  • Before getting my bags, I thought I would do a full lap on the SkyLink tram. Skylink trains run every two minutes and travel at speeds up to 35-37 mph (56-60 km/h). The Skylink system uses a total of 64 Bombardier Innovia APM 200 vehicles, coupled together into two car trains.

    I was on this tramway back in 2013 and I had the most magical experience, due to it being odd hours during a slow time. I had the whole thing to myself all the way around and witnessed an awesome sunrise as I came to my exit. It was like I was traveling alone in my own sanctuary for that brief period of time.

    I love that you can see various planes take off and land while on the Skylink.

    Thank you for posting. I never have much time to spend exploring DFW, so it was fun to see the entire trip around.

    For an otherwise hectic airport, this is the best part of it!

      If you have a long connection or get to the airport, early take a fun ride around the airport. Thank you for watching.

    One of my favorite airport train systems. DFW is an enormous airport, but this system means you can get from any part of it to any other part of it in 10 minutes or less. Incidentally the train system that came before Skylink, Airtrans, was even bigger - it had 5 lines serving 33 stations! But it was only one direction, much slower, and all but one of the lines were outside the secure area, so it was much less practical for getting around. I'm old enough to have ridden that system too.

    It would have been nice if you would show the gates numbers as they are coming off of the train

    Nobody going to mention how rough the ride is? It’s like riding a rollercoaster while trying to hold luggage. And somehow the straight sections aren’t smooth either.

    It would be appropriate to say that Sky Link travels in 2 directions. I have almost missed my flight for traveling in the opposite direction. For example: if I need to go from terminal B to terminal A, You have to take the inside line, otherwise you will take much longer to get to terminal A. Study the airport diagram before you leave home, so you know in which direction to go. Good Travels!

      Never thought about saying that the sky link ran in two different directions. If you take the wrong one. You could miss your flight. Thank you for watching.

    I'm a Fort Worth native and refer to it as the Ft. Worth/Dallas airport since the bulk of the airport is inside the Ft. Worth city limits and Tarrant county along with American Airlines World Headquarters. If people are exiting to the south going to Dallas they have to go through the city of Irving before the Dallas city limits.

    For someone trying to get from terminal c to d would you recommend skylink or the terminal link?

    • @MarkTheLostTraveler
      @MarkTheLostTraveler  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I Would take the Skylink. It moves pretty fast. Plus the D terminal is on the other side of the airport. So less of a problem going with the terminal link. Thank you for watching.

      @@MarkTheLostTravelerwith Terminal Link you have to exit the secure side so would have to go through security again.
