- Rarely reviewed in TNP, here comes a slender camouflaged office knife. This is the CRKT CEO whose trimness is deceptive to the average office sheeple. They'll think it to be a pen. But surprise: it is a full functional, sharp, serviceable EDC knife. The 8Cr13Mov pen blade has a nice grind and is very sharp. Add in deep carry pocket clip, tight lockup, innovative design, and value. We concentrate on the high value ($40) black FRN version but then the super cool Olive Drab Micarta handled/Copper frame BHQ Special CEO makes an appearance... I suspect you'll want that version. I do.

Annnd it's gone already. Do an executive model in carbon fiber, titanium liners, S30V blade! Maybe do a combo with a sleek matching or resin pen that's Mont Blanc refill compatible.

@Bunnyshooter 223 The CRKT Ruger +p Hollow point is a good knife. The blade rolls on ball bearings when opening and closing. That's the one I like to carry.

I purchased the CEO last year, is an awesome knife tool, for everyday carry. I work in an office with executive environment... almost always dressed in a suit, and having an option to finally carry a knife with which I can open letters, slice a fruit or snack mid-morning, open some packing or boxing is just great... and all of this in a very discrete way, because even with knife just placed on my desk top it just passes as pen or something else. Therefore, is not a threatening thing to carry around.
Once, i was having lunch with some colleagues, and I asked for a steak and the knife they gave me at the restaurant was very dull, the I took out the CEO and flipped out the blade and just went to cut the meat like butter every one was like WTF... is that a knife you´re carrying !!! now two of my other friends not only purchased it, but also started to get into knives in general and are buying other models.
I got this knife for all my groomsmen for my wedding they were also engraved with their names from blade HQ I love this knife

I looked over the CEO at Blade Show, and I found the knife to be really light weight but difficult to deploy. The BHQ version is a handsome blade!
My girl got this for me for Christmas I love it! It stays in my pen holder!
Carried this this every day since I bought it! The main downside is the cutting edge comes out far enough from the handle when closed to cut you if you're dumb enough to slide your thumb across the back.
Glad they went with micarta on the release. Gorgeous knife and I think it’s more low profile, black clip doesn’t attract attention. Wish they’d left the logo off the clip but otherwise, a great piece of knife work. And while it’s not ideal for self defense, the kubotan option is great and it really fits the hand well for that use. Rather not cut anyone if I can encourage them otherwise.

That’s my EDC knife- bought them as gifts for customers too.. holds a nice edge- the automatic feature takes some practice... only cut myself twice!

Handled the original CEO at shot show earlier this year and immediately ordered one while I was still on the floor, ordered the green micarda and D2 steel model that got released today a few hours ago. Nice to see a nutn review making me long for it to get shipped soon.

When you put it in a pocket, people can see the CRKT and break into horror that someone has a knife. Just make it a mat finish with fine sand paper or steel wool. Thanks for the videos.

Bought one of these as soon as it was released, been my go to EDC since. Great for opening mail. Deployment did take some getting used to, but it opens great once you get the motion down.
I have one, it's my go-to for suit-and-tie or tuxedo occasions. That's actually why I bought it; it is inconspicuous in a suit pocket, and doesn't pull down on pockets in tuxes, which are always thin and sag easily. The CEO came shaving sharp and has kept its edge, which is used mostly for letters, packages, orange skins, etc. The CRKT and an NAA Mini Shadow are a super low profile set for formal wear.
I like it due to it's uniqueness. Not the most practical knife, yet one I still enjoy keeping on my desk
I've used the CEO for EDC very day for the last year, I love this knife. It's so small, light and it disappears in your pocket. Love it. It's a bit flimsy but for what I use it for it's perfect. The SOG Tomcat comes out for heavier duty cutting.
Purchased three, giving one to my CEO. Love the lightweight and ability to carry it in my chest pocket without anyone knowing it’s a knife.
I need a new knife like I need another hole in my head but I must have that S.E.! Love my CEO. Took a bit of time to learn how to open it quickly but with a bit of patience and practice I have no problems with medium sized hands.
Bought this knife a while ago. It solved a problem for me. I wanted something I could use for utility for for cutting food. I could not find a single knife with the balance I was comfortable with. Now I pair the CEO with my Spyderco Tenacious and the combination is perfect for my needs.
You hit all the points with the knife, it's a great value.

