  • I borrow my friends board and make a review, thanks for that! Is this cheap Lidl / Mistral board worth it's money? How is quality after 3 years of use?

    I bought one this year and really enjoy it as a fun board. I agree your comments about tracking. No leaks. I also have a slight twist. Great for the price point as you say. Thanks

    Thanks for the review. I bought a cheap board from Tesco supermarket about £115 for my g children. They get a lot of fun out of it but the Lidl one seems better as they only have one main fin but as I said all they do is get on it and jump off!

      We did the same to our kids, two cheap supermarket board. Both started to leak on the third season. This Lidl is much better but have also started to leak season three.
      Sounds like your g children have a great time in the water with the boards!🤗

    The 2024 version only has one larger fin. I assume that makes the tracking worse? I would value your thoughts.

      Looked on their website, looks like they just skip the side fins, so it could be worse if they don't have change other things, very hard to tell just by looking at their picture.

    What kind of models/brands would you suggest looking at for that bit more increased price for quality you mention at the end of the video?

      I think it´s called Mistral Sport, 12´6x30, that is better. I don't recommend F2 that Lidl sell, seems not to be good quality. Aqua Marina have been quiet good quality but I have not looked on their latest range. I'm have not the best knowledge in this price range. I like starboard because of their quality, Starboard's bounded technique instead of gluing is awesome!

    The Mistral must have felt like a slug after the skinny boards you paddled with Martin Hunter. I think beginners like to buy a cheap, stable board in case they don't like stand up paddling. A good quality board in Australia is a big investment. It's a shame that after 3 years the board is failing and destined for the trash. I also wonder why they make the pumps so short and the handle grips so narrow. Your review was very comprehensive.

      Yea, really slow, we are used to faster boards. Martin Hunter, by the way he is from Australia, Martins yster is the fastest ever I’ve paddle, so light to paddle. Yea, also we bought cheap in the beginning. All our cheap board have started to leak. They were good for two years.🤗

    Is there any on the market that is better but still affordable?
    Can you recommend any?
    Thanks😊

      Mistral Race is much better, I like that, but not as stable. What do you want, stable, fast, what will you do with the board, fun, recreation, touring? Paddle on calm lake, rivers, sea, swell?🤗

    Is it worth buying mistral 12.6 race board? its going for 200€ in few days

      @danerik.westerlind  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think Mistrals 12’6 race board is a good board. Much better than this 10’5 that I reviewed in this video. 200€ is a good price.

      @@danerik.westerlind Is it better? I am little bit worried bc of my 6'4 height and 94kilos if it is gonna be stable.. The one in the video will go for 250€.

      @@inevern8027 I’m think 12’6 tracks better and goes faster. Hard for me to say, I’m shorter and less weight. I always recommend try before buy.
