I'm sure a lot of you already know, but on May 23rd 2024 the remake for the GameCube CLASSIC Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door will release for Nintendo Switch!
I'll be playing the game LIVE the second it releases at MIDNIGHT! GET HYPE!
TH-cam does have a 12 hour stream limit, so I probably won't finish the game in one single stream. I'll be back with more once I've gotten some sleep.
Also keep in mind I won't be reading that much text or talk to NPC's. This first playthrough will be a first look at mechanics, oddities, classic exploits and general game-feel/improvements. A more slow and casual look is sure to come later.

I will of course try to pay attention to what's new. The Shadow Sirens and Vivian changes come to mind. Though I am also very excited for all the changed and BRAND NEW music.

Prince Mush boss is such a cool ass addition. It's a borderline master quest fight lol.
I saw a video of the fight where his combo did 110 damage. AFAIK, that's more damage than anything in Master Quest.
Kinda funny how they outdid Thamz.
Master has 255 hp though. Plus ttyd you yourself can have way higher stats so.
Almost makes up for making the rest of the game even easier than it was in the original lol.

@@squiddu power lift for sure. And certain enemy attacks and block timing being slightly longer.

It feels like some devs at Nintendo saw the Paper Mario 64 mods and said "Hippity Hoppity your idea is now my property"
When I got to the crane game and messed up, I was PRAYING fatguy would too. I wasn't diasappointed by the reaction.

Wow, when Fatguy was selling his stuff at Fahr outpost and someone asked if you could sell stuff in you storage now and he said no when you clearly could, that's rough to watch

Something I learned about the prince Mush fight:
Yes, he does not take damage from counters, however I did the pit before this fight any Return Postage cancels Mush’s combo attacks, dealing 0 damage to him. Of course the idea is to Superguard, but at least you only take like 20 damage instead of death.
Every time I hear the moon battle theme I think of FatGuy’s dance break at 6:06:30 and then I have to come back to watch it cuz it’s such a jam
Sadly, I wasn't able to be home to attend this. So I spoilered myself on what's coming up & now I'm interesting to see how Fatguy handles it. Might comment more later! Thanks for uploading!
I find it rather interesting that Ch 6's battle theme is so popular among people, as it's probably my least favorite of all of them. Not to say I dislike it, far from it; I love it and think it suits Riverside Station extremely well... I just happen to like every other variant more lol
Besides the "Extra" one used in the Pit of 100 Trials/Hooktail Castle/Poshley Sanctum/Riddle Tower, my own favorite is probably the Fahr Outpost or Keelhaul Key variant. The ones on the Moon and in the area around Twilight Town are amazing too imo
So close to the pit, hopefully after you stream chapter 8, you do that and tell us all the secrets about Luigi and his possible alter ego Mr. L which is still unconfirmed to this day
They put new tattle text for Goombella after you teleport back to rogueport but before you open the door from the teleporter room
Unrelated to these chapters, but they also added a tattle for Doopliss's room.

5:23:10 - eh, they're not the Team Good Guys (tm) they were decades ago, but they're still some much needed opposition to NATO, at least. I'd be pretty mad if the current war was the reason they changed the bob-ombs. I liked that there were different cultures in the Mario world that were at least implied to have different political characteristics. Nintendo will never go far with it, but I'm sure that somewhere out there, there's a good fanfic exploring the Bobombunist Party's rise to power and its fight against capitalist roaders like Goldbob.

Still. Its nice that it is now avaible for new people. But some new music and one bonus fight are no reason for me to own the remake too. Even if it belongs ro my favorit games.
Nintendo makes to many remakes and they will never stop if we not show them a "stop" sign.
That's probably not gonna happen considering tons of people wanted this remake
theres a lot more qol stuff beyond that, but either way what do you want them to do? release another 3d mario game while the switch is bleeding out?
There is a ridiculously long list of changes and additions, it's not just new music and bosses. It's the superior version of the game for the most part. However, the original GameCube version runs at a snappier 60fps and isn't as ridiculously easy as this version is. Because of that, the Switch version can't completely replace the GameCube version IMO.