Found 20 or so crkt's at a pawn shop from 10 to 20 dollars at the most. Bought a few ceo's the bamboo, flipper etc for 15 each. Got all three provokes the orange, yellow and aluminum for 20 each. Among others. Bever thought of crkt before this. But i couldn't pass up the opportunity.
Great now I have to buy both to make one blacked out rad knife. Totally worth it I just found out about the CEO last night and wow gonna have to put the ZT away for a while.

The pocket clip bent off way to easy while delivering wine. What it caught on I have no idea lol! I still carry it though when I dress fancy for work. Love it for it's form factor.

I love my CEO, it's a great EDC knife and does everything I require of it with ease. I have several EDC blades that I rotate depending on my mood and the planned environment and tasks for the day - Griptilian, Paramilitary 2, ZT Sinkevich, Victorinox Ranger XT and a knife that surprised the heck outta me the Boker Magnum Ranger (caught a lot of flak from some knife "experts" that I work with, butthat knife has been used, abused and put through hell and it keep rocking)
The CEO is perfect when I have to be suited up and I need a low key knife. It works great for most tasks and is used multiple a day when I have it, though I probably wouldn't take it with me when hiking or spending time in the woods 😉
This is my go-to suit and tuxedo knife. Its lightweight enough not to pull too much in the inside pocket of a nice blazer and wont ruin silk or other delicate fabric lining

It's a sick knife! But it's not a G10 handle; it's geen Micarta... (nutnfancy was wrong!) I think it's kinda a cool touch for this knife.. (But nevertheless, nutnfancy needs to quit lying to us!)

Holy Cow what an intro!
Been carrying one for quite a while now. One thing, the clip is easy to break if it gets snagged up on something. The weak point is the first hole. Also not much of a flipper, but it is a pretty nice blade for edc.
I have been carrying this knife for about a year and love it.
Have the Bamboo version and like it a lot but still haven’t gotten the hang of one handed opening! Hard on the thumb!

If no one knows you are lucky but many bad guys do know. Unlike many, for the last 15 years I have carried one sharp pocket knife, a CRKT but the initials (pretty faded) are on the blade near the thumb stud. No harm intended.

I volunteer at a Neo-Natal ICU. The moms were giving me the "look" when ever they noticed the large folder clipped into my jeans pocket.
My son gave me the CEO as a birthday present. The CEO rides in my shirt pocket just like a pen and isn't noticed by the Moms.

Man its Xmas I need one bad and love CRKT knifes and Kershaw knifes both I have to say brands always exceed your expectations for quality affordable and you can use one I don't own a 500 dollar knife but if I did it would be at home in the box in real life this looks like it works.

Tip up is appropriate for shirt pockets because your thumb is pointed opposite from your pants pocket when you go for it.

For a lefty it’s not bad to hold the clip detent with your thumb and deploy with a middle finger on the backside. Is seems the angle is better too. Vs what your thumb wants to do on a right hand. If I was right handed this knife will take some adjusting to open. It needs more of a 45upwards angle to want to open. For a lefty the middle finger tip is at that angle already. Opposite ergo of right handers that hold the clip detent with middle finger and deploy with a thumb. I like it main gripe is the square edges on the bottom bite the palm a bit, I like the look and the IkBs smooth action.

the skin from my thumb is still peeling from deploying my ceo over and over again. its very hard at first but once you get the angle and right amount of force down, it deploys effortlessly.

anytime the blade folds completely into the handle, i dig it. This one is a little too skinny for my taste, but still, it's pretty rad.

