      Yes, I tried that last year and it didn't really take well as the soil is so heavy, but I will likely try again this year!

    Everything looks absolutely beautiful as usual!! I love the fireside ninebark very much like my black ninebark from PW. I planted some hakonechloa grass and can't wait to see it as it grows. Glad you are feeling better 😊

    As always, your gardens are inspiring and give me so many ideas, tips, and color combos as well as what I can grow in pots to move around and enhance different areas in small spaces! Question: Does your purple fountain grass grow as perennial? I'm adding ornamental grass for fall and winter interest for 2025. I really like your Guara and verbena b. for that 'flowing in the wind' effect! Keep those walkabouts coming!🌻🌼

      So nice of you, thank you. The purple fountain grass is just an annual in my zone but I wanted to fill in some space as that new garden bed matures.

    Soleil, I hope you're feeling better. On your question and answer series, would you teach us about how to really grown begonias successfully in different zones, aka zones 9-10. Another q n' a might be how to successfully grow hydrangeas in zones, aka 9-10 etc. Another idea might be how to grow and maintain grasses and ferns. Your gardens look awesome.

    i used to walk with my dog along a baseball field fence along the edge of the woods, and there was a big orb weaver there on the fence in the outfield.. id walk by there once a week, and we became friends.. one day, there was another orb weaver spider next to the big one, with its own smaller web.. they were so cool looking, i asked them if they wanted to be a gang.. they accepted, and we started hanging out, catching insects in the sunlit morning mist... well, one day, someone mustv came and blew them away with a leaf blower, so i was on my own once again, naturally

    I love ninebarks. I had one but took it out because I got powdery mildew on it every year starting very early in the season. I even started to preventative spraying. 😢 I am thinking it was an older one and perhaps I should try again with a different one that is mildew resistant.

    • @Suburbanoasis
      @Suburbanoasis  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think they may be a little more resistant, but some climates are more prone to powdery mildew than others. The more air circulation can help reduce it too.

    How large does the crimson Japanese maple get that is under your pinky winky? I have a pinky winky on the corner of my house that I would like to underplant.

    • @Suburbanoasis
      @Suburbanoasis  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It said it could get up to 8 feet tall in 10 years so slow grower. So I will have to see how the two plants play together over the years. You may want to look for a dwarf size one!

    Does the hostas hold up to the heat

    • @Suburbanoasis

      Yes, as long as they have shade and water. They are tough plants!
