I’d love to see how shadow’s personality develops into the more cold, calculated hero. We see here his heart is in a good place and he just wants to help his friend. He is warm with her. Maybe they can show him have a moment of hesitation to act when he needed to, (hesitating to kill or harm a human soldier due to his good nature) and that may have been what cost Maria her life, so now the reason he’s so focused on every mission and is willing to do whatever it takes, even if it’s ruthless, is because he failed to do that before, and it cost him someone that he cared about
The immersion in this is unreal
It really felt like Emerl was breaking in

They went with an ass show like prime instead of actually doing full on anime. They would have had like what? A whole 5+ year old anime? I think that they don’t have this because they don’t wanna pay ppl for making anime’s this long. Also wouldn’t they fire the VAs that we got rn if they were to do this? But they could take inspiration from dragon ball, sonic x and sonic boom where it’s lighthearted and has great fights. Idk I just wanna see anime shadow again but this time with better animations and better quality. Maybe sonic XZ??
Emerl was being held in the Experimental Weapons Wing. The voice was the AI alerting Gerald that the Gizoid had breached containment.
Maria's voice actress voices Hinata in Naruto, Orihime in Bleach, Yui from Sword Art Online and lots of other great fictional characters. Amazing choice Stephanie Sheh

this animation be lookin fire, but the crazy part about the preview shown is that it's literally an animated version of one of gerald's diary entries from sonic battle (diary entry 6 to be exact). they really looked back on all the sonic lore for this.
This is Perfect, Perfect, Everything down to the Last Minute Details and Lore that I felt Emotional and seen Shadow and Maria’s Bond is Wholesome and Heartwarming, plus I didn’t expect Emerl Appearing.

emerl has the ability to copy anybody’s abilities and he’s connected to shadow
There isn’t a 4th character. They’ve confirmed that’s not what the image was saying. It’s just characters important to the story.

3D animation implies there's going to be a full fight scene between the two and I am SO IMPATIENT
For anyone wondering why Emerl is there, one of Geralds diaries in Sonic Battle talks about how they activated the Gizoid on the Ark, and it went on a rampage, destroying most of the facility before it could be subdued. This isn't supposed to be the G.U.N. raid.
I’ve always said this, we need more Sonic anime, not just shorts or prologues but a whole series. Just imagine Sonic IDW Anime Season 1. That would be insanely hype! Please, Sega, make it happen!
Same, bro! In my opinion, I think the Sonic franchise and the Mainline Sonic games should lean more on the anime influence. I will always believe that Sonic is an anime character. I stand by that.

This makes sense, cuz In Sonic Battle Gerald through his journals describes his research and study of Emerl until he absorbed too much weaponry and went on a rampage, The animation is showing us those events!

I completely agree with you that we need more official Sonic media in an anime art style because, let's face it, the Sonic games are basically a shonen anime in the form of video games. The Sonic franchise in an anime art style is fucking peak.
3 Things: 1) Sam & Kenny Screamed So Loud that the Alarm went off, 2) This Minute Animation was Epic & made me a Tiny but emotional, 3) I guess this confirms that Emerald is the Mystery Character in the Shadow Generation Slot Right 😅

but the glitchy part where Maria held his hand, i think there are actually 2 gun soldiers, the barrel of the gun showing very closely(the two big circles) u could almost see the soilder in the front hold the middle of the gun

The only 2 nitpicks I have is the delivery of Shadow’s lines at the start, it just sounds off to me and the other is the scattering animation for Shadow looks a bit to stiff to me, especially in the hands. Like his hands look like they are stuck in the T-pose position and not slightly bent like he usually has them in the games. Other than that this looks absolutely beautiful! I can not wait for the full short.
One thing I’m questioning with this animation Is that is this made with CGI or is this 2D animated? because some shots have me conflicted cause either they composited the after effects like the lighting over top of the 2D very damn well or it’s really amazing rendered Cell shaded like CGI with a lowered frame rate with 2D effects over it being the flashes explosion and smoke animation? (Wanted to add a side note) And when I mean what’s animated I mean the animation on the characters because from the looks of it to me it clearly looks like everything else like the environment is CGI I think like I’ve said idk either way the animation looks incredible either way.
