When you have to name a u-boat in a hurry and you're not very creative.
Probably using "password" as the Enigma cipher, too.
I raise you the U-1234. It even got sunk twice.
I am fairly sure that they were just using the numbers sequentially from 1 till the war's end. Although many numbers were used for subs that were never laid out too.
@@tarkalak you are correct from what I have read the numbering was U-boats was sequential in order of construction, however not all of them were ocean going and were coastal subs that never went further than Norway or the channel.

This is the ideal length imo. The problem is that sometimes not much happens that is worth recording. In order to get the videos out on time I have to make some of them shorter.

Each milch cow was hunted down by the allies
wireless one very dangerous job. They didn’t have any way to defend themselves aside from the flak guns. I believe there were a total of ten milk cows which of course were all hunted down.

U-123 was actually decommisioned on my birthday in 1944, according to wikipedia.
The decoys were usually used to get rid of rubbish accumulating on board your boat as they left very little evidence of your presence
You mean they jettisoned junk out of the pill launcher while on patrol?
Yes, they certainly did because the decoys were found to be next to useless in action
Any other OCD people here that watch him setting up torpedo runs aiming for a specific spot and NOT punching it right on the zero mark? I swear every time I see it go more than 4 seconds past I'm saying to myself "BOI SHOOT NOW DAMN IT" XD

The depth under keel was very complicated and some versions of it were not detectable to enemy destroyers. I don't think the game not having it is a bad thing.

Are your deck slots loaded with torpedoes? Didn't look like it. Hope you didn't forget to load them back in Lorient...
Good attack on the ore carrier. I wonder if one magnetic hit would have been enough? Ore carriers are normally very heavily loaded, and it shouldn't take much more weight to drag them under.

Seeing the Milch cow was pretty cool! All of my external reserves are full.
One torpedo could have been enough to sink her although I am not too sure. It took her a while to go down with the two eels.
Sink times were so much better in this game compared to U-Boat where they drop like a rock.

I normally put the mod list in all of my videos I just forgot to do It this time. It's fixed now.
I would love to play sh3 with the grey wolves expansion, but the game crashes usually like 4-6 times before i am allowed to play like 1 patrol :(
If the game doesn't allow altering the keys, such as having, for example, Ctrl+J for the decoy, maybe you should just pop off the keycap of the J key for the gaming sessions. You'd certainly feel the difference in your fingertips.

Yes I think it is wishful thinking. I think there is a better chance of an inde developer making a 'Sipritual Successor' to Silent Hunter.
What mod are you using for your uboat model ?
With respect to the poor weather lasting too long the hardcoded .exe mod by HSIE should offer a solution to that. Stiebler also made a stand alone solution as well.
I have the hard-coded fixes. I need to try out Stiebler's patch

s actually pretty safe and stealthy in modern times. Im by no expert a ww2 sub expert like i am modern subs, but sending a ping straight down and back up is hard for a surface escort more than a thousand yards aways is hard tp hear.
If you really hate yourself, i'd really like to see you play without the GPS map. It would be really interesting to see how a seasoned played such as yourslf would adapt in a world where speed and course are not that easy and mostly accurate to figure out

Hello, I have a question. Refueling is in GWX 3.0 or some other mode you using? I know tankers are in GWX but you don´t need exit the mission to refuel?
You need to have the H. Sie hard coded fixes to refuel the way I did in the video.

I still gave a like because one small grammar mistake doesn't outweigh the entertainment and educational value of the video. I learned about baffles, radio direction finder (loop antenna), and milk cows, specifically the U-461. Did you know the U-461 was sunk by an airplane designated also as U-461? How interresting! 6th patrol, July 27, 1943. 53 crew members were killed.
Im having problems installing mods i might be doing it wrong
Here is how i do it:
Download any mod i want
Unzip the file/files and the click browse local files on sh3 on steam and then i put the files in local files and then start the game and nothing happened
Im kind of a noob on software overall

Waste of ammo early in the patrol. You'll need it in the Gulf
