Sound samples and a comparison with the (Baja) Telecaster and Esquire wiring can be found in this video:
    th-cam.com/video/_XsEq0Vbbws/w-d-xo.html
It also presents the idea of having multiple control plates with quick connectors for one Telecaster.
This video here is just the bare tutorial how to do this wiring.

Short and sweet and very complete

      Thanks Janice!
I try to make them as short as possible with just the necessary information to build it, but not a bit more, so it's hopefully not confusing for beginners.
      Cheers,
      Martin

      Thanks a lot Andrea!
I can totally recommend this wiring. I like it a lot and would prefer it over a standard Tele wiring, not though over the Baja one.

This is great, thank you for all the time and effort to produce this video.
Do you have any videos where you demonstrate the wiring you've just produced the tutorial for?
I gotta say, as a long time electronics tech your graphics and steps are well thought through and easy to follow.

Thanks a lot for the kind words and the sub! I've put quite some time into these videos. I'm always happy when people notice and appreciate it. Yeah, we have a direct comparison between the Broadcaster, Esquire and Baja (Standard Tele + Series and Out of Phase functionality) wiring. You can find it here:
      th-cam.com/video/_XsEq0Vbbws/w-d-xo.html
The way I did it, I can swap these wirings, and so the demo is all on the same guitar under exactly the same conditions.
      Cheers,
      Martin

@@LMGuitarCorner Thanks for the link Martin, much appreciated.
Great idea, being able to quickly switch out the control assemblies is a great idea, thank you for sharing that with us as well as producing a substantial demo video (no small task).
      I'm watching your video now.
I'm building a no-expense spared "heirloom" guitar that I might use the Broadcaster Blend Control, so you demo will be very helpful. My "Heirloom-Build" is a custom shop quality guitar at half the cost, I'll enjoy this guitar and then pass it on to my adult Son who also plays. I had to use the heirloom build idea so my wife would sing-off on the considerable cost to our family budget (because another guitar isn't something I really need given my current collection), but I digress.
Check this out, this is how far O've gotten after almost 2 years of slowly acquiring all the parts. th-cam.com/video/e-C2or_fIhY/w-d-xo.html
      Again, thank you, great content.

Hey Martin, really cool tutorial, thank you! I'm considering this Broadcaster blend wiring, but I have a question.Could it be possible to add the series mod to it? Or are the two completely incompatible? Any advice much appreciated, cheers!

      Hey there, thanks a lot!
I've had a quick look at the diagram. I don't think you will be able to get it going with a 4-way blade switch. At least not without completely redoing the wiring, so it has barely anything in common with the original one. Unfortunately I don't have the time to think myself into this all too much to get you a 4-way solution anytime soon. However, you can make it work with a push-pull pot. But you will have to consider, that you'll not be able to get a blend functionality in this position, because if everything is in series, your resistor and blend pot, will also affect both of your pickups, just like an additional volume control.
How you would do it with a push-pull pot depends a little on your pickups. I would highly recommend you to have a 3-wire pickup with the shielding (ground) separated from your south wire of the pickup. Otherwise you might get your PU housings to become hot, not ground anymore, in the series position. This will lead to any touch of you injecting currents from your body into the circuit which will be noticed as noise.
You will want to have a look at my push-pull wiring explanation video. There I have the schematics how you would insert that push pull for series/parallel of two pickups into any circuit. There are a few things to be aware of though. What I consider PU1 in that diagram has to be a pickup with 3 wires as mentioned above. The other one does not need to be one. This will have some limitations. You can't quickly switch from series to just any other position. If the bridge PU is PU1, only the blend position will work with the push-pull in series mode, the other ones will be muted. If the neck is PU1 with the 3 wires, it will be the blend position that is muted. So it's probably preferable to have the neck PU be PU1, if possible, as you can also use the PUs in series on the "bass setting".
Also a few notes to have it easier to understand my explanations in that video, "GND PU1" is the south wire from the coil of PU1. I was a little sloppy there not naming it south. In your case "GND" is actually a connection to ground, so you can wire that directly to the pot housing. "PU2 hot out" is where your north or "hot" wire of that pickup would go in the wiring diagram, if you wouldn't have the push pull in between. This means the respective pin on the 3-way blade switch.
      I hope this helps.
      Cheers,
      Martin

@@LMGuitarCorner Wow, man, thank you so much! I wasn't expecting such a detailed answer.
I love your solution, using a push-pull rather than a four-way switch. I'll have a look at the other video you mentioned. Using the neck PU as PU1, like you said, seems to be the best option indeed. I still need to think about this guitar setup and what I want out of it, but I'll let you know what I end up doing.
In any case, thank you so much for your quick and very detailed answer, Martin. It means a lot. Best of luck with the channel, looking forward to seeing more great content!

@@batsauvage7472 You're welcome and thanks a lot for your kind words! I just also did think about it once more. If you use the neck PU, you will have series indeed working in all positions as the neck PU is active in all 3 positions. In the blend position, you will have all resistors including both pots active though, so I'm not sure how useful it will be, but you would get some kind of signal. If you have any video request just let me know. Imho I've finished pretty much all relevant and non standard wirings, especially with my push pull video being universal for any kind of combinations with push pulls. I may have missed something though.
      Cheers,
      Martin
