the fallow option with a cover crop option.
