Graciaaaaaaas ❤️❤️❤️ Me encantó la introducción, el valor que das a la maquetas y que muchos jóvenes subestiman y hasta menosprecian... Just loved it...
Really enjoy and appreciate, your outstanding channel, thank you! You are both a very talented artist, and an architect! By any chance can you do an hour long video where we learn how to add Vray to Sketchup and go slower for the render? I’m a new architecture student looking to up my game in pin-ups. However, I’m having problems with getting a rhythm in sketchup and find render programs intimidating. I would really appreciate it. Thanks for everything and loved the video.
Very well explained.Excellent video!👏🏻 I uploaded one with the same kind of motive but with enscape a few weeks ago and I forgot to mention a few points that you did. 🤔
Thank you for an amazing video! your videos are always very very helpful:) I was reaaaaally curious about what type of software (photoshop/procreate) you used to make the sketch video from 54sec to 1min!
Great video. New Sub. Couple of questions: 1. Does it work to resize the material using the Sketchup materials edit option? I seem to find that that setting does not affect how the material appears in the render. I read a Chaos Group official approach is to add a Tri-planar wrap-in to the texture maps in the material and then use that wrap-in to resize the material. 2. Your model is obviously of a very large building in reality - perhaps 100’ tall. Is your Sketchup model “full size” or do you scale the geometry down until your Sketchup model is “desktop size”? Overall I’ve been struggling to make it look realistic: I end up with what looks like a 100’ tall building made from plywood, rather than. A 12” tall model made from plywood. Thanks!
Did you skip the part where you set the material in the material override rollout? You talk about the wood material but then seem to skip to setting the default material to not be overridden. Then you never go back to actually set the wood as your override material but I’m guessing that’s what you did in reality? Also, in your output images that you briefly show towards the end of the videos - are those ALL only using a single rectangular light? Or, for some of them, did you end up adding more lights? The background looks way darker in the image shown at 8:31 compared to the same one shown at 8:30 and I’m wondering how you did that without the model itself becoming either very underexposed or overexposed, unless you had one light on the model and another on the backdrop. Thanks!
Hey! 1. Yeah, in the material override option I set the wood material, and when I want to override one I go to the settings in the vray asset window of each material and tick off the -can be overridden- option. 2. Yes, all the images are using one rectangular light. What varies is the angle and size of each light, but it is always one. If in one of the images the background appears darker it is because the material of the bg was changed to a dark gray.
Just a tough. I found it a bit confusing the use of a 3D printed model (Laney LA) as an illustration whilst speaking about the importance of creating the physical model......
Awesome tutorial! Im sad however cos i dont think Vray have a student version i can use for uni, theres a version for lumion but dunno if itd quite look the same?
There absolutely IS an educational license for VRay. $99 for the year including tech support. $149 for the year for the full VRay collection (for 3DSMax, Maya, etc) 👍 www.chaosgroup.com/vray/education-collection
That moment when you are watching this video wondering how the heck he did that and then he says Medellin, in Colombia where I live and I was mood: Kelly pero khé mondá JAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJA, buenísimo vídeo.
I also was fond of that "physical maquette volume study better than 3d volume study" theory..... because i was told so.... but then, let's be honest, its always beautiful and snobby to say that, but reality is you can never experience your volume at a human scale except if you built it and its too late, or at least simulate that in a 3d software
I kind of agree on this one, not sure. Let's clear the air and agree on the fact that NOTHING is better than doing an actual maquette, that is for sure, no questions asked. Now, seeing pictures of a maquette (digital or not) does transmit a different feeling than seeing classic 3d diagrams and volume studies. There is something in the DOF, large material textures and imperfection of maquettes that tricks your eye and makes you understand the scale, more than that of a 3d model. Now what I don't get, is why you think it's snobby? Genuinely interested to know :)
3d printing kind of funny some still make them yet can't freehand draw or photography there are other skills to do instead of wasting time making models

Hello! I have a question, is the perspective camera view or parallel projection camera view more realistic for a digital maquette?
plz steven do this maquette render in lumion ❤

which enviroment textire you use? i can't reach the same effect :(

Models only make sense when you can actually experience them in a real life a picture can easily be replaced by a rendered mode
