Absolutely awesome Tip! I was messing with how to fabricate an end like this, and you're over here like ... you don't have to!

Great tip! That looks great. Now some poor slob trying to build his brass locomotive is going to be puzzled why he can’t find any stanchions anywhere.

Love it.i know my next projects suspension and don't even know what I going to build yet. I used 1/10 scale oil filled shocks for hydraulic cylinders on my metal Tonka carhualer for my 1/24 & 1/25 plastic cars. 3 Porsche 356's on top and 2 lower.

Little things like that make big differences. I have made regular shock absorbers when I bash together suspensions and need a length I don't have in my stash bins. Those coil overs are cool.

It's tips and tricks like this that go a long way, thanks. I think it also helps the ones who want to build more elaborate stuff, but have no idea where to even start with parts and materials and get discouraged thinking "How tf am I going to make that joint out of *stares at maybe some sprue, and evergreen sheet on the table*"
I can make roll bars, cages, chassis, monocoque tubs, headers, the bars for a four link or whatever easy enough because the information for 1 to 1 sizes are easily findable for just about anything you'd want to build in scale. Then I go look at a Tim Mcamis video on an adjustable four link pro mod rear because I want to make one for a build and at some point it turns into exactly into "How the f..." Same with fuel lines, plug wires and other wiring, I have serious problems remembering even what the 1 to 1 sizes are supposed to be on a given application, scale sizes and what to use even more so. End of yet another incoherent rambling comment :)

Luka I wanna thank you for solving this mystery for me, I abandoned working on 1/25 Indy cars because I could not figure how others were doing it . Mystery solved !

I need to learn this extra technique stuff. I need to try my hand at custom suspension. That looks awesome. I would have no idea where to start.
I'll start researching how other people do it today. This was great info. I'm always amazed at some of the things you do with your model cars.

Just built my prototype coilover, and those handrail estucions would look great. Really want to see you build that Willys . I've been thinking of scratch building a four link set-up and want to see details. Great job.

Speaking of working on things in 2022, Luka what happened with the 64 olds you had goin on. I love this idea, I'm working out a 72 vega right now and this tip would really make an awesome impression. It would be cool to see a video on scratch building a set of the load handlers like I had on my 80 grand prix or those double end jobs for the 4 link setup you showed. Your an awesome builder Cee keep it up.

Recently got back into model building after a long break from adolescents. I watch a lot of your videos for insight and your attention to detail is impressive. In this video you mentioned building coil over shocks which is something I have been trying to build on my own. I haven't found or figured out how to make them look realistic until I saw this video. Would you share your knowledge on how you achieved yours. Thanks in advance and thanks for doing your videos.

Luka, go back to that train shop and get some h/o chain, then link it from the rear axle to the frame. That will limit the amount it can travel.
