I've watched this 20+ times (purple belt UK) and it seriously is the best series of jujitsu vids on TH-cam. I've known and used the kimura many times but this has gave me whole new perspective.
    Thank you.

„Fixation can backfire“ most Important quote for beginners who want to learn how to attack properly. Knowing what you doing next while your Opposition only thinking about the escape ist the equivalent of tempo and forced moves in Chess.

Started my journey in 2003 but let a business venture get in the way. Working on my purple belt now from the absolute best, and I still love watching Roy Dean. I am a teacher and watching him translate information / teach is humbling. I would consider moving out to his area for awhile and learning from him. Subscribed

Who are the ppl that dislike this and why? This is a really good overview of how to apply the Kimura in a vast number of situations. I wonder if it is because some people don't understand the mechanics or they just don't like grappling or something? I don't feel like there is much if anything to criticize from a technical standpoint.

Watching the smoothness of these even on a non-resisting opponent is amazing. I'm a brand new white belt and having just learned the Kimura and a triangle choke--those two videos opened my eyes to the stuff I've been missing. Of course, watching it is way easier than pulling it off in muscle memory during a roll. I've been watching others roll in my class and see these opportunities from the outside very easily the more I watch and compare. Thanks for these videos.

very technical videos,in Judo we first learn the Ude Garami (Kimura) from the mount position, you are an Artist grappler and your application of the moves is straight forward like in Judo and not like other BJJ where their enteries require many manoeuvres to achieve a technique and that's why i like your approach(simple and effective),a big thanks for a Nidan Judoka for sharing your knowledge with us grapplers.

Well put together video. I like when people who are good at BJJ talk about basics, not some sort of a triple roll leg lock which results in a crab submission.

Love these. Could you make one for using the lapel as an offensive and defensive tool. From white belt to black belt perspective. As a Whiye belt. I e learned a few ways to use the opponents lapel as well as my own to stop them in their movements as well as trapping and submitting. Maybe too broad of a topic to make one video. Just want your perspective on lapel using.