any Cold Steel Spectre fans out there? i bought mine for 99 bucks (i wasnt going to pay 400 for one!!) and i love it!!! i almost only carry it when im dressed fancy, to me it seems more of a gentlemans knife. slim, light, sexy, and deadly. Not a tactical blade but i wouldnt want to have someone pull one on me. beautiful lines, titanium, micarta scales, great knife in my opinion, in the same vein as this blade.
That flat bottom can be used to hammer down on loose staples that can hurt you. No, I'm not kidding.
Want to get really detailed model aircraft, make your own with scale plastic models. Never built a model in my life but wanted the aircraft and a carrier that I was on and dealt with when was in Navy. Few years bk I got my first model. Really was easy to put it together and depending on the model you get and spend maybe $25 to $50 u can get amazing aircraft that are 100% detailed, hardest thing for me with a model is the painting part. I actually just got a f-35 b model 1/72 scale I’m going to be putting together for myself in few weeks. They really are amazing with the quality of aircraft plastic models nowadays from the older models I’ve seen since getting into it recently. Plus if it is missing a detail you can always scratch build a part easy for yourself. Be amazed on how well some people make these models look. They do dioramas and everything with em. Crazy if into model aircraft like I got into to.
But second note I have to apologize. Your my favorite TH-camr and I haven’t seen a video in awhile. So glad looked online and saw a knife review. Love em. So happy I can go bk a few months now and get caught up on stuff missed on your channel past few months..keep up great work as always.. still think you are the king of shot show and blade show. Really hope you do them again like used to bk in day. Now got so many copycats and granted some are great to. Hits all the marks for me when it comes to an office knife. The only flaw I've found is that the clip is not strong enough to securely sit in a pocket that is made of skinnier fabric ie slacks
i had the crkt fossil that i loved until the tip broke trying to open the oil cap on my chainsaw and the tip broke. the cap wasmade of plastic. kershaw volt ss is my favorite edc knife. stainless steel so it slides out of pocket easily/fast but has plastic spacer with good jimping. the blade is easy to sharpen and has awesome high jimping for thumb.best edc knife for 30 $. very balanced comfortable in the hand knife.
Only complaint about mine is the scales are really cheesy. They’re thin flimsy plastic that bows slightly and you can see light under them. Some sandblasted then anodized aluminum scales that fit properly would make it 10x better.

I have one, its decent but it is a bit hard to open and close. The detent is a bit stiff when its closed and the liner lock is hard to get to with one hand. Wouldn't be hard to fix though if they wanted to. I really wish they would have done that instead of messing with the color and blade steel. For 40 bucks though its a nice, easy to carry knife when I am in a "dressier" situation. This is exactly what they market it as, a light duty knife for a business or executive type situation. This is not an every day carry for someone that will actually use a knife for more than opening letters or trimming off threads on their suit. And its plenty good enough to cut a seat belt if needed, do emergency field surgery or cause serious harm if it had to. If they worked tuning it to open and close a bit easier I think they could easily ask twice the money for it.
As a lefty I need to be more careful with my knife purchases, this knife taught me that. I really wanted to love it but it doesn't work for me. want the back flipper though.
Man oh man i love jets , fighters, bombers , heck aircraft in general . I can remember at 10 yo the first time i heard sonic boom . It scared the bejesus out of me , on airforce base in Ohio. I got my first taste of neopolitian space ice cream . Ahh... A better time , a much simpler time . Looking bk , i wished i had joined the U.S.A.F . Great table top review on the f35 , oh yea the knives were sweet too. Thumbs up.
A refreshing knife review
Not to be a dud, but the near four minute "plane talk" intro was a bit laborious. I'd save those highlights and fantasy talk for closer to the end. :) So, how well do you think this particular blade will keep its edge? Is the D2 steel a much more better option? Does the cost justify the D2? Thanks for your time.
