    A blank sheet of paper. It’s the birthplace of so much art, so many ideas. Sketching, painting, writing - these are just some of the things that come to mind when we think about paper as a medium. There are a much more graceful demonstration of paper’s ability, and they are examples of what we know as origami.

    With all due respect, I find Origami infuriating because I cannot, for the life of me, actually fold correctly. I'm always a little off and it makes it a little too different than how it should be so then I unfold it but the creases are already there so I have to get another sheet of paper and mess up again, then get another sheet of paper and then another and another until I either give up or ruin an entire forest.

    Wouldn't you need at least two pieces of uncut paper to make the cactus as the cactus is green and the pot is orange?

    That Sasaki story actually made me cry. People these days romanticize suicide, thinking dying would be better than the suffering and here this kid was actually suffering from leukemia and her only wish was to live.

    • @zainab9306
      @zainab9306 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Please don't downplay the struggles of people who are actually suicidal. Physical health and mental health are two completely different things. It's true that some people and communities may romanticise suicide, but many people are actually suffering and are unable to help how they feel. Instead of comparing them to a person who has a completely different issue we need to be accommodating and help them back into the right mental space.

      I have heard a slightly different story. When she started folding cranes, her initial wish was to live, however, somewhere midway to the thousand cranes, her wish has changed and everything she wished for was peace in the world. Unfortunately, she didn't make it, her classmates and family continued her mission and reached the 1000 cranes. It became a symbol of peace and a beautiful tradition that has been passed on to other generations and still continues to thrive (at least where I live).

    Using the folding theory, couldnt you use paper to symbolize the laws of thermo dynamics? As each side would reveal the nature of the other?
