That’s me after I graduate college and get my own house. I don’t want a dog or a girlfriend. All I want is solitude. And if anyone asks me that question, that’s my answer.
@@Venus.Yas a trans person myself I agree. completely ruined her character. throughout the entire show she is constantly saying that she doesn’t want to be treated like/be seen as a man and then suddenly in the last season she wants to be a man?? it felt really forced.
"I don't hate you! That's the awful part of it, I love you!" It absolutely broke my heart, because you know how much Beoste genuinely loved her husband, I'm happy she had the courage to leave him.
I know everyone gushes over Shanon’s part but can we appreciate the way he plays an abusive partner? 1. He acts like he’s sorry but you don’t see any real conveyed emotion that doesn’t feel forced as hell. 2. He’s shifting blame, trying to put in on her or making her share the blame, even when it’s all on him. “I feel like I’m disappointing *you*.” “How did *we* let it get so out of hand.” 3. When he’s lost control, he acts tough, and attacks her insecurities. “Who’s gonna love you?” Honestly, Glee was hit or miss with it’s storylines but Beiste’s abuse story arc was nailed perfectly. Kudos to the writers who wrote this. They clearly knew what they were doing.
The part where she says 'Me' adds power to the realism of the scene, but she knows deep down that the people at McKinley; Will, Emma, even Sue and the Glee kids love her no matter what like as family to them.
“I dont hate you! Thats the awful part of it! I love you! But what does that say about how I think of ME?!” Grandma always said “you teach people how to treat you”
SHANNON'S "Me." WAS SO POWERFUL!!!! YES, SHANNON!!! If Only She Knew The Whole Fandom Was There For Her Throughout This All. THE FANDOM LOVES TO SHANNON!!!!
Probably the hardest thing she could possibly have to deal with, and she was amazing. So fucking strong. One thing wrong though, it's not just her that loves her, we all do.
"Who's gonna love you the way I love you, Shannon?!" No one. And that's the point. No one on Earth deserves someone who love them the way Cooter "loves" Shannon. That's not love. That's abuse.
someone that hasn't seen glee: oh the show is about kids singing and dancing and having a good timesomeone who has: yeah that's right no hard subjects are talked about here *says sarcastically*
This is my all time favourite scene in all 6 seasons. I think it taught the most impprtant lesson of all. The whole "believe in yourself and dream big" trope was nice, but telling people that they have a worth outside of how many or if people love them...This lesson of self worth is taught way not often enough. This here is so powerful.
She should have won an Emmy for her acting in this episode. It makes me cry every time I watch it. And the way she says “Me” at the end is so incredibly powerful it’s my favourite scene I the series
I love her, and I love how they made an abusive partner so realistic. At first it seems like a perfect relationship, he brought her flowers and he seemed nice. But then when he felt like he had a hold on her, he got manipulative, abusive, he played the victim card. And her being strong enough to leave his sorry ass
I love how she responded to him at the end. like screw you im out i dont need anyone else, im going to love myself. She could have easily curled up in a ball and fallen for his mind games and devaluation, I think shes a way underrated character on the show and deserves more credit for how much of a badass she is. (or he if you're talking about the last season :) )
This is the best glee moment ever in my opinion! The way she just stands there and delivers that one line... its such such good acting from both of them
So much respect for her and anyone that can be strong enough to something like this. It’s easier to leave the people you hate behind, but even harder to leave the ones you love, even if they’ve hurt physically or emotionally.
I just know for a fact that this scene helped someone in the real world. It definitely has helped me. I have never been in a physically abusive relationship but I have had a guy tell me “who’s gonna want to be with a girl like you? Who’s gonna love you?” And I reflected on this scene and I still keep that in my mind: I’m gonna love myself first because I cannot expect someone to fully love and respect me if I don’t do it for myself ❤️
This whole scene was acted amazingly, kudos to both of them for portraying this arc so well; this scene was so powerful, especially the last moment "Who's going to love you?" "Me"
Dot Marie Jones single-handedly saved Glee's last episodes of the trainwreck season 3 was. I'm still pissed she didn't win the Emmy for her superb acting, one of the best depictions of domestic violence american television has shown. The fear of keep getting hurt if you stay but the anxiety of losing the "love" and "care" of the person you're attached to if you leave
It’s sad that it’s hard for her to leave her husband, but she doing this for herself as she can’t stay in a relationship. She can’t stay with someone that’s gonna keep hurting her. She did the best thing in leaving, the person that’s hurting her.
Both of the actors in this scene, Beiste especially (sorry if I misspelled it) was phenomenal. You can see the pain in her eyes as she finally makes the decision to stand up for herself
That was one of the most important parts of glee. Glee taught us to love yourself, and Shannon/Sheldon showed that. Shannon accepted herself and transitioned into Sheldon. Truly a great message
This is a testament to the toxicity and mind games men impose on women. She's clearly stronger than him and yet he managed to damage her (character) so bad.
I work in a job where a lot of our clients deal with domestic violence and this scene deals with it so well. It hits why people won’t leave and is tasteful without being overplayed. Makes me cry more than not.
This scene came to mind as one of the very best examples of self-love, even when you know you aren't pretty and have a body complex, you still have to know your own value, beyond knowing when you don't deserve someone's love if it's hurting you.
i see so much of my mum in her always an especially in this scene an it makes me cry because its just my mum stood there to me an i feel her pain so much xx
Beiste is lucky that Roz and Sue helped him when that husband hit Beiste, if he didn’t, Beiste would have been stuck there until who knows how long until he realised that he needs to leave the abusive husband, you could tell that he was undermining Beistes confidence, the confident person that Beiste is. How he was using manipulative ways on to keep Beiste as his wife. Because a lot of people don’t have friends or family who would do something like that.
Hey if he was willing to literally toss a perfectly good pizza over being confronted about his behaviors, he doesn't deserve it, and definitely doesn't deserve Beiste.
I remember reading something that said ‘when he hits the wall that just shows how hard he wanted to hit you instead’ and that really sat with me, especially when he hit everything off the table and became more threatening at the end of the scene
And kind of lost interest in this show some time late in Season 4, but scenes like this show how underrated dramatically this series was. Like, when the writers wanted to, they could REALLY pull off powerful dramatic scenes like this that seem real. It’s scenes like this that makes me realize why Glee got Emmy nods early on.
"Who's gonna love you now?"
*"Me."*
Best thing taught in Glee.
Brb crying
Agreed
That’s how I feel when I feel like I will never find love.
That’s me after I graduate college and get my own house. I don’t want a dog or a girlfriend. All I want is solitude. And if anyone asks me that question, that’s my answer.
she said "Me" and dropped the damn mic. Left his abusive ass and was on her way to self love and identification. so proud of her
The Cat Gamer and that right there is why women continue to be abused.
God bless anyone reading this.

