I’ve owned a circuit since new and haven’t been disappointed yet. Brings me back to the sti hatch
I hate Subaru refuses to make a wrx hatch. Or anything with the 2.4 turbo and a manual. Sti is dead. Wth are they doing.
After months of waiting I'm getting a 2024 circuit edition in white at msrp. It'll be here in April. I cannot wait
How is it? Hope u got it already.
@Hawallanxx wow did things change over the past few months. I last minute drove the new s650 mustang. To make a long story short, I did not enjoy it. The ford dealership had a trade in..22 SS 1le in rapid blue. Single owner 12,000 miles. I've had it for a month now and I absolutely love it. To end the debate in my head about getting another v8 or the awd gr corolla, one of the physicians I work with owns one. I got to ride in it. Don't get me wrong its a really cool car that can be driven anywhere. But I cannot be happier with the decision I made. I'm sure someone else is having a blast in that new circuit though. Hope it made someone's day when they got the call to be next in line.
Here in South Africa we are one of the few countries that get both the GR Yaris and Corolla.
How is it driving
@@liltacticalshotgun6372 I wouldn't know, I have a corolla cross sorry 😅
GR corolla is worth every penny . A rally legal road is really awesome 🔥
Where can we find rally legal roads 🔥
Most of the regular roads in the north east. lol. Broken, terrible everywhere.
Until the 3 banger 20psi turbo engine explodes at 50k miles
Gr Yaris been out since 2020, no “explosions” to speak of. Apart from ppl tuning it to about 500hp.
@@KN-jw7ts 4 years isn't a good indicator of reliability. Even Jeeps will last that long without problems.
2010 Corolla S has survived 2 of my brothers, hit by a deer (twice), crazy ex-girlfriend, over 200,000 miles, and its still going👍
Crazy ex-girlfriend ... xD
I loved mine on the dry and wet, I really understood it when it started snowing! The GR-Four system is really what is differentiating the car from the rest. You can be fast in such confidence on icy and snow conditions. It gets sideway and just tracks where your eyes are pointing. You can place the front where you want and go totally gazoo on the gas pedal! It finds grip. You only really ever use the handbrake for quick half-turns.
My Kia Stinger GT can do the same and it's twice the length
Had one since October. Love it dearly.
18:19 Tommy, correction: Toyota was sterile in the 2000s & 2010s. In the 90s Toyota made the Supra and MR-2.
And celica
They were NEVER sterile
Smiles all around, that must've been a lot of fun. Makes me want to buy a Corolla GR for a daily driver lol. These can be had at or near MSRP as well.
This reminds me of another 300hp AWD Japanese 4 door car... The Lancer Evo. I'd love to see these two go head to head.
I think a point that rarely gets reported when talking about GR Corolla's adjustable torque splits is that no matter what mode you put it in, it is still primarily a FWD car and will only send "up to" 50% or 70% or 40% to the rear wheels when needed. So it makes sense to me that in the dry, especially in street driving, Tommy couldn't really appreciate the AWD system, but on snow and ice, you can bet that those clutch packs which shift power around were working hard. That said, I think Tommy would be surprised at how much fun a FWD car like the Civic Type R with snow tires can be in those conditions. Team O'Neil Rally School starts off all their students in FWD Fiestas and when students have a choice after having been cycled through RWD, AWD and FWD rally-prepped cars, many return to the FWD cars according to Team O'Neil.
This totota is everything i want my cobalt too be so im definitely saving up and getting one
Im gonna have to get a set of these Bridgstone Blizzak tires for my GRC before winter hits!
No more boring cars....TOY..it's in the name😊❤
Jesus Christ I've been subbed to TFL truck and like 3 of their other channels for like 5 years, and still to this day I'm just now discovering new channels. How many channels do y'all have ??
It’s great on ice because it’s cold enough to prevent the rear differential from overheating.
Will sell like hotcakes, Roman is right, worth EVERY penny and then some!
I think i would have had just as much fun in the 2008 g37x i drove in highschool.
Hey guys ! Can you find out when the Volkswagen Sirroco its coming back ? they were great cars.
I’ve had mine for a year next week❤
I hate markups they should be illegal
Worth every penny in this case
I want one so bad to replace my Fiesta ST. But I ended up with a full sized Bronco as a second car
In the last 10 years dedicated snow tires have become standard in most of Canada. This is why.
Where is the Type R at? I want it to see a lap run between those 2!
Testing another vehicle we cannot buy, it's somewhat affordable but nowhere to be found! The maintenance of this hot hatch is crazy too!
I'm a long-time Blizzak fan, but I'm skeptical that a studless tire can outperform a studded tire. I would like to see that tested
I wonder how the rust proofing from factory is.
FYI hair comb has already been invented guys...
I wouldn’t mind more turbo charged manual hatchbacks.
So weird and so cool to see Toyota have a 4WD hot hatch on the product line up, when everyone else has gotten rid of them.
Europe has 44 countries, they are NOT one big country... tired of hearing them being bunch up as if they were.
I would buy a Lexus version of this in automatic and if was lifted with AT tires.
But if I can't get 1, what's the point of Toyota showcasing it? Nyah nyah, look what Toyota won't sell you? This is where we are now....
Totally agree, don't waste my time. I had to stop watching by 5min in the video.
Global audience. European tubers don't get views.
prob not street legal in EU
@@JogBird of course it is. I have seen them on road for couple years already. You just walk in and buy
It was a driving school held by Bridgestone. Not toyota 😂😂
Auto transmission will make sell more and guarantee another gen. Hopefully, Toyota does it.
