  • (Quality Note: This is imported MiniDV footage shot in the Summer of 2001.)
During a visit to Texas, my flights were based out of Dallas/Fort Worth Airport, which is when this footage was taken. This system was totally unique with a fascinating history, and for more in-depth information, I strongly recommend starting by reading the Wikipedia article about it. It was closed and mostly removed in 2005, although parts of the guideway still remain.
I hope someone will enjoy this footage; it was sitting on a tape in a drawer so I figured I'd upload it.

Came across this and it's so surreal to hear my mom (and me) 20 years ago. It's hilarious how we're all back there yammering on as you shoot this incredibly janky thing crawling around at a casual pace. 😂

I sure miss the old DFW. I remember as a kid, riding these old trams when we'd connect. I was always so excited to ride these. So sad they removed them forever. The old DFW was just better in many ways.

True but you gotta admit, Terminal D is pretty amazing…

I work at the airport and I always see the remnants of this and wondered what it looked like before. I would have loved this so much more than the skylink. I’m sad I missed out on all this but thank god you had a video of it.

All do respect… the skylink is unbeatable with those views.

@@andrewsunde7915 To be fair the views are pretty amazing. Especially at dusk and dawn when the planes are taking off and landing.

The AirTrans was also used in the American Airlines Main Terminal. The attention sound when it arrived and departed a station was two strings of a banjo.

I'm not sure what you mean - there were about 50 stations spread out across the airport complex.
