There are some elements that are lock in step from the movie but I think The Run is the one that most resembles the movie… and that game’s pretty much the basis for the movie. The fact that the protagonist had to literally travel cross-country just to get into the De Leon. The Run basically had that but saw more action in the lead up.
Because they were scared of the House back then. Ty and his crew were the only ones who willingly stood up to the House, even putting their lives at risk. Plus, Ty and Jess on Lina go a long way back.

Super disappointed that the main focus of the marketing was the one heist (pretty much the whole scene) and its the only major event to even happen in the whole story, also like 80% of the cutscenes are cars next to each other with dialogue and they use reuse animation for the same missions. Super glad I waited to see how the story and gameplay would be, saved me some money.
Nah, one thing about the run is that it didn't have enough cutscenes. They would describe your foes backstories on a loading screen which was disappointing. Never properly explained why Jack was Running from the mob in the first place. However, Jack was a FAR better character than Payback's Trio.

Goes to show that they're street racers through and through and they would go against anything to freely race in their town. It's pretty ok actually. They kept the story simple.
The story and the multiple tiered car events made me like this one more than heat. Three different people to choose from and a semi engaging story. Most nfs stories are plain to me but the real treat is the driving mechanics. This one is leaned towards the arcade style of driving but you bet your ass you can make a car fishtail around a bend no problem unless it's a drag. The speed cards are a down also if your looking for specific modification buffs for your ride.
I was kind of disappointed to learn that there's hardly anything to tune each car, but I did kind of enjoy the overall driving experience. Speedcross cars felt understeery for some reason, only to find out my suspicion was right: There's no ABS braking once you hit 100 kph and slower.