That thing is hot! 🔥🔥🔥
If there’s a markup it isn’t under $50k
Only thing is at 186 tall I can't really fit in it. It feels claustrophobic. Also WAY tooo expensive for what it is, especially with that interior.
Too bad they are not easier to get because they would sell a lot.
"FLUFFY SNOW"😂 need to work on the diction there.
Sko Buffs!!
Disagree about price. Will never pay $50lk for a car.
every time I see people praising the Corolla GR, I know they are actually hating their lives because they can't have the Yaris 😂😂😂😂
How many times did the rear diff overheat, making it fwd only?
Is that a known issue on the GR?
@@YusufGinnah definitely
U don’t understand how these difs work huh? Just read that somewhere I imagine. That won’t happen on loose surfaces. Difs overheating with only be an issue on a dry track.
@@KN-jw7ts Why make excuses for them? For the price they are asking, and Toyota marketing it as a high performance offering, it shouldn't be happening at all.
Won't see that on the streets on the way to the grocery store and cars & coffee
MADA 3 HATCH VS TOYOTA COROLLA HATCH (THATS A NICE HATCH RACE GUYS) OR SNOW RACE MAYBE
Corolla GR the only new Toyota worth it everything else not so much.
🔥🔥🔥
Roman, who is building all these electric vehicles you keep lamenting about? I get it you don’t like EVs. Show me a comparable car to this or any fully electric sports car.
Save 20 minutes.... Its AWD. They all do great in snow. My impreza, SHO, mazda 3 awd, tacoma, and every other vehicle on the planet with AWD will get through snow like a beast. Even on ahit all season tires.
Toyota really dominated this segment for decades.
Honda still toying around with stupid FWD and disastrous Turbo engines with oil dilution issues and head gasket issues. I am shocked Honda still making the Type R.
I prefer the grc as well, but I wouldn’t go that far…..ppl love the type R. But certainly doesn’t have all season capabilities like this thing.
umm they DON"T have head gasket issues or oil dilution problems, so STOP
Well Honda is a FWD company they specialize in it, The Type R has always been FWD and they don't plan to change that anytime soon...
@@DaleWillyyes, head gasket issues and oil dilution issues. We have fixed hundreds of them since 2016 up to now. Honda has become corrupt by lying to their customers.
I think the engine you specifically talk about is the 1.5L turbo 4 cylinder. That’s the problematic one and it only exists in some trims of Honda Accord, CR-V, and highest trims of Civic (including Civic SI). The Civic Type R has a different engine: 2L Turbo 4. This engine so far has no issues.
A 4 door(5really) without back seats? I’ll pass
This is a limited Morizo Edition that is no longer on production. The Core,Premium and Circuit Edition have back seats
It might be cool but once you get to the rear of the car it’s pretty ugly, and at this price point why would you not go with a something like a Subaru, you could get a Mustang, challenger, charger, etc… there are IMO way better options for performance vehicles and AWD vehicles that would be way more fun to daily drive then this at this price point🤷♂️
🤦♂️
To be honest, you could literally say that about any vehicle, right down to a smart car. Price is no object versus the subjective passion of someone else.
Why are so many engines failing in these?
High compression displacement. You've got a 1.6 Liter 3 Cylinder Engine in this GR Corolla making 300hp. You are going to wear out the engine so much faster that way. Unless the components are forged and designed to handle that increased power the engine won't last it just won't. The more power and greater displacement you put on an engine the shorter it's longevity. It's why I'll stay with my V6 or even V8 engines. They've more tolerance to withstand higher compression and greater horsepower figures as there is more material to contain it. Like if you go to any dragstrip you'll always see these 4 cylinders blowing up whereas these built V6's and V8's or larger hold up to the abuse much better.
All these Turbo 4 Cylinders are fun an thrilling to drive, there isn't any doubt about that. But when you beat on them hard on the daily expect to see issues down the road. They are not designed to be hammered away on daily. Unless you want to spend money in repairs or spending money upgrading engine components to prevent this go with something more robust. That or your only other option just don't drive it aggressively which is going to be difficult for a large number of people who want enthusiast vehicles such as this.
The engine is under extreme stresses to produce the output it does, considering it's only 3 cylinders and a sub-2l displacement coupled with high boost.
Even more so when you consider that VW uses a 2l/4-cyl in the Golf R to produce similar numbers.
Haven't read about engines failures, but that wouldn't surprise me. I've been saying this will put a dent in Toyota's reliability. I _have_ read about clutches dying extremely early, and not only via abuse. There is some decent documentation out there on that one.
@@viktorbryce951 This isn't a turbo four... If it were, there would be much less concern. Why they didn't use a 2.0 I4 like nearly everyone else in the world, I have no idea.
Are they? Haven't heard about them and I follow them on the forums
Aitn no way IMO this is 40k car...3 cylinder?? Hahah lol , no way. If I got 40k and was interested in a rally type AWD car, Im going Subaru first then Mini.
😂. Spoken like a guy that hasn’t driven one. Anyone that actually has, says the exact opposite.
@@KN-jw7ts well see how that 300hp turbo charged 3 banger is doing 5 years from now
Yaris has been holding up. Good indicator unless you're going mod crazy - like with any car
@@KN-jw7ts spoken like a true toyota fangirl. When youre done huffing your own farts, come back to reality, and realize Toyota is not the all reliable car maker they once were.
@@negativeslimStill be on the road, NO issues
I hate Tommy’s accent