I remember when this aired I was a kid and god I cried
One of the most underrated characters in my opinion
Abbey Barnhart yasss I agree
Abbey Barnhart one of the most underrated scenes
such a good and touching scene
Abbey Barnhart yes she's so unappreciated
Abbey Barnhart no more of those 666th likes now its 667 XD
I totally agree, the way she said me made me so proud!!
When she says "me", it makes me feel so strong, she's such a powerful character 👌🏻💖
that's why I love this show it touches everyone's heart some good other times bad but theyre lessons that have to be shown
songbird3434 yesss
Most abused victims don't even love themselves so i give her props for that
And they had to make her trans. Shame really.

Same.
More power to her
"Me"

I'm sure the person who wrote this went through it 🥺
The acting in this scene was everything and very realistic
I hate that I know this, but everything he did was 100 per cent

@@marisadaniela6 I know exactly how it was to be in an abusive relationship. This scene was probably the hardest one for me to watch.
This scene and the scene where Puck and her talk about Finn's death is so powerful
They were my favorite student teacher relationship. They helped each other. Without each other their lives would’ve been different, multiple time
Cooter: "WHOSE GONNA LOVE YOU LIKE I DO!"
Shannon: "ME!"
Dang Shannon drop the mic!
She's an amazing actress
Right?? I saw her in married with children as a kid and I can’t believe some one time actress can grow to perform like this
Geez... the 'Me' part always gave me the chills, she says it with so much courage. One of the best moments of Glee:)
Shannon was honestly one of the nicest and underrated character in glee, she deserved so much more ❤
Amazing actress.
One of the BEST scenes in glee. Hands down. Every single line Beiste says echoes with so much power and emotion and truth.
the "me" was just so powerful and awesome. so much strength she can give us girls.
The way cooter got up and got mad at the end is exactly why beiste did the right thing.

The thing with abusers is they are the ones who need their victims, but they'll gaslight a partner to make him or her think they can do no better.

She only has a few words in this scene, but that makes what she DOES say so much more powerful!!!
I love the way she just says "Me." It's so powerful, the way she says it with so much raw emotion.

I grew to really dislike Glee as the series went on, but Coach Beiste and her storyline always pulled at my heartstrings
Nobody talks about how tough it is to leave someone ESPECIALLY when you live with the person. I’m so proud of her
When she said me i had fucking tears in my eyes
Bieste and sylvester were THE BADDEST B'S EVERRRR MADDDDE

Dot Marie Jones deserves some kind of award for this scene
As somebody was in a relationship like this before. Glee played this perfectly
this is the best scene of glee. Who’s gonna love you the way that I loved you? 'Me'
I wish when I left my abusive ex I had been this strong. This makes me feel so empowered as a survivor
Probably my favorite scene in the entire show. Its a shame this show lost every ounce of soul and effort it once had.

That “me” is so small but so powerful. Fuck why didn’t Dot Marie Jones get more roles after this?
