    Very nice. The silver machines getting the job done.

    Except for the 1980 interest rates, I would be very happy to jump into the time machine and go back. The Carter grain embargos hurt but in a lot of ways, times were better.

      I was born in 87, but I know just what your taking about, I grew up on a struggling farm in the 90, from problems that were directly effected by what I would call anti small farm regulations, and non common sense decisions.

    Those trees in the fence row are called firewood AKA cut the sons of b****** down you're exactly right I think it's like over a million dollar combine couldn't cut those weeds where are there still a lot of beans but the old I called Silver Surfer gets the job done

    • @TimothyFluegel
      @TimothyFluegel  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      In the past few years I've cleared around 20 miles of fence line. The farm was neglected by revers for almost 30 years. I simply haven't made it to this field yet 😆. And it yielded 45bpa some how. I figured out would be around 15 or 20. But when your talking $22 a bushel I'll take 45bpa.

    Lookin good Tim. We ran 4 lights on top of the cab in front.
    Are you running long finger chaffers?

    • @TimothyFluegel
      @TimothyFluegel  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes I sure am. And long fingers sieves. I have the beans sieves but my beans are always to big to fall through the holes correctly. I end up with more clean grain coming through the returns than I do into the hopper with that one 🤦‍♂️.

    😂 your 750k combine won’t do this??

    • @TimothyFluegel
      @TimothyFluegel  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Lol I've heard it all through the years about not being able to harvest certain fields. And every year Glenn just eats through it all and still sucks the soybeans out of the field. 😆 I've never really seen the new combines do green material and foxtail but from the reactions of farmers around here that run them, it seems that most of them in fact will not do this 😆 🤣 😂

    Amazing video Tim, seems that red head is eating them right along!! So how long was it before you had that plug after saying that in the cab 🤦😳 That little winch was pretty slick!! I laughed so hard at Bob, and the camera while you were standing there motioning him over 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 You two are a hoot!! Man when you were showing the pulley issue, and panned around the building...AC stuff for days 😁😁😁😁 The shots of both of y'all harvesting there and the coal trails were amazing!!! I loved that!! 😁😁😁 You can really tell the difference in speed in the last clip!! 😉😉😉 Man yeah you are going to have to show us his 7000 sometime soon!! I hope you let us in on the soil PH management 😉 Thank you for bringing us along!! Hope you got to finish up harvest!! 😁😁😁🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🌱🌱🌱👍👍👍

      We've hit so much allis stiff is become a problem at this point lol let me tell ya that was amazing running with both combines I've got some more footage I'm gonna make into its own video. I'll get the 7000 videoed soon. Thanks for always being here my friend.

      There ya go cousin Scott 😆. It's a pretty simple process really. Especially just getting the outer shieve off. The bushing need to be done with a press. I was able to get mine out with a hammer and punch but ruined a new one trying to put it back In, and the bearing is just a bearing 😆. But one thing to note about that. On mine the bearing holder was lose on the outer bearing, and you can't get that holder anymore. I put excessive amounts of red lock tight in there the 1st time i changed that bearing about 6 years ago, and it outlasted the bearing 😆. This time I did the same thing. Obviously 😆 if you got any other questions don't hesitate to ask.

    Love the operation, Quick suggestion on the lights, it looks like you bought "spot" lights as opposed to "flood" spec lights. That would help on the front with the center lighting up, also on the side it would light up a much bigger area as opposed to a circle 30ft away from the combine.

    • @TimothyFluegel
      @TimothyFluegel  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thankyou sir! I bought a 20 pack of these lights on Amazon for $69.99 with free shipping 😆 after replacing all but 2 lights on the combine and adding 1 I've got 12 left and it takes 4 of them to use the same amount of power as one of the factory light🤦‍♂️. But your right food lights would definitely be better on the sides but fir the price and power user of these I'll just slap a couple more on there 😆. Thanks for watching and commenting.

    That belt also looked like it was going at an angle is that alternator on straight? Or was it just the camera making it look weird and just think if that was one of those new quarter million dollar combines those faulty alarm sensors would have you shut down and unable to harvest until you got the service technician down to work on it for about 100 dollars a hour lol

    Glad the new head is working good! Old Glenn was pretty impressive flying along through that field, especially with all the foxtail you had to deal with. I'll bet that reel tine to the head felt real good. Everybody is rained out here right now too. Thanks for the video Tim! Hope you have a good one my friend!

      @TimothyFluegel  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thankyou Evan! Sorry I'm late to this but better late late never right 😆. I got done with harvest last night it's raining today and I'm not doing a dam thing productive lol.
      Glen really can get through some tough conditions, I never realized how much better my cylinder setup was until cutting beans with my brother in the L2. I managed to get 150 to 200 more bushels picked than he did that day in about 6 hours of run time. If he when any faster he would plug his cylinder. The foxtail just wouldn't feed for him. The real time actually took a shunk of meat of my head lol I've still got a scab from it. But that the worse anyone got hurt this harvest so I'll take it as a win 😆 thanks for watching Evan I've got a couple to catch up on your way.

    Biggest thing that helped the feeding on my 1020 head was 'sharpening' the auger flighting. With age and use they get a big radius worn on the working edge. Grind it back square and feeds waaaaayyyy better!!

      @TimothyFluegel  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

  • @bradenconway9066
    @bradenconway9066 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    I can’t imagine how bad the agco header was if you think a 1020 is a good header haha. Oh well keep plugging along and if it works for you that’s great. I would rather burn my combine down than run a 1020 anymore haha

    • @bradenconway9066
      @bradenconway9066 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That being said for good standing crops like wheat, durum and canola the 1010 case header was just fantastic. We have had almost 0 problems with our 1010 besides a few sections and guards but thats to be expected.

    • @TimothyFluegel
      @TimothyFluegel  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The biggest problem with the gleaner header was the grain loss there is to much distance between the sickle and the auger, in good conditions it wound lose 5bpa or more. Fundamental design flaws really 😆. This case ih head is an 820.... idk if that makes it better or worse than a 1020, but it's doing OK once I got the fingers in the auger timed right it quit wrapping up and plugging on me so I definitely appreciate that. 😆

      @TimothyFluegel  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Dad had a new Holland tr70, he said there's no way he'd go into this green weeds with it lol. I remember a a kid though when that thing plugged it was a half a day adventure getting the roter unplugged 🤦‍♂️ that's one thing about the gleaners when you do plug them is pretty darn simple to unplug, comparatively speaking.

      Case ih with the cummins. What an upgrade wow. Ran that from 2002 to 2013 then got a 7120 case and well that isn’t even a comparison. We do still run the 1660 as a backup combine and run it every year. Good old combine but not even close to the 7120. I could probably eat the 1660 with the 7120. But old girl does the job.
